Mr. Wais Qais
Chief Executive Officer of AKS Services Group

Mr. Wais Qais is the founder and CEO of Afghan Knowledge Solutions (AKS). He has more than fifteen years of experience working on international development programs in Afghanistan, and has exceptional expertise in navigating highly political development issues.
Mr. Wais was born in Afghanistan and raised in the UK. He started his career as an investment banker in the City of London but after completing his Masters in Business Administration specialized in International Economics, he returned back to Afghanistan and successfully oversaw the delivery of numerous development programs for development consultancies and the United Nations (UN).
Mr. Wais was aspired to contribute to the development of Afghanistan. After his work with UN agencies, Mr. Wais decided to establish AKS to support international donor programs with intend to assist in the development of Afghanistan economically and politically.

Dominic d’Angelo is a Kabul-based international consultant with seven years of experience working closely with Afghan Government, donor agencies, international partners on policy development level, including assessments and capacity building within the Afghan Civil Society organizations. He also works in organizational reforms, reviews and assessments with international and Afghan national organizations. He has significant experience in program and project design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation in government and private sector business


Abdul Ehsan Mohmand
CEO of Dynamic Vision (DV)

Abdul Ehsan Mohmand has more than 15 years of experience, he has held several positions like; President & CEO of Dynamic Vision (DV), Program Director TAPI FEED Project (ESIA & LARP), Operations Manager the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of Afghanistan, Chief Executive Director of Pakistan Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Program Director of Development Alternative International (DAI), Country Operations Director International City/County Management Association (ICMA), Senior Program Operations Coordinator with the Louis Berger Group/Black & Veatch, Vice Chairman of Afghanistan Consultancy Companies Association. During his career, he has implemented more than 300 projects of different scales. He has been honored to be the among the key speakers at the following Afghanistan National Events; Private Investments for Development of Sustainable Energy in Afghanistan and Orientation of Emerging Entrepreneurs in the Energy Sector Conference, Future Youth Leaders Forum 2018, Future Business Leaders 2018,  AIESEC Afghanistan Youth to Business Forum, AIESEC Afghanistan T4D (training for development) Session at Kabul University, Kabul University International Model United Nations (KUIMUN), Kabul Poly Technic University (KPU) to be the Mentor for the Hult Prize 2017 team of KPU to present Afghanistan at the Global competition. Internationally he has been also selected as a speaker at World Edu Summit 2018.


Sher Shah Rahim
Chief Technology Officer AHG

Mr. Sher Shah Rahim who started his career with AHG as an intern five years ago now serves as the Chief Technology Officer for AHG and is the president of Zinzir. Mr. Rahim manages and leads million-dollar products including Hesab Pay, AfghaNet, Buber and One Store.Mr. Rahim has a degree in computer science from the Amercian University of Afghanistan and has extensive expertise in software design, architecture, mobile application development and block-chain technologies. He is also an advanced communicator with proficiency in English, Pashto, Dari and Urdu/Hindi - capable of facilitating meetings and presentations to multiple audience types.


Wes Friberg
Director of International Donor Relations at Global Partners – Afghanistan

I love to work in developing and empowering people to reach their full potential and beyond. I love to help people create, shape, sharpen, hone and tweak their personal and company strategic plans. I also enjoy doing follow-up with clients as they are in their implementation stage, working closely with them to keep them accountable, empowered, and resourced to do all they have determined to do.

Mir Ahmad Yousoffi
Founder of Sahib Ull Zaman Private High School

Mir has over six years of experience in survey, research and M&E projects. He has been involved in data management and analysis for several M&E projects, he has brought valuable knowledge of data analysis software including STATA and SPSS. Mir is the co-founder of a private school and he has been involved in social and volunteer activities, He writes for the Islahat Daily newspaper as a freelance writer. He has Bachelor degree in Statistics and Econometric from Kabul University in 2012 and he is currently doing his masters in Finance and Banking.


Ali Sarabi
Technical Adviser

Mr. Ali Sarabi acquired his Bachelor in Arts and Architecture. He is also a Certified PRINCE2 Practitioner with more than seven years of experience in design, construction, project management and program management. His professional work experiences are in areas such as designing, and implementing projects for national and international organizations including US Army Corps of Engineers. He also worked in project management focused in construction projects with international organizations including the EU, UNODC, USAID and IOM.
Sarabi has a wide range of experience in program management of construction projects, training and capacity building, procurement and administration programs funded by British Embassy, GIZ and DFID.


Mohammad Islam
Founder of One Stop Advertising Center

Mohammad Islam Hussain was born in 1993 in Kabul Afghanistan. Graduated from faculty of economics at Kabul University in 2014. 
He has written more than seventeen economic topics to some of most famous Afghanistan daily newspapers like Hasht e Suh, Etlaatroz, Jamebaz, Rah e Madaneyat and Sunday e Sharwand and www.nopana.ir that is online magazine Iranian website for Startups and Entrepreneurship.
He received three months internship program from Etisalat Communication Company in 2013. He has worked as Budget Officer with One TV Channel more than one year in 2015 and worked as Market Researcher and Procurement Manager from 2015 to 2017.  Currently, he works as Site Amin Manager with Novin Simia Company.
He starts his own startup with someone in 2017 that was Online Marketing and Advertising by the name of One Stop Advertising Center, but he left the company for the some of the problems that were created by Investor.



Mustafa Wahrez
Software Developer

Mohammad Mustafa Wahrez has a BSc hon in Computer Science from the University of Kabul, he has a software development and training experience over a period of 3 years working on a variety of projects from conception to delivery. He is a very conversant person in a range of technological tools and approaches. His competencies are not only limited to development; he was a trainer in GIZ. He delivered the product of a school management system for private and governmental school, a cargo system for AYG Company, and a Stock management system for Emam Khominy Aid Committee. He has the privilege of being a part of the team that designing and developing the E-GP for Afghanistan government. Among his many organizational attributes Mustafa Wahrez also has his talent flow over, PHP, PHP Framework (Laravel, Codeigniter), HTML / CSS / JavaScript, JavaScript Frameworks (jQuery, Angular), Ajax, JSON, XML, MYSQL. He has had advanced Level IT Training under ICT Sector Development Project of MCIT.


Osman Hamim
Financial Management Specialist

Osman Hamim has started his higher educational Journey from Kabul University, Economic Faculty in 2003. After Graduation from KU, he paved his way to get his MA degree and follow his dreams of being specialist in financial management. In 2011, he started his own business in Construction Section with huge growth, but in 2014 after the withdrawal of international troops from Afghanistan; he stopped his own business and start work with USAID Funded Afghanistan Workforce Development Program as Finance Specialist. 
Currently, he works as Financial Management Specialist in Afghanistan Knowledge Solutions (AKS), where he has worked in a capacity-building project for the past one year.  He has extensive experience in financial management of public and private sectors in Afghanistan. He has studied all business theories and managerial skills in University but the great part is that he has seen many ups and downs in business practically. He has enough information about how to start new business and increasing its productivity in Markets. 
Osman has worked as Program Budget Analyst, Proposal Writing Advisor and Finance Specialist with different USAID Funded project in the Parliament of Afghanistan and other government agencies. Therefore, he is considered as one of the most valuable presenters. 
Being familiar with all aspects of running companies or establishing businesses, now he would like to share his ideas and experiences to enhance and guide those, who has some innovative ideas and looking for establishing new businesses. 


Shakiba Ibrahimkhail
Executive Director at Basya Organization

Shakiba Ibrahimkhail holds a bachelor degree in Computer Science from Kardan University, Kabul, in Software Engineering department. Also, she has taken an associated degree in Information Technology with distinction and on the dean's honor list. During co-op terms as an undergraduate, worked in software development and embedded device driver software within some private companies. Recently she started working as executive director of Basya organization for capacity building and support of youths and women in different areas at 34 provinces of Afghanistan. Moreover, she has had experience working as project manager with Ascwy organization. Recently, she was working as a technical advisor with MoPW and with other various teams of that: System development, Social media, Public Affairs. As her practical project, she started working on two different mobile applications with interests in benchmarking and performance evaluation. She is a firm believer of human talent and would like to contribute in any way possible to help individuals learn and share knowledge. She is the board member of Youth Cultural Association. She was also as organizer committee in many social, educational and innovative youth programs. Worked as Program director in Afghan women voice for peace. She is interested to involve in the driving of technology for a positive change in Afghanistan and she believes that technology plays a vital role in human development through good governance and access to knowledge.


Naweed Joia
Founder of Magic Restaurant

Naweed Joya was born in 1995. He graduated from Habibia high school. While a student, He worked as a part time employee in Arya TV. For his active participations at the school level, he was elected as the head of students’ council in Habibia High School. He has worked in Media for years and was acting Information Manager in Ahmad Zia Massoud’s office “president’s special representative in good governance”. Mr. Joya acquired his BBA (Bachelor in Business Administration) from Donya University. He is currently working as producer manager in Afghanistan Youths TV channel. Mr. Joya along with Islam Ahmady and Bani his friends founded “Fast coffee” and “Magic Restaurant”.Nawed Joya just recently turned to establish startups in Kabul through which he wish to contribute to the economy of Afghanistan.


Shaukatullah Abid
Finance Specialist

Shaukatullah Abid was born in Asad Abad city of Kunar province. He completed his bachelor degree with a finance specialization from Kabul and got his MA from Bangalore University- India in specialization finance and banking. In the same period, he has attended many practical and professional workshops of entrepreneurs and business. Moreover, he has attended many programs and institutions for the sack of Knowledge and experiences, such as American PDI, Afghanistan Civil Service Institute, Ghaoharshad Institute, International Medical Corps, Afghanistan Korea Vocational Training Center, Hewad Institute and APTECT Compute Education at new Delhi-India. He has more than 7 years experiences in finance and banking and business, and currently, he is working as a finance officer with Afghanistan Stabilization Program.  


Mujtaba Haris
Branding Specialist

Mujtaba Haris is currently holding a bachelor degree in Media Studies & IT. He is self-motivated and a creative director. He has more than 9 years of experience working with national and international organizations in media management he has held several positions like; Mass Media Director for the Dynamic Vision, Communication expert TAPI FEED Project (ESIA & LARP), Project Manager UNICEF Media & Communication Project, Senior Adviser to De Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) Mass Media Project, Mass Strategy & Branding Consultant Finland Embassy, Fund for Local Cooperation (FLC), Project Manager Ministry of Energy and Water (MEW) Media & Branding strategy Project. He is also an entrepreneur, he started his own production company in 2015. Mujtaba Haris has gained a considerable amount of knowledge and experience in team building, teamwork and team management which has helped him progress constantly in his career and has given him the ability to manage teams of different races and ethnicities successfully in challenging situations. He is currently working on different creative ideas to introduce a new face and identity of Afghanistan to the world through media.


Mohammad Waris Mustamandi
M&E Specialist

Mr. Mohammad Waris Mustamandi is the President of Creative Brains Management Consulting (CBMC) who has an MBA in general management and a total of 11 years of experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, Data management, and analysis. Mr. Mustamandi has been involved working and helped different government organizations such as MRRD, MoF, MOE, and MEW to have basic M&E systems and conducted many surveys, evaluations and assessments in the country. In addition, he has wide experience in proposal development, business development, and strategic planning. Mr. Mustamandi will be one of the mentors in the Startup week workshop to guide the students. 


Matiullah Rahmaty
Social Entrepreneur

Matiullah Rahmaty is a social entrepreneur with 5 years of professional experience with background in Business. He is currently the Founder/CEO of Bright Point Consulting Company. He contributes to the entrepreneurial eco system in Afghanistan by running the following national and international initiatives: local Director at Founder Institute, Co-Founder at impACT, Consultant at CIVIC. As part of his social and cultural activities he is the co-founder of Book Club Afghanistan, Vice President of Academic Research and Translation Organization, also Global Shaper at World Economic Forum and volunteer at TEDx



Ahmadullah Mauj
Head of programs

Ahmadullah Mauj Infrastructure Governance/ Program Management
Mr. Mauj has over 7 years of experience in program management, focusing on transparency and capacity building. He is currently Head of Programs at Integrity Watch Afghanistan, the leading Afghan anti-corruption watchdog, managing the programs collaborating with SIGAR, USIP, EU, DFID, GIZ among other donors. He previously worked at Kabul Engineering Technical Organization, focusing on poverty reduction through skills development and jobs creation schemes funded by UNDP, GIZ and US Embassy. He also interned at ILTIS GmbH in Germany on international sustainable development. Me. Mauj has over 5 years of experience in youth leadership development through AIESEC, the world's largest youth-run organization. He is currently chairman of Board of Advisors at AIESEC in Afghanistan, supporting the national executive team. He previously led as national president and vice-president of the organization, providing international exchange and learning opportunities for hundreds of Afghan youth e.g. internships, conferences, trainings.



Shogofa Sarabi
Business expert

Shogofa Sarabi currently works with UN FAO based at the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock. She has received her master’s degree from Durham University of United Kingdom in International Business Management. She has studied her bachelor degree in Economy Faculty of Kabul University. During her studies, she has worked on market research and analysis, with a focus on some famous fashion businesses such as M&S, H&M, Clarks and Monsoon. Ms. Shogofa has worked for various national and international NGOs and specifically has assisted various women owned businesses in Kabul, Balkh, Badakhshan, and Takhar while working with the German organisation GIZ. She also supports Afghan girls in developing their business plans as a volunteer with the Inspiring Girls Organization.

Abdul Ghayoor Bawary
Founder/CEO at Experts Valley Technologies

Mr. Abdul Ghayoor Bawary is the founder of “Experts Valley Technologies” & an ISP Engineer “MultiNet ISP Afghanistan”. Mr. Bawary was born on September 7, 1985 in Kabul Afghanistan. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Kardan University in 2013 and been selected as Alumnus of The Month on Feb 2017. He has more than 10 years of professional experience in ISP/IT and has worked with several well-known organizations. Ever since he joined Kardan University, Mr. Bawary has been a business and entrepreneurship enthusiast whose aim has been to encourage entrepreneurship in developing countries with a special focus on Afghanistan. He has enrolled The Founder Institute Kabul Chapter 1st Semester on Oct 2014 and launched his Startup “Experts Valley IT Outsourcing Co”. Mr. Ghayoor has attended several entrepreneurial events such as Startup Weekend, Kabul where he and his team won the 2nd prize. In 2015 he volunteered at the 3rd Annual Innovations Lab Afghanistan as Mentor and continues to provide Mentorship to the Founder Institute Kabul’s Startup Founders. Mr. Ghayoor Bawary is a founding member of Internet Society, Afghanistan Chapter, and was recently selected as Volunteers Manager for Internet Governance Forum Afghanistan, 2017, which was held from 28th – 30th March 2017.

She is working as leadership member of Startup Community girls that support startup girls to bring positive changes in their business ideas. Mahbegom Fayyazi got her B.S in software engineering from Islamic Azad University of Najafabas(IAUN). She worked as IT supporter in SLFC and now she is working as a market officer in Green Tech Co. She involved in a different program that were in capacity building and business and he loves to work hard for Afghanistan women and currently she is thinking about gathering Tech Women in Kabul.

Reza Kajabi is graphic designer and the CEO of KAAJ online shopping center. He is studying in Allamah Insatiate of Higher Education. Reza participated in startup weekend   Kabul 2017, and it was the first step that became inspire to think about entrepreneurship and help others to think like businessmen.  


Jafar Nazary

Jafar Nazary is the cofounder and executive director of Elsa Studio. He is working as creative specialist in Afghanistan Holding Group (AHG) with over 9 years experience in this field. He was working as volunteer in many organizations and social groups, such as G+, Progressive Thinking Organization, Seeds of Peace and AEISEC of Afghanistan, and currently he is student in Kabul University, Economic Faculty, in addition he is a graphic and photography instructor. 


Ahmad Sohail

In spite of photography, he is a marketing manager at Homestay Tutoring & Consulting Services Company. He has been privileged to be given an opportunity to attend LEAP ( Leadership and English Advancement Program) Mumbai India by the American councils for international education and soon after, he had been chosen as the alumni of the year - 2017 by the US Embassy Kabul. Moreover, he has organized more than 22 community services projects from different organizations, and he started voluntary work from four years ago and now he is volunteering at American councils for international education. Nowadays, he is working on organizing the very first International camp for the first time in Afghanistan. He believes that only youth can bring changes to the world, and the most powerful gun is youth words.



Emran Bakhtyari

Emran Safa Bakhtyari who is involving in different programs and initiatives and work to build a peaceful and development community. He is studying BCS at Katib University. Beside his University studies he is a member of some groups, which are working for peace, solidarity, quality education and economic growth. Such as The Thousand Face of Book Reader Group, OSDSS- Future Youth Leader Forum, as well as he participated in different capacity building programs such as leadership, technical studies and Kabul Startup Weekend- 2017 at Kabul.  


Nida Naikpai

Ms. Nida Nakipai is the student of Kabul University, and currently she is working in election department of FIFA. Besides her official job and studies, she is an active girl that is involving in different groups and teams, such as Startup Weekend community, Startup Valley, and other local groups that are working for positive changes. Her core goal is to start her own business and be more significant in the community.
