All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model:
- Anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers;
- Teams are formed around the top ideas (determined by popular vote);
- Then it’s a 54 hour frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation.
- The weekend culminates with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders with another opportunity for critical feedback.

Now, as a clinical psychologist, Jamie wants to make sure that support is always available for teens who are struggling.
In 2012, she co-created a positive youth development organisation where her team delivers in-school programmes and support for at-risk teens across Hong Kong.
However, she began to realise that in-person psychological services are limited in scale, leaving many students’ needs unmet. To address this, Jamie founded LULIO [www.lul.io] in 2015 to help schools better understand their students’ mental health needs with accurate and scalable digital depression screening. LULIO offers tools for better communication and strengthened relationships between schools, parents, and teens.
In recognition of her on-going work to help at-risk youth, Jamie was selected as a Forbes 30 Under 30 in Asia for Social Entrepreneurship.
