3 Days, 54 Hours, Infinite Ideas

Do you have a startup idea, but have no clue where to begin?
Look no further.

Techstars Startup Weekend is where it’s at. Bring your idea, look for a team, create a prototype and kickstart your business with feedback from seasoned entrepreneurs. All in one weekend.

What to expect from this event.

You'll pitch your own idea or listen to others, then vote on the most interesting ideas and form teams with diverse skill sets. It’s a chance to learn, network, bridge the gap between trades, expose potential and see actual results. You can come with friends, but you’ll get the full experience if you participate in separate teams.

Coming into the event, your idea should be something you have not previously worked on. The idea you pitch and the problem you set out to solve can span social, educational, financial, environmental, or other issues. Over the course of the weekend you'll be challenged to create a prototype of your minimum viable product that fits the needs of your target customer. You'll get feedback, iterate, and likely pivot your approach entirely! Important: You cannot have worked previously on your idea.

Techstars Startup Weekend is a full weekend long experience.
Your ticket includes:
  • 7 full (and delicious) meals over the course of the weekend
  • Benefits and discounts from our global partners
  • One-on-one time with amazing mentors
  • A new network of developers, designers, and entrepreneurs eager, like you, to change the world.
  • All the internet, coffee and bagels you can consume.

What’s on the itinerary?

Friday, May 11th 2018
You’ll meet the organizers and facilitators. You’ll then pitch your ideas and join a team, and lastly get on the same page with your teammates and do some brainstorming.

Saturday, May 12th 2018
You’ll begin working with your teams to develop your Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and business model. You’ll also be given the opportunity to meet with coaches who are well established in the Montreal startup community. They’ll provide feedback which may make or break your idea, but ultimately help you find the best version of it.

Sunday, May 13th 2018
You’ll finish development of your idea, prepare a pitch. You’ll be given the opportunity to practice your pitch and get feedback from coaches, before finally pitching to our panel of highly esteemed Judges. In the end, a top three teams will be chosen and prizes will be given out!
