Your idea in 54 hours

Do you have an idea you'd like to pursue or a problem you'd like to solve but don't know where to start or who to start with?   Techstars Startup Weekend is the place to look for a team, create a prototype of your idea, validate your business idea, and receive feedback from experienced entrepreneurs, all in one weekend.   What do you need to bring?   Lots of energy! You'll pitch your own idea or listen to others, then vote on the most interesting ideas and form teams with diverse skill sets. You can come with friends, but you’ll get the full experience if you participate in separate teams. Remember, it’s all about the team.   Your idea should be something you have not previously worked on. The idea you pitch and the problem you set out to solve can span social, educational, financial, environmental, or other issues. Over the course of the weekend you'll be challenged to create a prototype of your MVP, or minimum viable product, that fits the needs of your target customer. You'll get feedback, iterate, and likely pivot your approach entirely! Important: You cannot have worked previously on your idea.   Techstars Startup Weekend is a full weekend long experience. Your ticket includes:
  • 7 full (and delicious) meals over the course of the weekend
  • Benefits and discounts from our global partners
  • One-on-one time with amazing mentors
  • A new network of developers, designers, and entrepreneurs eager, like you, to change the world.
  • All the internet and coffee you can consume.

Melina Taprantzi
Founder of Wise Greece

Social Entrepreneur / Founder of “Wise Greece”

Her first degree may have been in Philosophy, but eventually it was the world of marketing and communication than won her over and for which she has worked for over 10 years, assisting many
brands to become established and known.
Always a volunteer, ready to offer help to various charities, she recognized the need for their existence as well as their difficulties to remain sustainable, in order to accomplish the relief of social problems.
Social entrepreneurship is exactly what fulfills her! It is incredibly important to work and offer simultaneously. To be able to maintain a degree of sustainability and offer a solution to an important
social problem at the same time… hence “Wise Greece” was born. A social enterprise that on the one hand promotes top quality Greek products and on the other uses the profits from sales in order to buy foods in bulk and donate them to soup kitchens, children, families and the elderly in need, hence essentially having 2 important missions; promoting all that makes us Greeks proud and at the same time offering to unprivileged people their most basic need, food.
Today Wise Greece works with over 100 small producers who offer over 1.000 products; exports to 8 countries, has donated over 30 tons of food to orphanages and charitable institutions, has received seven important awards for its work, among which is a prestigious award from the President of the Greek Republic “Models of Excellence”, as well as a Start Up award for sustainability and social contribution and the European Social Challenge Award 2018.
Melina often presents Wise Greece and its model of Social Entrepreneurship at international congresses and conferences aiming to inspire young people to create their own social enterprise. She has spoken at Forums that support female entrepreneurship, such as “The Next Women 100”, she is a key note speaker in international seminars on social entrepreneurship, an Ambassador of the “Think Young Entrepreneurship School”, a TEDX Speaker, an IVLP Alumni in the program of Social Responsibility and
Innovation funded by the USA Embassy, a co-builder of the international “World Human Forum”, a Young Emerging Leader 2018 by the European-Australian Forum, a YTILI Fellow 2019 by the German Marshal Fund and a mentor to start up social enterprises.
