Your idea in 54 hours!

Special times call for special measures: Startup Weekend goes online globally and Germany will be part of this initiative on the weekend of April 17-19th! Join other inventors, innovators, developers, designers and anyone with a passion to tackle challenges related to the current COVID-19 situation, but also those we face when society and businesses try to get back to “normality”.

You have an idea you'd like to pursue or a problem you'd like to solve but don't know where to start or who to start with? You don’t have an idea (yet) but you do want to join a team to contribute with your experience and knowledge? Awesome! This Online Startup Weekend is the perfect opportunity to join a team, validate your idea, create a prototype and receive feedback from experienced mentors, e.g. entrepreneurs as well as tech and business experts.

Tickets to the event are FREE for everyone, please register via the Eventbrite link. Participants and partners can make a donation though. All collected funds, globally, will be donated to a charity organisation selected by Techstars, fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

Please note: In true Startup Weekend spirit, the ideas you submit should not be existing businesses but new projects. They can but do not necessarily be directly related the current COVID-19 situation. Find more answers to your potential questions in our Attendee FAQ.

Become and be part of a great community and connect to communities around the world!

THIS IS HOW IT WORKS:

  1. You register for the Online Startup Weekend Germany via the Eventbrite link below.
  2. If you want to contribute an idea, you submit it via Google Form by April 15th, 6 pm CET. Please have a look into the ticket confirmation from Eventbrite, the Google Form link will be integrated there.
  3. Then, a panel of mentors will vote and select the top ideas to move forward for the weekend team will be working on.
  4. 24 hours before the Online Startup Weekend Germany starts, the top selected ideas are communicated to all attendees and you have one day to form teams on the Discord platform.
  5. The Online Startup Weekend Germany will be kicked-off by the organising team (via Youtube Livestream) on Friday April 17th at 6pm. You will be provided some introductory information, then you are able to start working with your team right away.
  6. On Saturday, you’ll get support and feedback on your ideas and projects by our experienced mentors.
  7. On Sunday 12pm, each team submits their idea with a video via Google Form. Our judges will watch those videos and vote on the top 10 teams. Those 10 teams will be invited to a live virtual Demo Day in the evening of Sunday April 19th. Then, the results will be announced.
What will happen after the Online Startup Weekend Germany

Techstars will select up to 20 teams from all the country level winners and invite them to participate in an exclusive Techstars Innovation Bootcamp. The program will surround teams with the frameworks, mentorship, and resources necessary to rapidly identify and validate solutions effectively to help you do more, faster!

In addition, there will be local prizes for the Online Startup Weekend Germany edition. Stay tuned, details coming soon.
