The Center of Applied Space Technology and Microgravity (ZARM) is a scientific institution specialised in the research on space science and technology as well as fluid mechanics. ZARM is part of the Department of Production Engineering at the University of Bremen and employs more than 100 scientists, engineers and administrative staff. Many students and young scientists are hosted at ZARM to conduct their scientific and technological research. ZARM’s non-profit association, Friends of ZARM, also offers outstanding Bachelor and Master theses excelence awards.
ZARM’s main laboratory, the Bremen Drop Tower offers the opportunity for short-term experiments under high-quality microgravity conditions. This makes ZARM a unique institution, providing the only laboratory of this kind in Europe!
