Do you have an idea you'd like to pursue or a problem you'd like to solve but don't know where to start or who to start with?  

Techstars Startup Weekend is the place to look for a team, create a prototype of your idea, validate your business idea, and receive feedback from experienced entrepreneurs, all in one weekend.  

What do you need to bring?
 

Lots of energy! You'll pitch your own idea or listen to others, then vote on the most interesting ideas and form teams with diverse skill sets. You can come with friends, but you’ll get the full experience if you participate in separate teams. Remember, it’s all about the team.  
Your idea should be something you have not previously worked on. The idea you pitch and the problem you set out to solve can span social, educational, financial, environmental, or other issues. Over the course of the weekend you'll be challenged to create a prototype of your MVP, or minimum viable product, that fits the needs of your target customer. You'll get feedback, iterate, and likely pivot your approach entirely!

Important: You cannot have worked previously on your idea.  

Techstars Startup Weekend is a full weekend long experience.

Aneida Bajraktari Bicja
Entrepreneur

Aneida Bajraktari Bicja is the co-founder and managing partner of "Balkans Capital" a financial consulting company based in Tirana helping companies unleash the transformative power of their finances. Aneida is a key player in the startup ecosystem in Albania. She is the director of Startup Grind Tirana, a global startup community designed to educate, inspire, and connect entrepreneurs; lead organizer of Startup Weekend Tirana, the world’s biggest educational movement for entrepreneurs, curator at Startup Digest, a media company that publishes curated email newsletters on startup events and educational content in more than 300 cities. Aneida has organized numerous events with the desire to aid the development of the local entrepreneurial system. She has been invited as keynote speaker, mentor, jury member to different events. Her entrepreneurial spirit and pursuits not only engage and inspire but have also contributed in fostering innovation in the country.  


Gerti Boshnjaku
CEO New Media Communication

Gerti is CEO and Founder of New Media group; A Tech & Marketing Consulting Group with focus on Innovation, Marketing & Startups delivering integrated services of Design & Development of Online Solutions, Websites, Applications and Digital Media.His career includes 18+ years of experience in the Marketing and Advertising industry, working in well-known companies in Albania and managing the business operations of his own company, which he founded in 2009. Gerti's work with a variety of national & international clients has engaged him in many projects where has been needed expertise in Strategic Planning & Marketing Consultancies, Online Project Management, Business Development, Communication Strategy, Media planning & Buying, Brand Identity, PR Activities & Promotions. Over the years of work at New Media Communications, Gerti has been in charge of all the projects developed which supplied powerful marketing and PR solutions for clients in the fields of automotive, consumer goods, financial, higher education, manufacturing, medical, real estate and property management, retail, recreation and tourism & travel. On 2015 launched a startup project in the Digital Media called the Business Magazine Albania - www.BusinessMag.al - which now is the First Online Media Platform focused on Startups and Entrepreneurship in Albanian language. Engaged in a series of activities in the Innovation and Startup Albanian Scene as a mentor and community builder, since 2016 he is the Chapter Director of Startup Grind Tirana, part of Startup Grind. Startup Grind is a global community for Entrepreneurs designed to educate, inspire, and connect entrepreneurs.

Fabiola Duro
Director of Sales & Marketing

Fabiola joined TOK Digital Agency in February 2019 as the Director of Sales & Marketing management in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating all the Marketing channels, merchandising & trade promotion programs. Fabiola is a deep market researcher, product & service management, distributions, setting prices, finance, product management, promotional channels and matching products to consumers in national & international level. Fabiola is also the co- founder of Innovation NEST, part of TOK Digital Agency. She has more than 15 years of experience in the legal marketing industry.  Her professional achievements also range from international multilateral economic & trade cooperation, FDI, business negotiations & trade development. Since her early years she has shown a specific interest in the business management & entrepreneurship. She has a Master Degree in Economic Diplomacy at the Mediterranean Academy of Malta and she works as Assistant Professor of Business Communication & Entrepreneurship at the Management and Communication Department for SME's at Economic Faculty of Tirana.


Eva Çota
CEO

Eva Çota holds a Bachelor's degree and Msc in English language teaching from University of Tirana and an MBA from Polis University. She is the founder and Managing Director of Academy of European Languages (AEL), a language school based in Tirana, since 2013. She is passionate about learning and personal development and has obtained numerous professional qualifications. Eva is experienced in teaching, management, sales and marketing counting 10 years of experience. She has worked for private companies in B2B sales and management as well as in public sector, at the National Agency for Research, Technology and Innovation. She is also a volunteer in a public educational institution, helping children in street situation learn English for better alternatives in life. Eva is the First Prize winner of BIESS 2018 - Balkans International Entrepreneurship Summer School. She brought this experience in her language school by teaching her teenage students more about entrepreneurship through English, 
enabling them to deliver remarkable pitches in front of a professional jury and a large audience at BIESS 2019, this summer. She has been part of several StartUp communities and bootcamps acting as a facilitator and mentor for young and emerging entrepreneurs and helping them move forward.


Jonida Këllezi Çako
Marketing Manager

Jonida is an experienced professional on managing level, with a demonstrated history of working in universities, marketing and communication agencies, and startups. She has a strong background in Communication studies, Marketing, Advertising and PR complemented by more than 5 years of formal training (MA and PhD studies) and over 10 years of professional work experience in both teaching and private practice. Having extensive teaching and research experience in marketing, management, entrepreneurship, communication and media campaigns, both as a Lecturer of various University courses and as a practitioner in the private sector, has given her the possibility to engage more with young entrepreneurs in Tirana and in other cities. She has organized different startup events, such as: bootcamps, startup weekends, startup competitions in the ICT sector, statup competitions in creative industries, etc. Thanks to her consultancy experience, Jonida has the ability to integrate quickly in different management styles, as well as get up to speed quickly on industry terminology and operations by applying technical skills to any project.


Sara Usinger
Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Enabler

Sara has been active in the startup world since almost ten years. After helping to build up and run STARTPLATZ, a Coworking Space and Incubator in Cologne/Germany she moved to Iran and co-founded, built up and run one of the first professional startup accelerators in the country for three years. After spending time in the Balkans in 2017/2018 she recently returned to Tirana as part of the EU for Innovation Project. During the past 5 years she worked with hundreds of startups in different ecosystems. She is especially interested in Impact Ventures. Besides startups she loves hiking, reading and exploring new countries and places.


Alma Nathanaili
Project Manager

Alma is a management and project consultant with 13+ years of professional experience. Her expertise involves program development, project management, grant applications, digitalization consultancy, audit and financial management. She is currently working with CBS as Project Manager for IntoAlbania, a $1.1 Million development program supporting economic growth in tourism through the increase of digital resources in the sector. In the past she has been actively involved in other technological projects for the development of digital solutions that facilitate access to finance for the agriculture SMEs. Alma has previously worked with international audit firms such as KPMG and Grant Thornton. Her clients included central banking, banking & financial institutions, insurances, public companies, energy, healthcare, construction and NGOs. Alma graduated in Finance & Banking at University of Tirana and holds a Master Degree in European Economics from the University of Tirana & Bamberg University. Since 2015, she is an internationally certified auditor and Member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Global Body of Professional Accountants and Auditors. She also holds the title of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Albania.
