Fintech Brisbane Startup Weekend

The Financial Services industry is the largest and fastest growing sector in Australia. The Australian government has even made Fintech a priority for it's importance! Fintech hubs have been opening up around Australia, and there already over 20 Fintech's operating out of Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Join us at the much awaited Fintech Brisbane Startup Weekend on July 8, 9, 10 and help build the future of financial services.

We have some great sponsors in Finance, Tech and Design offering swag, mentoring, great prizes and assets that will help make the weekend a great success for all our participants.

What is Startup Weekend

The startup movement has accelerated growth in many Brisbane and global industries, and fintech is one the most exciting and rapidly developing industries in the world! Investment in Fintech startups hit an all time high in 2015 - with over $20Bn invested globally. The time for entrepreneurs and innovators to work and invest in their ideas is now.

Our goal for this event is to connect people who are passionate and want to tackle the tough challenges in the financial and fintech industries, to learn-by-doing, firsthand, what makes a business and an idea successful. And in doing so, we'll shape the future of financial services in Australia.

How does Startup Weekend work:

All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model: anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams organically form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and then it’s a 54-hour frenzy of business model creation, market validation, design and coding. The weekends culminate with final pitches in front of local entrepreneurial leaders with another opportunity for critical feedback.
