Startup Weekend Dhaka is your destination for the weekend of May 18- 20th! SD Asia is organizing the event which will be held at GP House, Bashundhara.
Anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams organically form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and then it’s a 54-hour frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. The weekends culminate with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders with another opportunity for critical feedback.

Solaiman has a total of 15 years of professional experience in the FMCG and telecom industry in various roles spanning marketing, product management, brand communication, PR, trade marketing and sales.
He played key role at the formation of different business enterprises of BRAC such as BRAC Bank, BRAC BdMail Network limited (an internet service provider), BRAC Services limited (hospitality services), BRAC Reanata Agro Industries limited (poultry Farm). He was nominated Director(on behalf of BRAC) in Delta BRAC Housing Finance corporation limited, BRAC Bdmail network ltd, BRAC Reanata Agro Industries ltd, BRAC Services ltd. Hossain Played pivotal role in setting up a multinational bank in Afghanistan named BRAC Afghanistan Bank whose shareholders were BRAC; IFC; Shorecap, USA and Triodos Bank, Netherland.
Head of Telenor Digital Products, Grameenphone
She moved on to Digital Services in 2015 and played the key role in achieving growth of WowBox, the biggest digital platform with local content in Bangladesh. As Head of Telenor Digital Digital Products in GP she is now driving multiple projects which include WowBox, My Contacts & Capture cloud storage platform. Her contribution to GP & Telenor Group continues with further scaling of existing and building new digital products.
Farhana is a Business Graduate from Institute of Business Administration (IBA) in Dhaka University. She is also an Artist and an active voice in the Women Inspirational Network (WIN) Forum for Telenor. The forum is to drive Women Leadership across global business unit.

Hashmi is currently working as part of Google's South Asian Emerging Markets team. He is focused on growing the digital advertising ecosystem of Bangladeshi advertisers & agencies using Google's digital advertising solutions.
Fayaz was the CEO of Fortuna and managing all aspects of the business including marketing, production, development, financial forecasting, material sourcing, and digitizing way of work in the company. Managing multiple teams cross border with offices in China and Bangladesh.
Director of IBT, which was announced as one of the winners of the FbFund in 2008 in social gaming. Helped reached over 1 million users and daily monetization. IBT was also a tech partner in socialbuy.com which was sold to kbgdeals.
Co-Founder at Startup Dhaka which is a platform for startups and investors in Bangladesh. We are currently operating the Grameenphone Accelerator, launched a new pitching show called Tiger Cage, and an education platform called Upskill in Bangladesh. Working as a in-house mentor as well as mentor to tech other startups.
Currently, he is actively working in startup scene in Bangladesh for possible investment in tech startups and also involved in building the startup community.
He specialized in business development, sales, team building, project management & business analysis. His experience in sales/project management/business analysis in different parts of the world allows his to work across different departments of a business with a wide target audience.
As a Tech Enthusiast, he is always in the look out for potential investment opportunities and mentoring new entrepreneurs.

Luca has been active in ecosystem development in Vietnam, organizing CrowdPitch Hanoi startup competition, participating to community events as judge and mentor (Angelhack, Techfest, Hebronstar Advance) and taking part to to several roundtables on Venture Capital investing.
He is also a co-founder of two active seed stage ventures: Chemycal.com (Netherlands based Enterprise B2B SaaS) and Caza.vn (home décor e-commerce in Vietnam).
His expertise also includes usability analysis with a focus in cognitive thinking from a user standpoint.
Can handle diverse responsibilities and that makes him a significant asset to any company. His goal is to provide outstanding value as a designer and as a team member.
He founded his own startup Speaking Walls inspired by his passion. He is currently working with Grameenphone as a specialist in Product Marketing
Achia started her career as a junior Software engineer and when soon got promoted as a CTO of a Software firm. She quit my job to start her own business. She has work experience at Dell, Microsoft, J&J, HP, Epson, HTC, Nokia etc. top notch company and she has launched different type of IT product in international market. In Bangladesh, she has successfully launched Maya Apa mobile application.
Now she is working at my her organization Women in Digital. It’s an initiative of Bangladesh. Now they are working in 18 districts of Bangladesh and 5 different countries of the world. Their main motto is “Empowerment through Technology”. They have 15 in house women developer. They are also working for international market.
He started his career with Citi N.A. as a Management Associate (MA) and has since then worked in a variety of episodic deals including Bangladesh's first Interest Rate Swap, Equity Convertible Bonds, Largest IPO, Microfinance Securitization and Block Equity Trades. After graduating from the MA program, Bijon's chief responsibility revolved around leading the strategy planning and analysis unit. Working with regional teams across Singapore, Hong Kong, and India, he played a major role in aligning Bangladesh as an important piece in Citi's growth strategy in Asia. Due to outstanding performance, Bijon had received the CEO Excellence Awards for two years in a row in the organization.
In his experience, he has developed web application and mobile application for numerous companies. He likes to learn and use new technologies and always try to find the easiest way to solve problem.
