Tarek Khalil
President & Provost, Nile University

Dr. Khalil is a Professor of Management of Technology. He has held the rank of tenured professor of Industrial Engineering at the University of Miami since 1977. He also held a secondary appointment at the rank of professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Professor of Epidemiology and Public Health and Professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Miami. Dr. Khalil received his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Texas Tech University in 1969. He holds a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cairo and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from Texas Tech University. Dr. Khalil is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida as well as in the Syndicate of Engineers in Egypt. He has been involved with the higher education system in the USA for 40 years. Dr. Khalil’s experience includes serving as Chairman of the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Miami for 10 years and as Dean of the Graduate School at the University of Miami. He has also served as the Director of the Management of Technology Program, the Environmental Health and Safety Program and the Ergonomics and Bioengineering Division of the Comprehensive Pain and Rehabilitation Center. He has developed and directed many engineering and interdisciplinary programs within the University of Miami including the joint MBA/MSIE, The Management of Technology, and the Occupational Safety and Health programs. He is the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Association for Management of Technology (IAMOT), an association with membership from more than 80 countries. He has also served as Chairman of the Council of Fellows of the Institute of Industrial Engineers, as Vice President of the Institute for the Southeast Region and as Director of the Work Measurement and Methods Engineering Division. Dr. Khalil has served as a consultant to governments, industry and educational institutions worldwide for many years. He is nationally and internationally recognized in the areas of Management of Technology, Industrial Engineering and Ergonomics having received many national and international awards in his fields. 


Mohamed Maher

Mohamed Maher- SM/Enterprise & ICT at Etisalat Egypt- is an IT & Business Transformation leader as he got ~20 years with international telecom tycoons andExperienced Entrepreneur where he took leading roles in the startup of Vodafone, Etisalat and consultant, founding partner and shareholder in many SMEs with strong experience in building and managing sections up to 60+ resources, transformation programs, business development, organization/change management and managing tens of millions budget. Waleed Khalil
CEO, oteena for information technology

In1996 Waleed started his career as one of manufacturing team in charge of establishing the first printed circuit board facility in Egypt owned by the privet sector that was with Bahgat group. He spent there 3 years throughout which he was able to achieve a solid knowledge base in manufacturing of consumer electronics products’ core. In 1999 he joined Metra group, the mission was to establish the first motherboard manufacturing facility in the Middle East. He stayed there for 12 month throughout which was able to establish the manufacturing capability for the mother board and was in charge of managing and handling the startup and the early stage of production. Also he was in charge of hiring the whole team of manufacturing including production, quality control, & material control. In Jan 2000, joined mentor graphics as a senior field engineer. Mentor graphics is one of worldwide pioneers in electronic design automation tools it produces software for designing hardware products. Waleed was handling the Middle East and Africa as a senior application engineer in charge of educating researchers on designing and manufacturing of printed circuit board. 3 years later he joined Memscap. He built a team for manufacturing what is called skin station it was one of the products that integrated the experience in hardware designs, software development and mechanical design. It is biomedical equipment which was directed to the cosmetic and dermatology institutes. 2 years later the team was able to release the first generations of skin stations. In 2004 Waleed decided to change career so he started working on business studies and joined the business arena as a partner in ECS (one of the key hardware and computer distributors in Egypt). Finally started OTEENA in 2008, OTEENA is a distribution company working with diversified products between IT and consumer electronic; it’s also a distributor of Samsung. Oteena works in E-commerce through its online shop called www.oteena.com. Between 2001 until recently, Waleed have been holding shares in many startups some of them in Egypt and others are in MEA region, and Far East. Most recent startup for Waleed is Olkya technology Ltd, HK. It is a consumer electronics manufacturing targeting professional consumers, and SMBs. As an entrepreneurship mentor, Waleed have been participating in several Entrepreneurial activities. He’s been behind transferring many wonderful ideas into a robust self-confident business models. Waleed was graduated from the faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, and Electronics and Electrical communications department. Waleed holds an MBA degree in finance from The American University in Cairo.


Heba Sorour
Head of Science Department, Nile Egyptian Schools

Head of science department in Nile Egyptian Schools. Heba is a medical school graduate that has a passion for teaching so she worked as a science teacher since 1996 in one of the leading schools in Cairo. She was the head of science extracurricular activities. Worked as an educational advisor for Macmillan. Became Cambridge certified trainer in 2007. Worked as a head of science department in 2008. In 2010 she joined the Nile Egyptian Schools as a head of science department, Teacher trainer for the Cambridge international certificate for teachers and an item writer producing and editing exam papers for NES that follows Cambridge standards. She was awarded the silver certificate for experience in American education in 2011. 


Mohamed Hashem
Cash Management, IBM Egypt

Mohamed is a passionate advocate for self motivation and self development in coordination with the competitive business world of today. His self determination and advocacy fuels him to constantly use his motivation to develop himself on a personal and professional level. This determination is shown in his impressive achievements in such a short period of time. Mohamed has been the treasury management professional in IBM Egypt from 2011 till present. He graduated in February 2010 from the German University in Cairo, faculty of management, with a double major in Finance and International Business. He recently received his EMBA certificate from Nile University. Mohamed gained immense soft skills such as leadership skills by maintaining the title of team captain for the shooting club’s men water polo team from 1999 till 2008. He shows continuous determination by achieving the water polo silver medal at the German University in Cairo in 2006. He has a diversified successful career portfolio from working as a Sales Representative at Acumen holding, a subsidiary of Coldwell Banker where he achieved the highest quota on his team. As well as becoming an IBMer who accomplishes all tasks thrivingly as the single point of contact between the treasury center in Slovakia and IBM Egypt. Embarking on a Double Major degree at GUC in Cairo and participating in an EMBA program has allowed him to develop his own independent thinking and equip him with a solid foundation in his chosen career within the work field. Working at IBM for the past 4 years has also given him an opportunity to apply new ideas, frameworks and thinking tools that have confirmed his desire in choice of career.

Nezar Sami
Director, Division of Professional Development, Nile University

Nezar Sami, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Lead and Ph.D. Fellow for the Management of Technology field, Nile University. He is the author of “El-Maknaz© for Entrepreneurship” book, which is a comprehensive guide for entrepreneurs and startup companies to take their ideas and turned it into products and/or services. He developed the “STARS©” model for technology commercialization and the “Project & Management Interaction Model©”. Nezar is the co-founder of NU100 Entrepreneurship Initiative and the Professional Services Lead. Also, he is the co-founder and vice president of the Egypt Chapter (EgyMOT) of the International Association of Management of Technology (IAMOT). Nezar mentored new technology-based startup companies as well as teams participating in national and international business plan competitions such as Valeo Innovation Challenge, Idea-to-Product (I2P), Made In Egypt (MIE) and others. Also, he judges for nation-wide and regional innovation and entrepreneurship competitions such as Intel Business Challenge, Startup Weekend, Startup Cup, MIT Arab Business Plan Competition and Technology Business Plan Competition (TBPC). Since 1997, he conducted 1000+ training courses and sessions in different ICT & Business areas including, but not limited to, Leadership, Business Strategies, Contemporary Management, Project Management, Entrepreneurship, Innovation, IT Service Management and others. Mohamed Azzam
Executive Director, Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce - IT General Division (FoCC IT)

Mohamed haS more than 25 years of experience in diversified fields including: Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Management, and the Development and Clustering of Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs). His assignments took place in Egypt and internationally, and in various business sectors and vertical industries, including: ICT, education, manufacturing, consumer products, maritime & transportation, automotive, healthcare, oil & gas, tourism, environment, utilities, construction, pharmaceutical, agribusiness and retail.
Throughout his career, he has initiated and implemented large national Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) initiatives. These initiatives were conducted with many Egyptian governmental agencies, such as Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), Ministry of State of Administrative Development (MSAD), Ministry of Trade and Industry, Telecom Egypt, as well as with different developmental programs funded by international donors operating in Egypt, such as Euro-Mediterranean Private Sector Development Program (PSDP), Industrial Modernization Center (IMC), Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), and USAID.

Khaled Mokhtar
Program Management Senior Supervisor, Etisalat Misr

Khaled is a Computer and Systems Engineer working in the Technical Project Management Office (PMO) as a Program Management Senior Supervisor in Etisalat Misr Mobile Operator. He is also part of the Global IEEE Network having many executive positions there.Certified from the University of California - Berkeley - USA for Mentoring Innovative Technology Startups. Khaled was also Mentor for multiple events in the Region which bridging the Industry and Academia together in order to “Advance Innovation and Technology for Humanity”. Heba Labib
Founder & Executive Director, NU100

Heba Labib is an entrepreneur by nature with a mix of academic and interpersonal skills, enhanced with multidisciplinary and international exposure. Over the past 12 years, Ms. Labib has taken part in setting up and running businesses in a multitude of fields, ranging from agriculture to manufacturing, and at various business stages, from recycling to new product development. She has worked on projects from the concept stage all the way to completion.  Ms. Labib had also done some research for the FAO and participated in many Entrepreneurship seminars. Finally, Labib is the founder and executive director of NU100, a nationwide entrepreneurship competition for techpreneurs who have developmental ideas. Heba Labib holds a BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oakland University, MI, and an MSc in Management of Technology from Nile University, Egypt, and is currently a PhD Fellow at Nile University. She's an excellent team player with highly effective communication skills.

Ahmed Ozalp
Managing Director, Akanar Partners

Ahmed is a Co-Founder and Managing Director of Akanar Partners. Prior to founding Akanar Partners, Ahmed was Co-Head of Investment Banking at Cairo-based Beltone Financial with coverage and execution responsibilities across multiple sectors. Before that Ahmed spent several years on the buy-side with Dubai based SHUAA Capital’s private. Prior to that Ahmed spent time in Hong Kong and London as a member of JPMorgan’s Equity Capital Market’s team, after starting his career in finance with the Corporate Finance Division of the Commercial International Investment Company in Cairo. Ahmed is a 1995 graduate of Princeton University and a recipient of an MBA in 2003 from New York University’s Stern School of Business, graduating with distinction. Ameer Sherif

Fady Nabil
Program Manager at Etisalat

Fady presents more than 15 years of experience in Telecom and IT Industry. He is working at Etisalat Misr and worked for EMAK, UNDP, and British Telecom. He acted as a Team Leader for Middle East and Africa group in PDPM (Post Disaster Project Management), one of PMI‘s voluntary programs. He served as Head of Public Relation committee for PMI MENA chapter in Egypt on 2011.He continues his voluntary work for PMI MENA Chapter. Fady was a part of Startup weekend Mansoura Team. He was mentoring in Giza SW, Cairo Startup Cup, Orange Startup Cup and AUC V labs.. Fady is PMP, Executive Coaching and PMI- RMP certified. He has also supported his hands-on experience, management sense and intuition with an MBA, from ESLSCA University in France, majoring in Global Management. Fady was one of core team that organizing Cairo Startup Cup in 2013. He also led a team in MAKCBI, NGO that develop Project Management curriculum for entrepreneurs. Mai Hossam
Innovation & Funding Manager, Yomken

Mai Hossam holds a Bachelor degree in International Law and preparing her MBA in Innovation Managment Specialization. Mai was Yomken’s Funding and Innovation Manager, a non-profit platform focusing on Open Innovation and Crowdfunding. In her work, she was linking challenges faced by SMEs working mainly in low-tech and informal manufacturing industries with the innovative ideas and skills of potential problem solvers/solutions. Mohamed Amin
Sales Manager, Alcatel-Lucent

Mohamed Amin is a telecommunication engineer works for Alcatel-Lucent as Sales manager for Orange account in Egypt. Previously he was leading the Services Business Development for Orange in EMEA and mobile operators in Middle East, Turkey & Africa region with main focus on IP routing services. Amin received his bachelor degree from Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University in 2007. He started his professional career at Alcatel-Lucent in post-sales side as Technical support engineer for MEA wireless customers then in 2011 he moved to the presales side as services tendering engineer for Orascom & Orange affiliates in MEA. Being IEEE member & enthusiastic volunteer, he served in several leading positions inside IEEE Egypt section, starting by IEEE volunteer in Egyptian Engineering Day (EED-2006) till he is appointed by IEEE GOLD Egypt board as EED Chairman to lead one of the biggest IEEE engineering exhibition & conferences in its 10th round in 2011. Currently Amin is an elected board member of IEEE GOLD Egypt also knows as IEEE Egypt Young Professionals.

Nahel Amirah
Innovation Support Manager, TIEC

Nahel Amirah is the manager of InnovEgypt and Egypt Ideation Camp program. He has more than 12 years of experience in multiple areas including Control Engineering, Project Management, Innovation and Innovation Management, Entrepreneurship and Implementing Technologies for Education. He received B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computers in 2000. He is stating his career as a teaching assistant at Biomedical Engineering department, Higher Technological Institute. Then he had a career shift to the world of entrepreneurship. He joined Arab Science and Technology Foundation Cairo office then Science Age foundation (SAS) as a project manager. During this period he is managing many of entrepreneurship and startups competitions and programs. He developed and managed a new competition for Entrepreneurs in industrial sector, Industrial startup @ Arab World competition. It was the first of its kind worldwide and recognized as a featured event of Global Entrepreneurship Week in 2009. He operated and managed the Intel Science and Engineering Fair in Egypt for three years and he developed the first pan Arab version of this competition. He is also a certified educator for Intel Ideation Camp and volunteer as mentor and judge for some entrepreneurship initiatives in Egypt and Arab World.


Nezar Sami
Director, Division of Professional Development, Nile University

Nezar Sami, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Lead and Ph.D. Fellow for the Management of Technology field, Nile University. He is the author of “El-Maknaz© for Entrepreneurship” book, which is a comprehensive guide for entrepreneurs and startup companies to take their ideas and turned it into products and/or services. He developed the “STARS©” model for technology commercialization and the “Project & Management Interaction Model©”. Nezar is the co-founder of NU100 Entrepreneurship Initiative and the Professional Services Lead. Also, he is the co-founder and vice president of the Egypt Chapter (EgyMOT) of the International Association of Management of Technology (IAMOT). Nezar mentored new technology-based startup companies as well as teams participating in national and international business plan competitions such as Valeo Innovation Challenge, Idea-to-Product (I2P), Made In Egypt (MIE) and others. Also, he judges for nation-wide and regional innovation and entrepreneurship competitions such as Intel Business Challenge, Startup Weekend, Startup Cup, MIT Arab Business Plan Competition and Technology Business Plan Competition (TBPC). Since 1997, he conducted 1000+ training courses and sessions in different ICT & Business areas including, but not limited to, Leadership, Business Strategies, Contemporary Management, Project Management, Entrepreneurship, Innovation, IT Service Management and others. Nezar has reputable certifications in training, facilitation and other technical aspects including, but not limited to, DDI Certified Facilitator®, Intel Certified Ideation Master Trainer, Master Mentor Trainer for Startup Cup, Master Mentor Trainer for NU100, ITIL and others. He received the “Instructional Affairs Teaching Honor Roll” from AUC 2006 and 2007


Waleed Khalil
CEO, oteena for information technology

In1996 Waleed started his career as one of manufacturing team in charge of establishing the first printed circuit board facility in Egypt owned by the privet sector that was with Bahgat group. He spent there 3 years throughout which he was able to achieve a solid knowledge base in manufacturing of consumer electronics products’ core. In 1999 he joined Metra group, the mission was to establish the first motherboard manufacturing facility in the Middle East. He stayed there for 12 month throughout which was able to establish the manufacturing capability for the mother board and was in charge of managing and handling the startup and the early stage of production. Also he was in charge of hiring the whole team of manufacturing including production, quality control, & material control. In Jan 2000, joined mentor graphics as a senior field engineer. Mentor graphics is one of worldwide pioneers in electronic design automation tools it produces software for designing hardware products. Waleed was handling the Middle East and Africa as a senior application engineer in charge of educating researchers on designing and manufacturing of printed circuit board. 3 years later he joined Memscap. He built a team for manufacturing what is called skin station it was one of the products that integrated the experience in hardware designs, software development and mechanical design. It is biomedical equipment which was directed to the cosmetic and dermatology institutes. 2 years later the team was able to release the first generations of skin stations. In 2004 Waleed decided to change career so he started working on business studies and joined the business arena as a partner in ECS (one of the key hardware and computer distributors in Egypt). Finally started OTEENA in 2008, OTEENA is a distribution company working with diversified products between IT and consumer electronic; it’s also a distributor of Samsung. Oteena works in E-commerce through its online shop called www.oteena.com. Between 2001 until recently, Waleed have been holding shares in many startups some of them in Egypt and others are in MEA region, and Far East. Most recent startup for Waleed is Olkya technology Ltd, HK. It is a consumer electronics manufacturing targeting professional consumers, and SMBs. As an entrepreneurship mentor, Waleed have been participating in several Entrepreneurial activities. He’s been behind transferring many wonderful ideas into a robust self-confident business models. Waleed was graduated from the faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, and Electronics and Electrical communications department. Waleed holds an MBA degree in finance from The American University in Cairo.
