Your opportunity to make a dream come true

Do you want to improve the current Danish healthcare system? Do you want to learn about building a business? Do you have an idea you would like to test and develop?
Then join Startup Weekend Aarhus Health for a 54 hours fun startup event about idea generation, business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation.  

If you have a business idea, this is your chance to go ahead with it and form an awesome team. If you are simply an entrepreneurial passionate with no idea currently, you can come and join someone else’s team. It is all about the start-up spirit!  

Who should attend Statup Weekend Aarhus Health?
Come join us if you are a nurse, programmer, designer, doctor, developer, marketer, researcher, physiotherapist, student, engineer, work in a company, social care helper, entrepreneurial spirit or a whole third.

Why Startup Weekend Health?

This Startup Weekend puts the spotlight on Health because it offers both huge challenges in our society as well as great business potentials. Our goal is to bring together the healthcare community, designers, IT-profiles and entrepreneurs to facilitate the formation of new ideas. 

Practical information
You can sleep for free at the event venue. You need to bring a sleeping bag and/or blanket. 

If you want
 to watch the final pitches and celebrate the winners bye a Sunday ticket which includes a sandwich and drinks. You are welcome from 3.30 PM

Form Teams
Teams start forming and discussing ideas

Begin Work
Start to formalize teams and take an inventory of skills. Be honest, and direct about what resources and skills are needed for the weekend. You may stay and work as late as the venue will allow

Anette Nørgaard
Microsoft Partners, Bizspark and Dreamspark

Anette started her career by developing applications on mainframes, converting these to PC applications. She got into the world of XAL, Axapta and ended up at Oracle before starting a business with Microsoft. Since 2010 she has been working with small and medium companies through Microsoft BizSpark and DreamSpark. With a wide set of expertise from technical areas as cloud computing and SQLserver to business development and startups. 

Henrik Lundum
Managing director Falck Healthcare

Overall responsible for Falck Healthcare in Denmark.
Strategy, budget and business development.

Falck Healthcare is the leading provider of Healthcare services in Denmark, both in terms of size and quality.
Overall strategist working in various boards with strategic challenges.

Author of several articles on management and strategy, lastest a book on Balanced Scorecard implementation.

Peter Friese
Vice-President at VIA University College

Since January 2010 Peter Friese has been the Pro-Rector of VIA University College. Peter is part of the Rector’s Office, VIA’s Senior Management and has a strategic responsibility for VIA’s focus on entrepreneurship. 

Previously Peter has been rector at The National Institute for Social 
Educators in Aarhus. 
Peter is the co-founder and for 10 years chairman for the international well-known training project “The KaosPilots”, a 3 year project-leader and business development program, rewarded as youth program of the year in 1994 by Unesco.

Ivan Kjær
Head of Health and Assisted Living Technologies, Municipality of Aarhus

Ivan Kjær Lauridsen has years of experience with implemention of the latest welfare technology in Aarhus municipality. He has a sharp eye when seeing economical and wellfare gain when using new solutions and technologies for the elderly and in rehabilitation. Ivan is a proponent of the long term benefits of the municipalities early involment in selected projects.

Bo Sejer Frandsen is CEO for it-forum – the largest Danish IT cluster organization and is president for PIN-SME – the European association of ICT small Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs).
He has been member of the National advisory board for ICT and is one of the ICT professionals being consulted regarding ICT policies.
In addition he has been serial entrepreneur and started 6 different ICT companies together with professional investors and is currently active as Board member / Chairman in 8 ICT companies.

Lasse Chor
CEO of Happy 42 - Entrepreneur and Investor

Lasse Chor is a Danish entrepreneur who founded his first company at the age of 13-years-old. Since then he's been heavily involved in the Danish and global entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Through his current company, Lasse is currently mentor for a number of startups around the world, and advisor to a handful of large corporations including some Fortune 500 companies. Bonus info is that Lasse’s mom thinks that he’s is the best son in the world.

Jesper Grode
Associate Professor, Ph.D. Head of Programme for Applied Research and Development in Welfare Technology, VIA University College

Jesper is senior lecturer at the ICT Engineering study line at VIA University College as well as being overall responsible for research and development activities within welfare technology at VIA School of Technology and Business. Jesper has vast experience with IT development projects from 13 years in the private IT sector. Combined with an eye for cross-disciplinary business opportunities and a research background in computer science, Jesper is currently starting up and managing a number of research and development projects within, in particular, IT oriented welfare technology projects, both nationally and internationally.

Walther Fledelius
Assistant professor, Ph.D.

Walther is a lecturer and researcher at Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Engineering study line at VIA University College, and has a master in computer science and a Ph.D. in medicine. Walther has many years of experience in software development and research within ophthalmology, radiation oncology and patient administrative systems.

Otto is Investment Manager in the seed investor CAPNOVA. Otto is in his daily life responsible for the screening and analysis of business ideas in all investment areas and assesses the commercial. Otto has worked in IT (business Inteligence), Life Science (molecular diagnostic) and has latest been employed with CAPNOVA as Business analyst before turning Investment Manager. Otto has for several years been responsible for screening for business ideas to present to a Århus based Business Angels network.

Otto is passionate about setting the right team in a startup company and he is known for talking straight out of the bag – no bull shit!

Sussi Bianco Nielsen
CEO at the Consultancy of Sussi Bianco.

CEO at the Consultancy of Sussi Bianco. With a background in computer science Sussi specializes in Health & Care Entrepreneurship, collaborating with municipalities and other public partners. Since 2013 she has run CareWare-Next: a national competition in welfare innovation - forming a Health Startup Community and running an accelerator program.. Sussi is an experienced member of the finalist jury in several national and international competitions in entrepreneurship (Guldægget, University Startup World Cup, SXSW) She is chairman of the board in Nonprofit WeLoveStartups and in commercial companies. “I sharpen the profile of companies, build communities and develop concepts leading to action. It is satisfying to act as a catalyst for creating visions and action in businesses, and value for people and in society. Fortunately my work life enables me to do it all” Her motto: Be ambitious.
