Friday November 10th

Transportion to Venue
Get on the Startup Bus (with pick ups at CNA Main Campus, MUN Student Centre, Avalon Mall bus stop)


6:30 pm
Registration
Arrive at the venue and get checked in


7:00 pm
Nutrition & Networking
Eat food, share ideas, practice pitches, get to know fellow participants


7:20 pm
Welcome & Speakers
Review agenda for the weekend and introduce speakers, coaches, and community leaders


7:30 pm
Quick Pitches
Line up, take 60 seconds to present your idea. Tell others why they should join your team.


7:45 pm
Voting
Attendees vote for the top pitches


8:00 pm
Form Teams
Teams start forming and discussing ideas


8:30 pm
Begin Work
Start to formalize teams and take an inventory of skills. Be honest, and direct about what resources and skills are needed for the weekend. You may stay and work as late as the venue will allow


9:00 pm
Transportation to St. John's
Get on the bus (with stops at CNA Main Campus, MUN Student Centre, Avalon Mall bus stop)

Saturday November 11th

Transportation to Startup Weekend Venue

Arrive, simple breakfast & coffee

Teams formed and setting up workspace for the weekend

Eat, drink and plan your next steps

Coaching Sessions
Coaches will be available to give you good advice. Ask questions and get answers.

Libby Carew

Libby Carew launched Libby Carew Communications and Public Relations in 2011 after more than 15 years working both the corporate and agency sides of public relations, communications and branding. 


Blair Winsor
Assistant Professor, Entrepreneurship

Dr. Blair Winsor joined the Faculty of Business Administration at Memorial University in August 2013, having taught entrepreneurship, innovation management and small business management-related topics at Edinburgh Napier University in the United Kingdom (UK) for the past 11 years. In addition, to having been an angel investor and consultant to a variety of businesses in Canada and the UK, he has been part of the management team in a number of small businesses ranging from a family-owned corner store operation to a United States-based technology start-up.He completed a bachelor of arts in political science at Memorial, a bachelor of laws at the University of Ottawa, a master of business administration at the Luigi Bocconi Commercial University in Italy, and a doctor of philosophy at University of Warwick Business School in the UK. Dr. Winsor also has a diploma in French from the University of Quebec at Chicoutimi and a post-graduate certificate in teaching and learning in higher education from Edinburgh Napier University.
