Judge Spotlight: Robert Bush Jr.

On behalf of the StartupWeekend Space Team, I would like to introduce you to one of our judges, Robert Bush Jr. He will assess your team and your final product on Sunday evening, evaluating your business model, customer validation, technical and design execution.

Robert Bush Jr. is CEO of Majlis Capital, a merchant bank and financial advisory firm focused on facilitating investments and strategic partnerships between international companies and Middle East-based firms, primarily in the oil and gas, utilities, financial services, commodities, real estate and retail industries. Bush has more than 18 years of experience in investment banking, venture capital, hedge funds, private equity and Islamic finance. He has served as acting chief investment officer of Forsa, a women-only investment company owned by Dubai World that focuses on investing in real estate and small to medium-sized companies in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia. Bush was recently a founding managing director of Istithmar PJSC, a private equity and alternative investment company owned by the government of Dubai. A USA National 7s' All-Star Rugby player, Bush received a bachelor's degree from Amherst College, where he was president of the student body. He attended the master's program at Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and received a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
