You will work with amazing people for 54 hours developing tech business to solve some of the most challenging and interesting social and environmental problems!

How can technology be a force for social good? We have incredible resources at our hands to solve social and environmental issues around us, what better time is there than now?

At Startup Weekend Social Innovation, you will find the right people to work on a product that solves a real problem, get coaching from experienced entrepreneurs and experts, and launch a social enterprise or project. Curated by MakeSense and Impact Hub Berlin, we are giving you space to turn your social startup ideas into reality!

Mohsen Malayeri

Mohsen is a startup and community enthusiast. He has been among organizers of the first staruupweekend in Iran, founder of Anetwork and Khavarzamin. Currently Mohsen is the vice president of Iran Entrepreneurship Association and he focuses on building startup ecosystem in Iran. Mohsen also provides entrepreneurs with mentorship and consulting and connects them with Venture Capitals and business angels.

Alireza Omidvar
Founder of CGR

Alireza has been a manager at Atieh Bahar consulting, responsible for consulting outside firms in Iran. He is the founder and CEO of Iranian Network for Corporate Governance and Responsibility which has been working since 2006 to promote corporate responsibility in Iran.

Shahin Tabary
Chairman of Board of Directors of Chargoon Companies

Shahin A. Tabari was born in August 1974 in the city of Tehran and studied Mechanical Engineering in the university. He graduated in this field in 1999. But thanks to his great interest in software production stepped into the state information technology arena as a professional expert. In 1998, he constructed a company, which is now providing entrepreneurship and rendering services as a successful entity and one of the best in the state software arena. He as the founder of Chargoon Company has been in the capacity of Managing Director for 13 years trying to promote Chargoon and at present is in the capacity of Chairman of Board of Directors of Chargoon Companies Group. In addition to broad activity in the state software arena and efforts for promoting the information technology in the country, he also acts as a professional athlete in the nationwide arena of health and sport.

Nazanin Daneshvar
Co-founder of Takhfifan and Tarinan website

Nazanin Daneshvar is a graduate of Bachelor and Master of Software Engineering from Amirkabir University. She has been active in the field of E-commerce for about 10 years. In recent years, she was working as Technical Director in England and Germany and she has always been looking for launching an independent business.Nazanin believes that those who are engaged in Startups should be highly motivated, creative and hard-working.At the present time, she is the co-founder of Takhfifan and Tarinan website.

Shayan Shalileh

Very few people have done as much for the Iranian Web ecosystem as Shayan. He started to write about the startups and Iranian websites since 2003 in Iranian Web News Agency (Webna). He also co-founded the Iran Web Festival (IWF), the leading event to honor excellency among Iranian websites.

Arash Barahmand
Editior in chief and co-founder of Peivast Monthly

Arash is editor in chief and co founder of Peivast monthly. Known as host and editor in chief many IT and tech shows in Iran TV he is more familiar to Persian users and audience as a recognised journalist and editor in many papers in more that a decade.
His sensitive, controversial and sometimes challenging view on Iranian IT business and politics has served him well but also his role in recognition and development of some most fortunate in commerce establishment also contributed to his fame. Being a key speaker and judge in many Iran startup events across nation characterised him as a devoted mentor to promotion and development of Iranian young ICT generation. Being the editor and one of key person in Iranian first strategies and governance ICT magazine plays a key role in his rising media image.

Mohammad Badri

Studied software engineering at sharif university of technology. Mohammad is a project manager in a wide variety of business applications and domains, consultant in software & systems process improvement, entrepreneur, and public policy researcher. CEO and founder of Software Innovation Laboratory.

Coaches and Mentors

Hadi Farnoud

Hadi established Acamedium company after completion of Master degree in Information and Business Systems Engineering from the University of Surrey. Acamedium that supported by government financial support and RackSpace University began his career in SETSquared incubator. Two years later he founded his second startup, ANY1, also entered the mobile arena.

Reza Ghiabi
Opportunity Maker - Director OPPMAKR Institute

He believes in a future where everyone has the opportunity to grow to their fullest potential and our collective ability to build that future together. He is an unshakable responsible optimist. Described as “a passionate entrepreneur with strategic intellect” and “a pillar of the start-up community in Iran”, Ghiabi teaches leaders and organizations how to grow to their fullest potential both individually and organizationally. With a bold goal to help build a world full of opportunities, Ghiabi is leading a movement to create high impact ventures. 

Eiman Basirati

Started advertising as a freelance designer in 2001, work with many Persian companies till 2011, next he started his work as an Art Director at the biggest advertising agency in Iran called Daarvag international 
(DDB Iran).

Bahareh Fatemi

Masters in Science  in International Healthcare Management and Bachelor of Engineering in Biomaterial Sciences and Tissue Engineering with a keen ability to conduct fundamental analysis. Skilled in handling multiple tasks such as employment, management, controlling, planning, while creating and maintaining high levels of efficiency and productivity. Strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, a strong work ethic and a track record of outstanding academic and professional performance.

Amir Vahid Roudsari
Android Developer

Graduated in Master of Mobile Application Design from Kent University. He moved back to Iran in January 2013. Following his return he started to work as an iOS and Android developer. He is well known for the Airport Information application.

Peyman Dayyani

Peyman Dayanni, SPHR, GPHR, MBA collaborative, inspirational, innovative, high-energy, bilingual, multi-certified global business leader with ability to face VUCA Challenges earned through over 20 years of senior level experience with world-class multinational corporations? Through his extensive people management career, he has developed expertise in leading organizational change, cross-border people process integration, global mobility and expatriate management, managing regional operational HR. In addition to his SPHR and GPHR certifications, from the U.S. an alumnus member of the Global Panel for the Society of HR Management (SHRM) serviced for two terms, and CIPD Licentiate and member PMI, he has a BS in management from Fitchburg College, MBA from the University of Liverpool (UK), and a Labor relation certificate from Cornell ILR.

He is executive manager of irPowerWeb company and online marketing manager of Tehran Internet company. Last year, Mohi launched a Crowdfunding platform called 2nate as a startup.
