Stephen Paterson
Co-Founder and Program Coordinator of the Mekong Business Challenge

Stephen Paterson is the Co-Founder and Program Coordinator of the Mekong Business Challenge, which is an entrepreneurship program and competition involving universities from Bhutan, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and Yunnan Province, China.  The Mekong Challenge is conducted in partnership with the international consulting firm McKinsey & Company.

Stephen has been involved in entrepreneurship education in Cambodia and the ASEAN region for more than 10 years.  He currently serves as a Senior Advisor and Program Coordinator for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at the National University of Management in Phnom Penh.  In addition to teaching several courses on entrepreneurship and innovation, Stephen also serves as the Coordinator for the BMC Startup Accelerator Program in Cambodia and is also actively involved in the  National Competition in Yangon, Myanmar.  

Stephen is a Canadian citizen and received his Master’s Degree from the University of Toronto, and his Bachelor’s Degree from Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

Janice Wilson
E-commerce advisor at Ministry of Commerce

Janice Wilson founded and leads ARJUNI International Ltd, a successful social enterprise based in Cambodia that manufactures and retails human hair products. ARJUNI’s sensible approach to balancing consumption and contribution has resulted in feature news stories by the New York Times, Huffington Post and the BBC.

Divon Lan
Emerging Markets Entrepreneur

From 2007 to 2016, Divon was with Google where he was responsible for "Frontier Markets" and focused on extending Google's infrastructure, products and programs to reach people in developing countries as well as working on the ground in 50+ developing countries throughout Asia and Africa, to help grow and empower the local technology communities in these countries. Prior to Google, Divon was the founder and CEO of a technology startup in Silicon Valley and Israel. Divon holds an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania - Wharton and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the Technion Israel institute of technology.

Calen Martin Legaspi
CEO, Orange & Bronze Software Labs

Calen Legaspi founded Orange & Bronze Software Labs in 2005, a Philippine software development company that implements large, mission-critical systems for multinational companies across industries - including telecommunications, banking, and healthcare. Many of the systems O&B develops handle millions of concurrent users and billions of dollars worth of financial transactions. In just 9 years, Calenhas successfully grown O&B to almost 100 employees. 

Calen has initiated programs that support the Philippine academe: by providing training to teachers through the Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators, authoring technology modules for TESDA, developing responsive IT education curricula for the Commission on Higher Education, and contributing to programs aimed at enhancing the skills of IT educators.

Calen is a Sun Certified Enterprise Architect, Certified Web Component Developer, and a Certified Java Programmer. He co-founded the Association of Philippine Java Developers and served as the organization's president for six years. He is also on his 7th term on the board of the Philippine Software Industry Association.

Greta Greathouse
Chief of Party | Development Innovations

Greta  K. Greathouse is currently Chief of Party of the USAID project Development Innovations which is being implemented by Development Alternatives Inc. Development Innovations seeks to grow a community of innovators who can take ideas and with the use of technology  turn them into solutions that make Cambodia a better place.  An international banker with 30 years of experience and a broad range of expertise in financial services, financial inclusion and technology, she has worked  both in the private sector and for donor programs.  Prior to Cambodia, she spent eight years in Haiti, running consecutive USAID programs that focused on financial inclusion and the use of technology.

Coaches and Mentors

Channe Suy Lan
Regional Lead at InSTEDD Innovation Lab South East Asia

Channe manages the InSTEDD Innovation Lab, Southeast Asia, a technology non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to building local capacity and open source solutions to address development challenges such as health, safety and disaster management in the Mekong region.

She was a co-organizer of Cambodia Startup Weekend 2013, a co-founder of ShareVisionTeam - a grassroots volunteer team of Cambodian developers, a co-founder of Snadai - a fair trade social start-up. In 2011 she spoke at the first TedX in Phnom Penh about Building the Future of Cambodia. 

Channe holds a Master degree in Computer Application from Bangalore University in India in 2006.

Darren Jensen
CEO - Rotati

Darren Jensen has 14 years of professional software development experience working for a number of industries including Banking, Insurance, Telcos, Directories and Startups.

Albert Lee
Vice President | MekongNet

Albert's been in the telecom and internet industry for about 20 years, with work in speech recognition, VOIP, and eCommerce. Originally from Canada, he has been in Asia for the past decade, working in Singapore, China, Indonesia, and now, Cambodia. He has a degree in Engineering Science and an MBA from the University of Toronto. Albert is currently working at MekongNet, managing various services and websites.

Mike Gaertner
COO - Sabay Digital

Mike is a Network Manager, Network Architect, Application Developer and Project Manager with broad experience in IP centric networks and web based client/server applications. Interested in designing and implementing networks and networked applications in a challenging environments in emerging markets around the world. 
Mike is currently working as COO at Sabay Digital. He is in charge of daily operations, including Network Management, Technical Support, Game Support, Game Planning and Development.

Dominik Stankowski
Executive Director at Web Essentials

Dominik Stankowski is Co-Founder and Executive Director of Web Essentials, a social business and TYPO3 company based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. He contributes to the TYPO3 community as a member of the EAB and is a visionary in the Web development field actively redefining Web development and outsourcing practices in collaboration with over 20 TYPO3 companies in Europe and the US.

Dave Wilkie
Founder - Chibi

David Wilkie is an entrepreneur originally from Melbourne, Australia but has been in SE Asia since 2009. Now he's finally married and settled down in Phnom Penh, he runs a Mobile Dating and Matchmaking Service called Chibi which began after winning the first Startup Weekend in Cambodia back in 2011. In his free time he likes speaking Khmer and annoying his wife.

Jesse Orndorff
Owner - Bearded Design

Jesse Orndorff is a UI & UX designer from Seattle, Washington. Jesse has had the privilege of working with some of the largest companies in the world including: Toyota, Hyundai, Volkswagen, and Google. His work has been featured in the New York Times, AOL, CNN, Yahoo! and the Wall Street Journal.
Jesse is also the founder of Glean, a design and development studio focused on developing online platforms for large businesses and NGOs. He is also the designer and developer of Taste Phnom, an iOS app for discovering restaurants in Phnom Penh.

Angela Nägele

Angela is a German user experience designer with a strong focus on concept development and mobile design. The last 4 years, she worked as a Senior User Experience Designer at Nokia shaping innovative product concepts and user experiences for the outdoors. Since April this year, she is on a sabbatical and travels the world. She loves working in an agile and international environment involving people from various disciplines. 

Akira Morita
Founder - Design Kompany

Akira Morita is 1/2 of Design Kompany, a roving design consultancy with clients in North America, Europe and Asia. DK has helped hundreds of fellow small businesses and organizations find their soul and express it fully—architects in need of words and pictures that uniquely express their life and business philosophies, software engineers needing creative help in development of a gamified mHealth mobile app., a startup icecream shop wanting to make a splash. He is passionate about helping organizations adopt design as a multi-disciplinary approach to problem solving, and is a starting member of Design Phnom Penh, a local initiative of Cambodia's design curious and practitioners.

He is currently on hand as a resident innovation design consultant at Development Innovations, a USAID-funded initiative aimed to promote and nurture innovative culture in the field of social change in Cambodia.
