You want to learn the tricks of the trade in the startup world and want to indulge in the joy of making something unique but don't know where to start from?

Startup Weekend Delhi Makers is going to make it happen for you!

Get ready for an intense 3 day event where you will get all the resources, tools, mentorship and guidance to bring your idea to life, and the opportunity to present it in front of the perfect audience.
The perfect place from designers, tech geeks and business hustlers who aspire to run their own gig someday, these amazing 54 hours will see the best people from various industries coming on board just to help you jet set to your entrepreneurial dream and provide you with a vision for your potential. 

We invite students and professionals from all age groups and disciplines with a passion and ambition to participate in one of the most unique Startup Weekend events held, Delhi Makers, focused on MAKING.

Got a crazy tech idea? Get tinkering with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Sensors, motors, LED lights and other cool hardware.
Want to make an awesome product? Have tools and machines for woodworking, soldering , 3D Printing, laser cutting at your fingertips.
Baking is your thing? Yes, we even have a halogen oven!

You will be given the luxury to have all these tools and assistance and more at your fingertips to tinker with.

What will you go back with?


Possibly the next big startup, and more importantly, extremely valuable knowledge about every step, protocol and process that goes into becoming an entrepreneur. These 3 days will catapult you into the journey of thinking like an entrepreneur for the rest of your life, and the applications are endless.

WHAT TO EXPECT


Friday: Attendees pitch their ideas and inspire others to join their teams. Teams are therefore created to work on the best ideas.

• Saturday and Sunday:
 This is where you debate, build, pitch. And build some more. Teams will focus on building a prototype of their idea/product. During this period teams will also focus on customer development, validating their ideas, practicing LEAN Startup methodologies and building a minimum viable product.

• Sunday:
 In the evening teams demo their prototypes and receive valuable feedback from a panel of experts.

Who can Participate?
 
Your prior educational qualifications or stream doesn’t matter at all. Your passion to innovate does.
Coming from a business, tech and design will be of immense help to you to create the perfect team.

• Domain experts and Business guys who know the market need on the tips of their fingers.

• Designers with a strong aesthetics and strong UI, UX skills.


• And most importantly, people who are not afraid of tinkering and getting their hands dirty and enjoy the art and business of Making!

Srishti Bajaj
Course Leader, Associate Professor at Pearl Academy

She has an M.A. in Design Products from the Royal College of Art, London and a creative entrepreneur who has also been hailed as one of “The top 20 creative entrepreneur in India” by IIM and the British council and She founded DesignBait – a multi-disciplinary design & research consultancy.A multi-faceted individual, Srishti currently is Head Designer and Fisher woman at DesignBait, a passionate educator and researcher, conducts skill development workshops in the craft sector with ILO and most importantly is a passionate advocate of design thinking and using its tools to propagate innovation leadership, she a was recently invited to speak at TED x Delhi.She has guided DesignBait since its inception in 2009 consulting for national and international companies like SeymourPowell UK, Designit UK, Plan Strategy, Development Alternatives, Apeejay Park Hotels, Jindal Steel, Asian Paints to name a few. Recognized for cutting edge work, She has been a recipient of prestigious Elle Décor International Design Award (EDIDA) and the Red Dot. DesignBait has successfully exhibited during London Design Week several times and has been published in various esteemed global magazines like Viewpoint UK, Designing Ways, Dwell, Elle Décor UK & India, Platform, Trend Bible, Business Standard, Mint, India Today, the Telegraph, Deccan Herald, India Today, LivingEtc, Home Review etc.


Sahil Mehta
Co-Founder, CTO at Lattice Innovations

Sahil Mehta specialises in biomedical engineering and hardware development. In his role as CTO, Sahil heads the hardware product development division of Lattice Innovations. He has developed 16 functional medical device prototypes/products in the past 6 years, across industry and academia. He has worked in orthopedics, diabetes, Ophthalmology and cardiovascular care, to develop prototypes of portable and wearable devices. 

Sahil also co-leads the partnership of Lattice Innovations with CAMTech (Consortium for Affordable Medical Technologies). As part of this role Sahil has organized 4 healthcare hack-a-thons across Kolkata, Bangalore and Hyderabad over the past 2 years. These events have seen over 600 participants, 45 partner organizations and over 120 novel technology innovations ranging from maternal and child health, diabetes management, cancer screening tools etc. The CAMTech community in India has now grown to over 1500 people.

Sahil co-founded Delhi Makers, Delhi/ NCR's first maker space, a community with over 200 participants who collaborate on prototyping and "making" articles ranging from usable cardboard furniture to 3D printers. Sahil is also the Technology advisor for the Kolkata Makersloft and has been working over the last few years to build up the maker community in East India.


Namrata Mehta
Director Innovation at Center for Knowledge Societies

Namrata Mehta is a Director – Innovation at the Center for Knowledge Societies, New Delhi. She has an undergraduate degree in Sociology from Delhi University, and a postgraduate diploma in Experimental Media Arts, from Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology, Bangalore. At CKS, she works closely on technology and infrastructure projects related to ‘mobilities’ in both urban and rural contexts. These range from mobile as well as telecommunication technologies, portable diagnostic devices and transport solutions. Prior to CKS, Namrata has developed games as a research tool for policy makers in the agricultural and urban infrastructure sector. 


Varun Heta
Technology Evangelist - India | Autodesk Evangelism and Emerging Technologies at Autodesk Inc.

Varun Heta works as a Technology Evangelist at Autodesk, Inc. He is responsible for Evangelism of Fusion 360, the 3D Design and Engineering software, in the Startup segment in Asia.In 2014, he co-founded Delhi's first makerspace and conducted masterclasses in Efficient UAV Design, 3D Printing and Robotics.
As an Evangelist, Varun helps other hardware startups under Autodesk banner and turn their dreams and ideas into reality. He expertises in product development and Open Source hardware designs. In his free time, he can be seen making eclectic things from wood or clicking photographs.


Aditi Gupta
Startup Consultant (Marketing and Fund Raising), Ahmedabad Coordinator - Lead Angels, Photographer

Aditi has spent most of her professional life being an entrepreneur or working with / for them. She is interested in the intersection between design, technology, entrepreneurship and sustainability and has experience in entrepreneurship, photography, design (design thinking, service design, product), technology (clean tech, healthcare, social tech), innovation (frugal, democratic), sustainability and retail.
