1st Startup Weekend Dijon - Food&Beverage Innovation

The First Startup Weekend Dijon took place from the 05th to  the 07th of September 2014 at the Burgundy Business School!

Startup Weekend?
Startup Weekend are 54-hour events where developers, designers, marketers, product managers and startup enthusiasts come together to share ideas, form teams, build products, and launch startups!
It's a way to test an idea, and why not launch a startup, or  simply a way to discover entrepreneurship.

Food&Beverage Innovation?
Dijon is part of the "gastronomy city"  network  and has an incomparable culture of Burgundy wines and gastronomy.
The theme is wide : it includes all the Food&Beverage projects from the field to the plate!

When&Where?
The event took place at the Burgundy Business School at 29 rue Sambin, 21000  DIJON, the weekend 05-07 SEPTEMBER 2014.

Who?
This first event gathered together 60  participants : students in agronomy, in business school, in design but also professionals from different sectors. A great thank to all these amazing participants who made this event an amazing time!

Pierre Guez
Dijon Céréales Union CEO

This farmer-breeder son, definitely has taste, nutrition and health in his blood. His career can not be summed up in one word! From the Regional School of Agriculture in Cibeins (Ain) to the chair of the the agrifood competitiveness cluster Vitagora, through the direction of the Sonagra and the Union Dijon Céréales, he is now CEO of Dijon Céréales. His management skills, willingness, determination and his team spirit are qualities who helped him to build such a career.

Bernard Broye

Graduated from the Burgundy School of Business, he started his career as sales manager in a local company. At the age of 33 years, he decided to start his own company with two friends in the field of the packaging mechanization. After quite hard conditions of starting, with very poor resources - the initial local was a farm - he leaded as the CEO, an outstanding development of the company: 25 years after this ex nihilo starting , the Cermex Group has become one of the three world leaders in the robotic engineering and equipment at the end of output lines, with a positioning all over the world through filiales and agencies, employing 400 people, listed on the second market of the stock exchange Since he is retired, Bernard Broye has been involved in various activities - with founding “Reseau Entreprendre Bourgogne” to support new entrepreneurs and to help them to succeed in starting their company, - with launching “ Les Entrepreneuriales” to train students to start a company and develop in them the spirit of entrepreneurship, - with leading “Burgundy Innovation” to promote and develop the innovation in Burgundy.


Arnaud Catinot

Après avoir été le directeur de l'incubateur public de la région Centre et avoir soutenu plus de 50 projets de création d'entreprises, Arnaud Catinot a conduit le Polytechnicum Bourgogne Franche-Comté, où il a fondé les clubs startup. (développement de la culture entrepreneuriale dans les écoles et échange de compétences entre les écoles de management et d’ingénieurs.
Après un détour dans le développement des affaires au sein du groupe Deloitte et avec une expérience avérée dans la propriété intellectuelle,  Arnaud est le fondateur du groupe Seekence, une agence de créativité appliquée pour offrir de nouveaux services aux professionnels de l'enseignement supérieur. L'innovation et la valorisation de l’entreprise sont ses principaux domaines de compétences.


Vincent Pétré
Wine Startup facilitator

Vincent est Pré-Acceleration Manager au sein de 33entrepreneurs, accélérateur de startups dédié au Vin, à la Gastronomie et au Tourisme.

Originaire de Champagne (Champagne PÉTRÉ), amateur de vins et détecteur de tendances, Vincent est co-auteur de l'ouvrage Les Réseaux Sociaux et le Vin. Il accompagne les startups dans leur phase d'idéation et de prototype.   


Valérie Ballereau

Dr. Valérie Ballereau holds a PhD in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management. After a two years new venture experience in tourism in Ireland (Connemara Travel Company, ltd.), and few years as a consultant in Paris (Salustro Reydel Management), she joined the Burgundy School of Business as Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Strategy. She is co-piloting the Incubator of the School. Her Research and Teaching interests are Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship, in Arts, Culture and Tourism industries.


Fred Mercier

After a career as international marketing director at LVMH Wine & Spirits (Comex Veuve Clicquot), Frédéric Mercier became an entrepreneur in the on trade business and real estate sector. He is now doing consultancy for strategic and marketing issues, member of the Business Angels in Burgundy, and lecturer at the Business School of Dijon. Still ready to invest and create new businesses!


Coaches and Mentors


Bugeau Philippe
consultant

Philippe Bugeau starts his career in Thomson International Group as a controller in Burgundy. Later, he moved to Lyon leading missions on health, transports sectors and telephony. Then, he moved to a Research and Development Center in Grenoble where he became Financial Manager. He tested some methods to improve innovation management. After those first experiences, he decided to work at the Chamber of Commerce in Dijon as a consultant in contact with new entrepreneurs and companies managers. He daily advises business project leaders, and has become responsible of companies transmission and buyout. He is also responsible for training dedicated managers. Field of expertise:new business startup and company’s buyout, company financial evaluation, canvas business project method, manager training, solutions emergence with Carl Rogers approach.


Florence Rigneau
Experte en design thinking & facilitatrice graphique

Florence a travaillé 12 ans en R&D et gestion de projets transversaux chez les leaders mondiaux de la Cosmétique et de la Chimie. Aujourd’hui, elle aide des porteurs de projet innovants grâce à la représentation visuelle. Au sein de sa société Inspiral, Florence développe le potentiel créatif d'équipes.


Mathieu Cynober
Partner and Healthcare Practices Leader

With a dual engineering degree in the field of microtechnologies from ENSMM in France, and intelligent systems applied to healthcare from TDU in Japan, Mathieu started his path in the medical innovation ecosystem as a scientist. Indeed, results of his engineering work have been published in peer-reviewed journals, during international congresses and obtained various Japanese prices. He latter gained an MSc in innovation management in France to enter into business and attended courses in public health from US Universities to focus on high impact innovations. Mathieu is currently leading the Healthcare Practices at Tech2Market, a European consultancy, where he advises research centres, providers, startups, larger companies and the public sector with a team of six. He also gives various lectures on bioentrepreneurship and strategy (ex : in the European Market Access University Diploma) and is the member of the strategic board of innovative healthcare startups. Besides its competences in strategy, engineering and management, Mathieu also experienced medical device industrialisation, healthcare delivery and medical entrepreneurship. In particular, he is currently leading a venture project, which aims to develop a new tool to fight surgical site infections.


matthias Lauche

Matthias Lauche became self-employed after his product design degree at the Hochschule Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts He is Co-founder of the Designstudio form|knast (www.formknast.com). Currently the studio works for companies from Germany and Switzerland and is divided into the areas of Graphic and Product Design. Print magazines with the topic “breast cancer” and “healthy sleep” were designed by the Studio and distributed in Switzerland. The outcoming product was designed for the german lable deparso and was available on monoqi.com and decovry.com. More new products in the fields of furniture and lightning will be shown in autumn at the Blickfang design fair in Hamburg. Furthermore is Matthias Lauche part of the team at the “Entrepreneurship-Center der Hochschule Hannover”He helps to organize the new Center and assists the Entrepreneurs in Hannover.


Doerte Roloff

As the project leader oft the Entrepreneurship Centre of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hannover (Hochschule Hannover) she is responsible for the coordination, planning and realization. With her profound knowledge in Design Thinking she supports young entrepreneurs in generation of new solutions and helps them to develop the initial idea to market ready concept. The apprenticeship as a advertising expert qualified her in the sector of marketing and distribution. During her product design studies she discovered her passion to develop preferably innovative and sustainable concepts. In this time she already worked self-employed in Germany and internationally. In Brazil she took part in a one-year project, which connected sustainable product development with social entrepreneurship. Since her diploma in 2009 she works part-time as designer in the fields of research, conception and development, strategy and project management.


Thierry Dufour

Thierry Dufour graduated from a French Engineering school and completed his education with an Accounting and Strategic management degree. He worked for international industrial groups in packaging sector as R&D, Plant and Industrial Manager for more than 20 years. Since 2009 he is the Owner and Manager of Parteco Bourgogne, consulting and training services provider. Member of “Reseau Entreprendre “ he coordinates the program “Les Entrepreneuriales “ in Burgundy. Field of expertise: Extensive experience of operations management, Business Plan and Business model Canvas, world class manufacturing and continuous improvement.


Guillaume Fabre

I work for KPMG as the Partner in charge of Burgundy. KPMG is the first multidisciplinary french firm, which employs 8000 salaries in 217 location in France. We are well invested in innovation and fund raising. My financial skills are at your disposal for your project to be a success. I have worked during the last 17 years helping high growth company (TPE, PME and groups). I have a strong knowledge on how to start businesses in our country, and how to combine both public and private money. I have helped some entities locally and abroad as I speak currently English.
