Startup Weekend Varna- Smart City!

We're coming back! We're Startup Weekend community. Brace yourself for the next awesome event!

Come start a company, learn something new, test your developer skills, maybe meet your future co-founder – either way you’ll have the most fun you’ve ever had! Startup Weekend is a 54-hour event where developers, designers and business folks come together to pitch an idea and launch a business, all in one weekend. It is a great opportunity to test startup ideas, meet potential co-founders, build the community in Varna and launch your next startup!

Everything happens like a competition – jury, consisting of professionals, investors and business angels, is judging the final businesses. This event gives an incredible opportunity for making contacts with specialists from various areas.

Anyone is more than welcome to pitch a startup idea, work with awesome coaches and get a feedback from our jury.

Getting your idea funded is quite exciting so you better do your best to impress investors and accelerators.

Speakers


Mircea Vadan

Mircea’s focus is on digital products and acceleration programs for tech startups. Along the years he worked in 3 startups as business developer, marketing or product manager.In the last two years he focused on creating acceleration programs for startups and workshops on topics like customer validation, product definition, product metrics, user acquisition, user engagement and investment. He worked with around 50 startups and IT companies, as mentor or consultant.

He is driven to help startups and is active in the tech startups community (Cluj Startups)

Aaron Jennings

He is an industrial designer and entrepreneur with a passion for technology, design and 3D printing. With his years of knowledge and experience in 3D printing, Aaron joined Polymaker - a company engineering and developing the best and most innovative materials for the 3D printing industry. Becoming a prominent figure in the industry, Aaron was involved in three highly successful 3D printing Kickstarter’s campaigns from Raise 3D, Kodama Trinus and most notably Polymaker’s revolutionary PolySmooth and Polisher Machine for which he conceptualised and designed the unit’s functional aesthetics. Now living in Varna Bulgaria, Aaron is the founder and owner of his new company ProFab3D. 
With a small international team, ProFab 3D aims to give an opportunity to new users, hobbyists, schools and businesses alike to take advantage of the 3D printing technology by bringing to market an affordable and easy to use comprehensive 3D printing solution - the ProFab Mini and ProFab Premium PLA.


Galina Momcheva

Head of Department of Computer Science, Varna Free University 'Chernorizets Hrabar'
Co-founder of Inovacii i Konsultirane  Ltd
Assoc. Prof. Galina Momcheva has the following areas of interest:
- UX/UI
- NUI
- Programming
- Data Structures and Algorithms
During her 20 years' experience she was a mentor of outstanding projects of  superior students. She is the founder of 'Computer Games and Animations' master degree program at VFU and ScratchBG group of volunteers that develop activities with visual programming.

Kseniia Vinogradova is the CEO and Founder of the smart home startup FlipFlic

She has gone through Estonian and US hardware accelerators, been in the Valley, raised money from business angels and Kickstarter 


Julian Sapundzhiev
Software Engineer

Юлиян има повече от 10 години технически опит като софтуерен разработчик с богат опит в разработването на софтуер под Windows с помощта на езиците C++, C# и платформата .NET. Той е съосновател на фирма Микродор ООД, която се занимава с разработването на CAD система за дизайн и изработка на облекло. Дълги години работи в областа на разработка на системи за текстиланата промишленост по проекти на едни от най развитите международни компании в областа. Започва да се занимава с езика C# и платформата .NET веднага след излизане на версия 2.0 и до ден днешен работи интензивно по проекти в областа на настолните, мобилни и уеб приложения. Ръководи проекта спечелил първо място на Startup Weekend Varna 2014, където отново залага на C# и .NET за изработката на начален прототип и развитие на идеята


Nikolay Milanov, Jo

The artist with an interest in any modern media. Highly experienced in the field of graphic design, digital arts and their use conceptual projects of the foundation of the studio AffectMedia. Nikolay a.k.a. Joking jumped via his skateboard into business so young and of course was a star because of his diverse talents and responsible attitude to work which surprised his parents and most of his friends the same way his slang confused many of his cleints but his extraordinary sense of humor can make your day better and ultimatelly everyone falls in love with him or his business manner.


Iavor Panev
Архитект

Явор Панев е млад архитект завършил Варненски свободен университет „Черноризец Храбър“. Още като ученик започва да учи архитектура в Софийската гимназия по строителство, архитектура и геодезия „Христо Ботев“. Специализирал е по темата „Устойчива архитектура“ в Барселона, Испания и „Устойчиви строителни материали“ Лисабон, Португалия.Част е от Българския съвет за устойчиво строителство (BGBC) още от основаването му.
Регистриран е по немската система за сертифициране на устойчиви проекти (DGNB).
Работи като архитект във Варна и София.


Nadina Tasheva

Nadina Tasheva is a business development expert with more than ten years of experience in the sectors of entrepreneurship, business consultancy and education. Her focus has mostly been on the development and implementation of mentorship and coaching programs for entrepreneurs and SMEs, supporting them to complete successfully their endeavours by providing them with know-how and networks. Throughout the years Ms Tasheva has been established contacts with various national and international partner organizations, customers, trainers and experts and has built a vast network. She participates actively in campaigns for raising awareness on business, social and environmental topics and plays an important role in the creation of an entrepreneurship ecosystem in Bulgaria.
