Do I need to come with an idea?

If you have an idea for a startup, then great!  We hope you pitch for the weekend.  If you don't have an idea, that's quite all right!  Come and spend the weekend, listen to the ideas being pitched, and see if something strikes your interest!  The weekend is all about learning about the startup ideation process and from your peers.  If you have more questions, check out the Startup Weekend First Timers FAQ!

Miriam Neubauer
Managing Director at Catena Capital

Miriam is the Managing Director at Catena Capital, the Berlin-based venture builder focusing on the Blockchain, cryptocurrencies and ICOs.
She is a co-founder at heycater!, one of Germany’s leading VC-backed online marketplaces for food catering. At heycater!, she was leading product management and technical development as the company’s CPO. Her educational background is in management and technology from LMU Munich, CDTM and UC Berkeley. Between 2009 and 2014, Miriam played an active role connecting young entrepreneurs across the globe and founded StartUp Weekend Munich, StartUp Weekend UC Berkeley and the German chapter of the Kairos Society.


Wolfgang Baudendistel
Partner at Zoi

Finding exciting paths from software to business development in the solid field of corporate innovation. 

Wolfgang is Partner at Zoi, a tech consulting firm with focus on public cloud infrastructure, AI and IoT. For more than eight years he has been an integral part of ITM, the company from which Zoi was carved out from. Wolfgang has worked in different fields and went through all the major career steps there from Trainee to Managing Consultant before becoming a Partner at Zoi last summer. Spearheading the Zoi team in Berlin, Wolfgang is also leading the Kärcher Digital Hub in Germany's capital. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems as well as an MBA in Business Creation and Innovation from TU Munich.



Alexa Gorman
Global VP of SAP.iO fund @ SAP

Alexa is Global VP of the SAP.iO fund and responsible for startup investments as well as leading the Berlin SAP.iO Foundry, she has 18+ years of experience in business development and strategy.
The SAP.iO fund invests in early stage startups that can leverage SAP APIs, data sets, business content and/or platform technologies. The SAP.iO Foundry is a global network of accelerators providing deep, programmatic mentorships to startups.


Heike Hölzner
Professor of Entrepreneurship

Heike is a professor for entrepreneurship at the HTW University in Berlin (www.htw-berlin.de) and the co-founder of Sirius Minds (www.sirius-minds.com), a berlin-based consulting agency focusing on entrepreneurial business development and digital transformation. At Sirius Minds she and her team coach and assist more than 100 EXIST-funded startups per year on business modelling and team development. Prior to taking over the position, Heike has worked in different corporate jobs, mostly fintech, as well as in VC and founded her own e-commerce startup. She holds a diploma in economics from the University of Oldenburg, Germany, studied data science at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, USA and holds a doctorate in innovation management, focussing on organizational transformation.

Sinan Keles
Head of International Growth at Scorp Inc.

Sinan Keles already started growing Start-Ups when he was a Student of Economics & Middle Eastern Studies at the Freie Universität in Berlin, he was Country Manager of Tutored, helping the Italian Start-up to develop & execute a strategy to grow out of their domestic market, the result was 100.000 Users in Germany within the first month of Launch. Still in University, he joined the topic-based social video app Scorp, since March 2016 he led the growth of the app from 1M downloads in one Country to an audience of +15M Monthly Video Viewers in 5 Countries as the International Growth Manager of Scorp Inc.  


Minh Ha Duong
Investment Manager at Project A Ventures

Ha is a technology enthusiast and an Investment Manager at Project A Ventures. Having studied Industrial Engineering and Management, he has been exploring the intersection of technological innovations and business implications for the last years. Through roles in marketing, business development, and strategy in companies like Google, Techstars, and several startups, he learned what makes digital business models successful and is now applying this knowledge in the venture capital industry. At Project A, Ha covers startups in many technical areas including machine learning, blockchain, and developer tools. He is known for open-sourcing his research and data on >600 European AI Startups and for being more and more fascinated by the crypto economy and its societal implications. As a believer in communities, he acts as a mentor at Techstars, and occasionally supports startups in an advisory capacity.


Derk Marseille
Head of Media at Tothem.co

Derk Marseille leads the content team at Tothem. Tothem defines effective social media strategies and know how to touch an audience with compelling stories using events, text, audio and video. We run campaigns and build tools. Tothem is a full-service digital agency with branches in Germany and The Netherlands. As their own media brand Tothem runs FridayatSix a talkshow format about scale ups produced for corporates. 


Holger Dieterich
Product Manager

Holger is the co-founder and product manager of Wheelmap.org, a global map to find and mark wheelchair accessible places. In Berlin he also helps other startups to get of the ground.


Paul Glootz
Growth & Country ops at Stripe

Paul worked on growing startups since his second year at Harvard, helping a French food tech company to enter the US market. After college, he joined his classmates as the second employee of machine-learning company Newsle in San Francisco. He grew the user base to several million, at which point the company was acquired by LinkedIn. Paul then joined Stripe as the second team member in Northern Europe, driving adoption across 10 countries and building out user-facing operations. As employee #2 in both startups, Paul had to structure the entire growth strategy and put in place a strong team for the task.


Charlotte Specht
Co-founder at Book a Street Artist & PANTA Magazine

An advocate of sustainable value creation and social entrepreneurship, Charlotte Specht set out to bring transparency, fairness, and efficiency into the creative sector and to empower independent artists. As co-founder of Book a Street Artist and Editor in Chief of PANTA Magazine, together with her partner Mario Rueda she managed to grow a small non-profit idea to a successful start-up with a team of ca. 12 people supporting more than 500 artists worldwide. Charlotte studied Business Administration and Management in Mannheim, Oslo, and Lisbon. However, she was always drawn into the art world with its bright and unconventional creators and minds and managed to combine both her expertise and passion in both her ventures.


Silvan Jongerius
VP Sales/Marketing Europe @ DLTLabs

Silvan has over 14 years of experience as entrepreneur and in private technology/media education in various senior (technology) leadership positions (CTO/CEO/location director/managing director). More recently, he is focussed on disruptive technologies, innovation and digital strategies, and in particular blockchain. With this background he represents DLT Labs (http://dltlabs.io), an established, Toronto based, blockchain development house with F500 clients in Europe as VP Marketing/Sales. Additionally, he is part of the Grind Camp Corporate Innovation Team and an experienced management trainer in technical subjects, ranging from sound technology to blockchain.

He has extensive experience in public speaking and presenting, lean startup, business model generation, business model canvas, education, blockchain technology and blockchain-based projects, web system architecture, incorporation, data protection (GDPR), sound technology, security and SAAS.

Some of Silvan’s recent entrepreneurial projects include Twotwo.one (http://twotwo.one), a platform that helps remote friends find the best place to meet in between, berchain.com (https://berchain.com) to bring the blockchain community in Berlin together, and Silvan has contributed to a number of blockchain related projects in different kinds of ways. 


Lucas Wagner
Product Manager

Lucas is a passionate Product Manager and former Head of Product at wefox, Germany's biggest insurance platform for brokers and their customers. Currently, he builds a new Digital Health venture that is supposed to disrupt the German healthcare market. He is also the main organizer of the InsurTech Meetup Berlin, bringing together innovators from the industry in an open networking event, and also talks about innovation in InsurTech from time to time. Besides that, he also loves to organize other events like StartupBus, a European hackathon, or coach early startups on Product and UX.


Annemieke Frank
Community Builder & Communications Manager in Education

Edtech, Content Marketing & Gamification enthusiast. 
Worked in advertisement & marketing for big corporates, transitioned into PR & communications for education startups. Currently managing communications for EDUvation, an edtech Business Angel. Co-founder of EduHeroes Club, a platform building a bridge between traditional education and the professional world. Her quest: Engaging with entrepreneurs and specialists, fostering innovation and dynamic exchange of ideas with a mission to challenge and improve learning as we know it. 
Her superpowers are: Communications, Community, Marketing, Finance, Strategies, Education. 


Laurène Descamps
Design Thinking Coach

As a Design Thinking Coach and idealist Business Developer, Laurène thrives for social Innovation, especially in the fields of politics and environment. In the D.Collective -a social enterprise and playground for people that want to make the world a better place-, Laurène is part of the core team where her goal is to connect various stakeholders to work together on urgent problematics, such as Climate Change with the help of human-centered methods. Beside her engagement in the D.Collective, Laurène works on projects with Makesense, a network that helps social entrepreneurs to solve their challenges. Her french-german Business Background will help develop innovations with a sustainable approach. Laurène is an eternal nature lover, human factor passionate and is always curious about new ideas.


Balázs Szabó
Co-Founder, CEO Konetik

Balazs is an entrepreneur passionate about sustainable mobility. Balazs has an in-depth international sales, marketing and business development expertise. He conducted both IT and business studies. He graduated at Corvinus University of Budapest and Université Catholique de Louvain at the CEMS Master in International Management MSc program. He gained international business development expertise working with partners like Bloomberg and Startup Sauna. He is the initiator and organizer of the Berlin Smart Mobility Meetup. Balazs is the Global Advisory Board Member of Kairos Society, a TEDx speaker, a Forbes Contributor, selected as a Cisco Internet of Things Champion and a Beyond1435 mentor. Balazs was recently selected as part of the 30 under 30 by Forbes.


Rabia Dilara
Senior Product Designer at foodora

She is an internationally trained Product Designer who nerds out on delivering delightful products and experiences. She loves the challenge of enabling convenience with good design. Her academic background is a mashup of engineering, business and design. She worked with startups and global firms from New York, San Francisco and capitals of Europe. She is currently working as Senior Product designer at foodora. When she is not designing, she writes about Design at Harvard Business Review Turkey and facilitates workshops, lectures as well as seminars.
