Develop a venture in 54 hours!

Do you have an idea you'd like to pursue or a problem you'd like to solve but don't know where to start or who to start with? The hardest part of starting up is starting out and on February 16, UTS is hosting a startup weekend for women across Sydney who are interested in learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures.

You'll be signing up for a 54-hour frenzy where you will experience the highs, lows, fun, and pressure that make up life at a startup. As you learn how to create a real company, you'll meet the very best mentors, investors, cofounders, and sponsors who are there to help you get your idea off the ground. Beginning with Friday night pitches and continuing through brainstorming, business plan development, and basic prototype creation, the weekend will culminate in Sunday night demos and presentations where your team will have the opportunity to pitch to judges and receive valuable feedback from local entrepreneurs.

The theme of this startup weekend is social impact, so we'll be supporting ideas that will have a postive impact on society and contribute to a brighter future for our world. Your idea should be something you have not previously worked on before.

Tickets are $45 for students or unwaged individuals and $60 for everyone else. This covers your participation in the event as well as 7 meals across the weekend!

All participants will recieve $300 in credits for Google Cloud Platforms to help build web and mobile apps as well as a free .CO domain. Participants teams will be in the running to recieve prizes from Coder Academy, Vibewire and EnergyLab with one person from the winning team also being flown to Paris to participate in an international women's startup weekend.

Refund Policy:  No refunds will be granted within 7 days of the event if food and drink have already been ordered. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Terms of Participation Agreement: It is our job to provide you with an incredible networking and learning opportunity. Our intention is that you meet some amazing people that you might actually start a company with, build relationships with coaches, and learn from your peers. The event is intended to be a collaborative forum for sharing, learning, building, and having fun. As such, by registering as a participant, you acknowledge that any ideas shared by you or anyone else over the course of the event are contributions to the overall experience and community. If you as a participant are worried about someone stealing your ideas, please reconsider your participation in the event itself or simply refrain from sharing specifics about your idea.

As a member of your startup community, you agree to to be inclusive of any and all people and their ideas. You agree to act professionally, treat everyone with respect, and treat the event facilities with proper care. You agree that you are responsible for any accidents or damages that you cause. You also agree to not hold Startup Weekend, your local volunteer team, or any of the event supporters liable for any loss, damage, injury, or any other unforeseeable incident.

By Participating at the event, you grant Startup Weekend permission to capture photo/video of the event. You can find the exact legal terms on our FAQ Page but to summarize, we want to share your success with the world.
