Developers. Designers. Marketers. Business Folks.

Startup Weekend is your chance to collaborate and get involved with a group of motivated individuals hell-bent on disrupting their industry of choice.

What can you expect?
Anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea. Teams organically form around the top ideas (determined by popular vote). Then, it’s a 54 hour frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation.

The weekend wraps up with teams presenting their startup to local entrepreneurial leaders with an opportunity for critical feedback. It’s not about the prize but it helps.

What they say:
Startup weekend gives you the valuable insight into how to make an idea succeed or fail fast, as Amin Bazzaz and Areej Alsheikh-Hussain, winner of Startup Weekend Women Brisbane 2015
 explains:

"Startup weekend was an intense learning bootcamp which helped us to put all theory into action and validate an ideain 54 hours on a weekend. Excellent opportunity to meet like minded people and grow your network, learn heaps from mentors and teammates and get the most out of our weekend.

Air Sponge started with idea of Areej. She pitched her idea of "Tinder for carwash" and Amin joined her team as a tech teammate on the startup weekend. We launched the website and served 5 customers over the weekend and won the startup weekend. we kept meeting after startup weekend and by using startup weekend prize, we registered the company, then applied for ilab Germinate 8 program and got selected as one of 5 teams. later on we decided to shut down the business and currently, while Amin is working as back end developer at Travello, Areej is working as a Business Development Associate for gemaker
."

What are you waiting for?
Found a company, find a cofounder, meet someone new, or learn a skill far outside your usual 9-to-5. You are guaranteed to leave the event better prepared to navigate the chaotic but fun world of startups. Put yourself in the shoes of an entrepreneur, register now.

About Startup Weekend
Startup Weekends are 54-hour events designed to provide superior experiential education for technical and non-technical entrepreneurs. Beginning with Friday night pitches and continuing through brainstorming, business plan development, and basic prototype creation, Startup Weekends culminate in Sunday night demos and presentations. Participants create working startups during the event and are able to collaborate with like-minded individuals outside of their daily networks. All teams hear talks by industry leaders and receive valuable feedback from local entrepreneurials. The weekend is centered around action, innovation, and education. Whether you are looking for feedback on a idea, a co-founder, specific skill sets, or a team to help you execute, Startup Weekends are the perfect environment in which to test your idea and take the first steps towards launching your own startup.
