The Startup Weekend HEC Montreal, powered by the entrepreneur association of HEC Montréal - YEP, will finally be back on November 11th, 12th and 13th. This year, the theme will focus on Fashion.

* ABOUT THE EVENT *   The Startup Weekend is an entrepreneurial competition where participants have 54h to create a viable business project. The project will then be evaluated by professionals of the industry. This event, now seen as a project accelerator, aims to offer participants a unique learning opportunity, based on action, innovation and education. The Startup Weekend begins on Friday night with the "pitch fire" and continues throughout a weekend, during which participants build their project, from the business plan to the prototype. It ends on Sunday night with the final presentations of projects in front of the jury composed of experts and professionals.

* FASHION * Fashion is a phenomenon that has affected many people and that is rooted in society over the years. Regarded as an eternal renewal of trends, fashion should allow new startups to emerge with innovative ideas. Fashion in Montreal is part of the DNA of the city. Jostled by digital change, taking a turn to the design and marketing, the fashion industry in Montreal continues to transform. Whether the effects of e-commerce, social networks, the industry is once again upset by the digital era. Especially with the arrival of the fashion 2.0, the phenomenon is the result of a highly connected generation of entrepreneurs. It is as a result of fresh innovation and creativity that these entrepreneurs emerge in the industry. Based on 3 pillars: fashion, business and technologies, Startup Weekend will be the moment to bring together entrepreneurs who have the same interests and values. From designers to programmers, participants will be at the forefront of a cutting edge field

* WHY PARTICIPATE * The Startup Weekend offers an opportunity for participants to go from an idea to a business project, while being surrounded by professionals.

This event is the occasion:
• to learn from experience, putting into practice your knowledge;
