It's time to start winning!

Startup Weekend is a global grassroots movement of active and empowered entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures. It is the largest community of passionate entrepreneurs with over 400 past events in 100 countries around the world in 2011.

The non-profit organization is headquartered in Seattle, Washington but Startup Weekend organizers and facilitators can be found in over 200 cities around the world. From Mongolia to South Africa to London to Brazil, people around the globe are coming together for weekend long workshops to pitch ideas, form teams, and start companies.

All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model: anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams organically form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and then it’s a 54 hour frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. The weekends culminate with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders with another opportunity for critical feedback.

Whether entrepreneurs found companies, find a cofounder, meet someone new, or learn a skill far outside their usual 9-to-5, everyone is guaranteed to leave the event better prepared to navigate the chaotic but fun world of startups. If you want to put yourself in the shoes of an entrepreneur, register now for the best weekend of your life!

Coaches and Mentors

Ivo Ivanov
Head of Design,

Ivo has 8 years experience as UX & UI designer. He’s currently working as a Head of design at - Irish company, building awesome SaaS products for project management, customer support and team chat. He’s been dealing with a lot of different stuff, but his first entrepreneurial experience began when he opened his own real estate agency. There he gained a lot of experience in sales. In 2008 when economic crisis struck, the business got slow, so he had to turn – 360°. For fun in the office he has been playing around with Photoshop and while waiting for a worthy client to miraculously show up, he managed to get pretty handy in it. So the crisis had pretty positive effect on him – since then he started working as an UI/UX freelance designer. He has worked on all kinds of projects from small company websites in major gateways to some of the largest online stores in Bulgaria. From 2011 onwards he worked with startups from all over the world – eg Neil Patel (Crazy Egg and KISSmetrics), Brian Moran (Get 10,000 Fans), Clay Collins (LeadPages), etc. He has learned a lot from some of the greatest minds in the online marketing and he'll be glad to share it. Ivo is a startup freak and a huge fan of Startup Weekend -  this is gonna be the 10th Startup Weekend he’s attending, so he really knows what it’s all about, what you should do and what you should focus on for the weekend. He can help you with ideas for user experience, user onboarding, usability, customer validation, monetization, project management and any kind of design advices.
