Teams start forming and discussing ideas

Start to formalize teams and take an inventory of skills. Be honest, and direct about what resources and skills are needed for the weekend.

Stuart is currently a limited partner in Blackbird Ventures, a venture capital firm based in Sydney and is an investor in software companies Happy Inspector and Portalink.

Stuart Snyder was a cofounder, director, and CFO of YourAmigo Ltd which was the South Australian exporter of the year in 2008. YourAmigo was incorporated in 1999 and successfully commercialised novel search technology acquired from Flinders University. YourAmigo’s was a technology leader in the search marketing space with installations on websites in over 30 different countries, including many of the world’s top 100 ecommerce companies. 

Stuart grew up in Silicon Valley and started his career as a CPA with KPMG in San Jose, California in 1979. Stuart migrated to Adelaide in 1993.

Michael Macolino
Co-founder, Accodex

Michael is the CTO and Co-founder of Accounting Technology startup Accodex. 
An Entrepreneur since the age of 21, Michael has spent the past 12 years building and selling businesses in a range of different industries. 

His core skill is in leveraging technology to build and scale highly efficient data-driven businesses.
Over the years Michael has applied his systematic approach to Car and Boat detailing, Property Development, Gyms, House rentals, Adult Products and Consulting. 
His entrepreneurial abilities have been shaped by formal education in business and project management as well as participation in SAYES, KPMG Elevate 61 and the EO Accelerator program. 

Michael is passionate about the development of startups and entrepreneurship in South Australia, and works closely with startup entrepreneurs with a long term plan and commitment to a cause. 

Sanja Jovanovic

Sanja is the managing director of Talent Academy, a public speaking coach, start up business and is incredibly passionate about entrepreneurship in Adelaide. Her public speaking training works specifically well for those who will ever have to face the press or an pitch scenario. Having mentored at StartUp Weekend in the past, she is familiar with the passion, excitement and pressure that a competitive startup environment presents. Her theatre experience will prove incredibly valuable for those who will have to stand up and present a brand new idea in front of judges and public. 

Chris Hooper

Chris Hooper is the CEO and Co-founder of accounting-tech startup, Accodex Partners.

An Accounting Futurist, he believes that accountants have the ability to change the world (even if they just don't realise it yet).

Being in the business of predicting the future of the accounting profession, Chris is on a life mission to change the accounting game forever.

Leticia Mooney

Leticia Mooney is a serial entrepreneur, writer and critic, and a past place-getter at Startup Weekend. She is currently working in and growing Brutal Pixie, softly launching an offline business, and nurturing a second Pixie brand which will be soft-launched later in 2017.

Sasha Dragovelic

Sasha Dragovelic is an Entrepreneur and Entrepreneurial Educator. Sasha was awarded Mentor of the Year 2016 at the Startup Adelaide Awards. He is Co-founder of Boss Camp and Founder of Futurepreneurs Launchpad and EntrepreTour and over 2000 young people have participated in his programs. Many have started their own businesses. Sasha is also a mentor at NVI Flinders Venture Dorm and several of his mentees were finalists in the eNVIes in 2015 and 2016. Sasha thrives on seeing others succeed and build a meaningful and fulfilling business and life. Sasha also manages The Catalyst Collaborative Coworking Community in Currie Street, Adelaide. 

John Kamuchau

For more than a decade, John has worked in different aspects of tech ranging from software development, consulting, marketing and sales. He worked with a wide range of clients from startups to large enterprise companies.

John is passionate about helping entrepreneurs to not just design and build digital products that solve a problem but create a sustainable and scalable tech business.

John believes that Adelaide has the potential to be the technology powerhouse of the Asia-pacific region. On Startup weekend, John will be looking forward to helping teams easily and cheaply validate their ideas and acquire customers.

Toby Strong

With no previous experience in coffee or FMCG, Toby was the first person in Australia to launch Nespresso compatible coffee pods. This led to Co-Founding Podpac, a successful start-up which in 2016 placed 18th in SmartCompany’s national Smart50 list.

In 2015, Podpac placed 51st and was the top South Australian company on the BRW Fast Starters list and in the same year Toby was also an EY Central Region Entrepreneur of the Year nominee. Podpac products can be found on the shelves of Australia's largest retailer’s including Woolworths, Coles, Harvey Norman, The Good Guys and are also exported to 15 countries.

Tracey Korsten

Tracey Korsten B.A. LL.B GDE, is a public speaker and writer. An active member of Rostrum SA, she has won their Speaker of the Year award twice, the last time in 2016. She has worked as an MC, quiz mistress, marriage celebrant and debater. As well as writing and performing poetry, she blogs, writes regularly for websites and has run many workshops on performance, public speaking and creative writing. Her business helps people to tell their stories, personal or business, through presentation literacy and corporate storytelling. She is a qualified teacher and trainer. 

Geoff Kwitko

Geoff Kwitko is a proven expert in growing and selling companies using digital marketing, sales technology and entrepreneurial thinking.

Geoff founded, grew and sold three of his own technology companies. Then, as a consultant, he was a key part in the successful growth and sale of another three Adelaide based companies.

Now, Geoff runs training workshops where he helps companies to implement his proven digital marketing and sales growth strategies themselves. Over 100 organisations have benefited from Geoff’s training, ranging from small high-tech startups to government departments and ASX listed companies.

Stuart Austin

Stuart is an interaction designer, who specialises in user experience, rapid prototyping, customer based design and system mapping. He has worked for enterprise, startups and government, also running his own businesses and startups. Whilst managing clients, design and programming teams, he has developed a rounded approach to product design, and problem solving and delivering solutions. Currently, he is working on app development, ecommerce platform implementation and scaling, and for not-for-profits in developing internal systems.

Simone Douglas

Simone Douglas is the CEO of Social Media AOK, a highly sought-after speaker and consultant on all aspects of social media and business.
Her strong practical focus on tangible outcomes combined with an extensive background in business, change management and process improvement has seen her work with all types of businesses from the local hairdresser, through to the Attorney-General’s Department, and everything in between. 
She is also currently chair of the State Advisory Committee for the South Australian arm of the Australian Marketing Institute and serving on the Board of Fresh FM.

Bill Chin

Bill Chin is a passionate and experienced business development and strategy management professional having successfully served senior roles leading global business development managing sales, and marketing across major continents in Asia, Greater China, Europe, India, Middle East, and USA.

Hing-wah Kwok

Hing-Wah is a technology generalist with a passion for developing software products which delight customers. He has over 10 years experience leading teams to build enterprise applications in aid of Australian Defence Force operations. He brings experience taking products from initial conceptualisation through  to delivery and support. Hing-Wah hopes to help any teams looking to build products, team building and strategic visioning.
