From November 4th to 6th 2016, Paris hosted the 1st Startup Weekend dedicated to artificial intelligence. 

Now Paris organizers are back with a Global Startup Weekend on Artificial Intelligence !
11 Startup Weekends Artificial Intelligence will take place around the world simultaneously during two weekends. 

Data scientist, robotics specialists, developers, marketers, business developpers, AI fans ? Come test your ideas and participate in creating the future of the French artificial intelligence at the Startup Weekend Artificial Intelligence - Paris Edition!

Code is the limit. 


Startup Weekends are 54-hour events* designed to provide superior experiential education for technical and non-technical entrepreneurs. Participants create working startups during the event and are able to collaborate with like-minded individuals outside of their daily networks. All teams get the chance to get coached by entrepreneurs and industry experts. The weekend is centered around action, innovation, and education. 

With more than 4,000 events held in 150 countries since 2009 and a global community, Startup Weekend is often considered as the largest incubator in the world!


Whether you are looking for feedback on a idea, a co-founder, a team, or simply to experience the exciting entrepreneurial adventure for a weekend, Startup Weekends are the perfect environment!

Véra Kempf is a Startup Weekend Alumni and even organized some of them! She cofounded Singulart (, an international marketplace for artworks. She is on a mission to transform the art market with the digitalisation of artists as well as to change the way collectors purchase art online. She is therefore very enthusiastic about AI as predictions will enable Singulart to recommend personalised selections of artworks to potential customers. Based in Paris, Singulart recently announced a €1.1 Million Seed Tour.

Senior AI expert

Juliette Mattioli began her career as a high school teacher in Mathematics in 1982. Then, she joined Thomson-CSF research team, where she stayed from 1993 to 2001 as a Research Engineer. She became head of research labs. in Thales Research and Technology in 2001 and was appointed Strategy & Innovation Manager at Thales Technical Directorate in 2010. In 2012, she became senior expert and in 2017 she was appointed AI Senior Expert.
Juliette Mattioli has published a number of papers and articles. She has led many R&D projects for Thales Programs and National and European Projects (FP6, FP7, H2020).

Yann Lechelle
COO at Snips - Using AI to make technology disappear

Over the past two decades, from Paris to Los Angeles, via Cambridge UK and New York, Yann has been leveraging technology to help unlock business opportunities in various fields: financial markets with real-time trading platforms, cartoon animation with centralised asset management tools, project and yield management with social networks, digital art on new media, mobile app discovery with recommendation engine, mobile app monetization with innovative ad formats.

As an entrepreneur, he has founded or co-founded a number of companies, developing products that have reached hundreds of millions of end-users globally, often resorting to slick user interface design and offering innovative user experiences. 

As advisor, board member or angel investor, he is now tracking the progress of many more forward looking new business ventures.

At Snips, as COO, his role is to help the team and the tech grow to achieve escape velocity... towards a world where technology disappears and humans are empowered to reach their next stage of evolution.

Recalé au baccalauréat, puis directeur de bar en Angleterre, d'hôtel dans le Sud de la France et fondateur d'une agence d'interim, Bastien quitte tout pour venir étudier à l'Ecole 42 à Paris en 2014. Son background très opérationnel et relationnel le positionnent très rapidement comme COO d'une startup en pleine croissance, puis il fonde en 2017 avec 2 autres associés, une plateforme de création de chatbots destinée à l'usage interne des entreprises qui a pour but de faciliter la recherche d'information pour tous les employés dans leur organisation. Cette startup est un succès, avec en moins de 6 mois plusieurs clients grands comptes, un partenariat avec Facebook pour sa plateforme Workplace et le grand prix de l'innovation digitale ID17 dans la catégorie Entreprise remporté le 5 juillet 2017. En tant que mentor, Bastien pourra apporter ses compétences sur la tech, la pertinence du produit et l'adéquation avec sa cible, mais aussi partager son mix d'expérience unique à la croisée de l'intelligence artificielle et des ressources humaines !

Timothée Paris
Master of Applications to the Council of State

Timothée Paris is a member of the Conseil d’Etat, the French highest court of appeal for judicial review and adjudication of all cases involving public agencies. He is also associate professor in public law at the University of Paris-Est Créteil and Secretary general of the Société de législation comparée (French Society for Comparative Law). Holding two bachelor degrees, he graduated from Sciences Po Paris (French institute for political studies) in 2002. He was appointed as a judge in an administrative court of first instance in 2004 and in the administrative court of appeal of Paris in 2011 after serving between 2009 and 2011 as special assistant to the vice-president of the Conseil d'Etat. He was appointed as a member of the Conseil d’Etat in October 2014. He also coordinates the community of practice on public-private partnerships led by the Conseil d’Etat, in association with the Agence française de Développement (AFD) and the World Bank.
