Join the first Public Services Startup Weekend in Czech Republic.

Technology created a lot of space for improvement in public services. Do you have an idea what to do about do it? Attend Startup Weekend Prague and make it happened. SW is a great platform for meeting new people, building and launching new products.
Startup Weekend Prague – Public Services #SWPrague brings together people of all skill sets and experience levels to reimagine the future of public services or simply irritate the current state. Over the course of this action-oriented weekend, you will be able to design solutions, tools, and learning spaces to address public services most pressing issues and turn an idea into a startup/solution in just 54 hours.

At #SWPrague you will be able to connect with business professionals, designers, students, developers and domain experts (majors, public service solution experts, etc.) to conceptualize and build viable products, services, and public services solutions that can revolutionize the ways in which we interact with government and its services today. Join us to explore how innovation can disrupt inequities in public sector. We highly encourage public sector representatives to join us. You’re the experts. You see the problems day-to-day. You know the best what is needed. 

About Startup Weekend: Startup Weekends are 54-hour events designed to provide superior experiential education for technical and non-technical entrepreneurs. Beginning with Friday night pitches and continuing through brainstorming, business plan development, and basic prototype creation, Startup Weekends culminate in Sunday night demos and presentations. Participants create working startups during the event and are able to collaborate with like-minded individuals outside of their daily networks. All teams hear talks by industry leaders and receive valuable feedback from local entrepreneurials. The weekend is centered around action, innovation, and education.  Whether you are looking for feedback on an idea, a co-founder, specific skill sets, or a team to help you execute, Startup Weekends are the perfect environment in which to test your idea and take the first steps towards launching your own startup.

Michal Koran
Founder of Global Arena Research Institute

Michal Kořan is the President of the Board of the Global Arena Research Institute and the former Deputy Director of the Aspen Institute Central Europe. Until June 2017, he was a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of International Relations based in Prague (Czech Republic) where he previously acted as a Deputy Director (2013 – 2016) and a Head of Research (2009 – 2013). He is also an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Masaryk University in Brno, where he received his Ph.D. in 2008. In 2012 he was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at the Harvard University. He focuses on foreign policy analysis of the Central European countries, Central European sub-regional cooperation and Central Europe in European and World Affairs and in Trans-Atlantic Relations. He is the lead-author of an annual book analysing Czech foreign policy and founder and programme chair of an annual International Symposium Czech Foreign Policy. In 2013 – 2014 he was a vice-chairman of the Programme Council of the Czech-Polish Forum. He was a main coordinator of the Strategic Grant of the International Visegrad Fund

Guillaume Fournier
Associate at Credo Ventures

Guillaume joined Credo Ventures after obtaining his MBA from INSEAD. He first started his career with an internship at Goldman Sachs in the US, and then worked as a strategy consultant in Kaiser Associates' London office. Prior to obtaining his MBA, Guillaume also spent a year gaining experience in VC as an associate in newly established fund Athene Capital. Guillaume enjoys bouldering, kite surf, squash and board games.

Project Manager at GoodAI

Daria's mission in GoodAI is shaping AI ecosystem in CEE to empower the research on general-purpose AI - software that can learn, be creative, and adapt to the environment in the way a human does. This is done via various activities, lectures, events and projects both for research and businesses - such as General AI Challenge, an international citizen science project launched by GoodAI with $5mil in prizes. With background in IT management consulting and business development in Russia, Belgium and Czech Republic, Daria can offer a unique combination of business and technical expertise.


Michaela Fiasová
Art Director & Brand Designer

An Art Director, Designer, Strategist and Consultant with the entrepreneurial spirit. With more than 6 years of experience in the design business field, she helps brands uncover deep insights about themselves and help them share inspiring stories. She has worked with brands of all sizes to develop successful strategies which help launch new products, services and experiences into the world. 

You may see one of her events, read her articles or seen her work in Forbes, Computer Arts Magazine, Startitup, Trend,… I've been fortunate to make ideas reality for clients like Volvo, Lenovo, Alpine pro, TEDx or Solved.


Petr Bela
Co-founder & CTO at Flex TV

Petr is an experienced software engineer, entrepreneur, investor and advisor. He currently serves as CTO of Flex TV, the first live social home fitness workout platform. Prior to starting Flex TV, he worked at Chute, a San Francisco-based YC W12 alumni, for almost four years, helping scale the platform from seed stage to becoming a global player in the visual marketing automation space. Before joining Chute, he co-founded two startups in the Czech Republic: one fail and one exit. Petr can help you with identifying your customer, scaling your application, and focusing on building the right thing.


Kotmel Benedikt
Head of Prague Data Platform Department

Benedikt works for Operátor ICT as Head of Prague Data Platform Department. Benedikt is leading a team of developers, data analysts and consultants with the aim of integration of various city data sources to Prague Data Platform, interconnection, evaluation, visualization and provision back to the city and the public in both open data format and user-friendly form. Over the past four years, as a civil servant at the Ministry of Finance, Benedikt has strongly focused on Open data and transparency and received various awards for promoting and explaining the concept to public administration. Benedikt has previous experiences from IT & Management consulting and market research.


Martin Kopeček
Leader of the Open data project at Ministry of Finance

Martin is a leader of the Open data project at Ministry of Finance. This project aims to provide the public, the universities and the press with various datasets produced or collected by the ministry of finance as well as create interpretations and visualizations of these datasets. Ministry of finance has been the first ministry to actively publish open data and fights to hold its position among open data leaders in the Czech Republic. Martin has also got experience as a front end developer on various projects both older and recent and in his previous job worked as a data management analyst.
