Gary Leyden

Gary is an early stage technology investor. As Director of NDRC LaunchPad, he specialises in helping new ventures to create value propositions that contribute to building repeatable and scalable business models. He has invested in over 100 startups during the last four years, including Soundwave, Boxever, Fieldaware, Logentries, Newswhip, Bizimply and VideoElephant. As an entrepreneur himself, he founded both Computer Gym And Vrising. With a background in the ICT sector, Gary brings a strong customer focus to the organisations with which he works, aligning technical solutions with customer problems. He is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin and holds an MBA from the Smurfit Graduate School of Business.

Eoghan Doyle

Eoghan joined Philip Lee from one of the largest commercial law firms in Ireland. He advises on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, primarily across the areas of Corporate Transactional / M&A, Commercial Contracts, Intellectual Property and Corporate Advisory work. In addition, he heads up the Crowdfunding Unit at Philip Lee. He advices clients across an array of sectors including renewable energy, life sciences, ICT, private clients, utilities, media and entertainment, and professional advisors. 

Eoghan has a keen interest in, and regularly advises early stage companies on seed capital and more advanced funding rounds across the ICT, energy, and life sciences sectors. Kevin Abosch
Founder of Kimiko and OneOne

Kevin Abosch is a founder of a brand new photo app, Kimiko, and a new secure messaging app, OneOne. He is also an Irish visual artist and portrait photographer whose subjects include Johnny Depp, Meryl Streep, Steven Spielberg, Dustin Hoffman, Dennis Hopper, Yoko Ono and human rights activist Aung San Suu Kyi. His work has been seen in international magazine features and covers, including Vogue. An article in the March 2008 issue of Vogue Italia reads "Abosch knows the true face of a star". In January 2010, a major retrospective of Abosch's portrait photography was exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art Vojvodina in Serbia. In October 2011, a major exhibition launched in Dublin Airport's Terminal 2 of Abosch's "Faces of Ireland", a series of 250 photographs of people from Ireland.

Jeanne Kelly
Partner: Technology, Data Protection, Privacy and Contracts, LK Shields

Jeanne has had a market-leading commercial and technology practice for 20 years. She has led data protection compliance programmes for some of Ireland’s leading corporates as well as for multinationals with Irish operations.

Jeanne and her team provide a practical, solution-driven approach to data protection issues, and she has been a thought leader on GDPR preparedness strategies for several years, including during the negotiation period of the Regulation.

Jeanne is a regular speaker at conferences in Ireland and abroad on GDPR, legal issues for start-up and scaling companies and data privacy generally. Previous speaking engagements include IBA, ABA, UCD, TCD and Law Society of Ireland (including teaching on its MOOC on Data Protection Law).

Katharine Byrne
Partner Corporate Finance & Recovery at BDO Ireland

Katharine is Partner in charge of BDO’s Corporate Finance Team with over 15 years advising private and public companies in M&A and fundraisings.Katharine has built up considerable experience working with growth companies across a broad range of sectors including Technology, Healthcare, Retail and Leisure.

As part of the BDO International TMT team she has worked on several international assignments ranging from international VC investment through to AIM listing. Katharine also advises clients on business and strategic plans and has recently advised on several fundraising assignments.

Katharine is a Law Graduate from UCD and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2000.

Gerry Prizeman
Head of Enterprise Development at Bank of Ireland

Gerry Prizeman is a career banker with Bank of Ireland. He has extensive experience of working within varied functions of the Group including, among others, Branch Banking, Regional Offices, Head Office Departments including Enterprise Support Unit, Marketing, Strategy Unit, Franchising. He has also been the Head of Sales and Marketing for Bank of Ireland Mortgages and a Director of the ICS Building Society .

In 2012 he was appointed Head of Small Business and Agri with responsibility for the Bank's proposition for these key markets and for ensuring that the Bank continues to play a significant role in supporting small business and providing credit into the business/farming community.

In March of 2014 he took up the role of Head of Enterprise Development with responsibility for building the Bank's positioning as Ireland's Enterprise Bank and how it supports and engages SME's in enabling them to develop their business.

Eamon Leonard
Dubliner, Founder, Advisor, Angel.

Eamon Leonard is a founder, an advisor to start-ups, an angel investor, and a tech community organiser. Based in Ireland, he sold his company, Orchestra (a Platform-as-a-Service), to Engine Yard Inc., in 2011. There, he held the roles of VP Engineering and VP Developer Relations until August 2014.

He is currently in the process of founding a distillery, and will continue to invest in startup teams, products and opportunities.

Fionnuala Healy
Startup Development Manager, Trinity College Dublin

Fionnuala advises startups emerging from academic research, supporting innovations from idea through to economic impact. Previously, she was CTO of Gotcha Ninjas, an EdTech startup, and a strategy consultant and business advisor with Garavogue Consulting, and has a proven track record in leading and delivering complex engineering and IT global projects. She has a particular interest in effectively using big data and the resulting data security, protection, and privacy issues, and is an advocate of privacy by design. She became an engineer after watching a few too many episodes of MacGyver, loves it when a startup plan comes together, and in her spare time is a SUXmas elf. She is passionate about successfully supporting teams in delivering new and innovative ideas from inception to market success.

Serena Fritsch
Web Frontend Developer at Storyful - TECH MENTOR

Serena is a Front-End Web Developer for Storyful. She previously worked for various startups as front end and back end developer. Prior to that she was doing research in the Distributed Systems Group in Trinity College.
She loves enthusiastic people and creative people and co-organises Doodleledo Dublin.
Serena's primary technical skills are in JavaScript, HTML and CSS, Grails and a small bit of Ruby on Rails.

Kathryn Parkes
Director of UX & Design at Swrve

Kathryn Parkes is currently Director of UX & Design at Swrve. Formerly she led strategic design and research projects for iQ Content and led the R&D teams at ThirdForce & Electric Paper. She has been designing & developing user-centred interactive experiences for over 19 years, and is a prominent member of the UX community in Dublin.

Ed Fidgeon-Kavanagh
Chief Presentationist, Clearpreso

Ed is a pitch consultant who has helped startup clients raise over $20 Million in funding.

He helps his clients to deliver winning presentations that replace the usual “death by powerpoint” style of presentation with one that is simple, clear and engaging.

Having come from a business background he approaches presentations from both a business-sense as well as design standpoint, knowing that for a winning pitch both aspects need to be well thought out.

Paul Watson

Paul is a full-stack web developer and current CTO of Storyful with 12 years of experience in the industry. He previously worked as senior web-developer maintaining and developing features for Europe's largest
and most popular music video website, Prior to this Paul spent 5 years in the TSSG developing research ideas into commercially viable products. He founded and developed the initial FeedHenry offering out of the TSSG before moving onto industry partnership projects with O2 and Thomas Crosbie Holdings. Paul's primary technical skills are in Ruby on Rails, SQL, JavaScript, HTML and CSS.

Paul Hayes
CEO of Beachhut - TECH MENTOR

Paul is the CEO of Beachhut, a market-wolfing consultancy firm.  He was previously the marketing Director of Havok and Demonware. He is a marketing mentor to over 50 tech start-ups and works with a number of incubators, entrepreneurs and investors in Europe and the US . He is a founder of Games Ireland and regularly hosts tech conferences and panels in Ireland and beyond. He is also available for weddings and children's parties.

Adrian Mihai
Technology Consultant - TECH MENTOR

Adrian is a technology consultant with a strong hands-on development background. He was heavily involved in the development processes of entities like Lufthansa, National Geographic, Magnum Photos and WWF and is currently working as a core senior developer within the Rational Group of companies (65%+ share of the global online poker market) with a clear focus on the Full Tilt gaming platform. He is deeply interested in software and hardware architecture, streamlining of user experience, data manipulation, optimization of content delivery. Adrian has initiated and coordinated a national multimedia festival, Dracula PC Party for 5 consecutive years, an event that gathered several thousand participants in Romania. He is an avid fan of the SouthPark TV series, Survivor, snowboarding and a small Irish post-rock band, God is an Astronaut.

Alex Beregszaszi
Co-Founder at Signatur - TECH MENTOR

Alex has a strong background in software engineering and has been an active contributor to open source projects. In the past he has worked as a software architect for a financial company. Today he is the co-founder of Signatur, a security technology company and the makers of Bitcoin hardware wallets.

Lisa Domican
Social Entrepreneur - BUSINESS MENTOR

Lisa Domican is a Wicklow based mother of two autistic teenagers. She developed a simple picture communication App in collaboration with a successful Games Developer that allows non verbal people with Autism and other disabilities to communicate effectively, by creating sequences from images to form sentences. Her company, Grace App Communication sets out to demonstrate that independent communication support can be affordable, accessible and adaptable. Since launching in March 2010, Lisa and the Grace App have been awarded United Nations World Summit Award for M-learning & education, an Irish Web Award, Women Mean Business Award, Image Magazine Business Woman of the Year and David Manley Award for best Social Entrepreneur. She was selected as one of Silicon Republic's 100 women in STEM in 2014. 

Cristina Luminea

Cristina is the Founder and CEO of ThoughtBox, a Dublin based company, helping brands to engage young segments through Gameful Learning and interactivity. Previously she was part of the New Ventures & Innovation group in Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. TEDx speaker. Top 30 under 30 entrepreneurs in Ireland.

Conor Nolan

Conor is a graphic designer and is director of Conor & David, a studio he founded with David Wall in 2006. The focus of the studio's work is to create useful, beautiful, content-driven graphic design for print and screen, for a diverse range of clients.

Each project is considered as an opportunity to inject craft and a sense of play into the brief.

Louise Caldwell

Louise is the founder of Eventmama, a start-up that came through NDRC Launchpad 7.  Supported by Enterprise Ireland, Eventmama also took part of EI's SPRINT programme.  A DCU graduate in Business and eCommerce, and a member of the PRII (Public Relations Institute of Ireland).    Her areas of specialism are around finding out if anyone cares, at all, about your product/idea.  She know a good bit about marketing and community building too.

Shane Gray
Business Development Director for FCR Media - BUSINESS MENTOR

Shane is the Business Development Director at FCR Media, operators of and one of Ireland's largest digital media agencies serving SME's in Ireland.

Previously his career spanned several sectors from leveraged buyouts in retail, project management of private equity investments to software development.

Martin Kelly

Martin is passionate about entrepreneurship and an active mentor with a number of accelerator programs. He is also Co-founder of HealthXL - a global network for innovation in Healthcare.

He is also an advisory board member on the Innovation Fund Ireland and an advisor to Science Gallery (inc. co-curator of Hack the City).

He has been awarded Global Corporate Venturing Personality of the Year in 2012 for work with IBM SmartCamp.

Hilary Kenna
Founder/CEO SeeSearch - DESIGN MENTOR

Hilary is CEO/Founder of SeeSearch, a visual search and discovery platform for education, research and knowledge enterprises. She is an internationally award winning and published designer with 20 years experience and specialist expertise in UI/UX design and data visualisation. She designed the multiple award-winning iPad App, The Waste Land, for publishers Faber & Faber and Touch Press UK, and previously worked at US multinational, Vivendi Universal Games, as a Senior Producer for Games and Education consumer titles. She lectures part-time in Design and Digital Media at IADT where she was previously Programme Chair of of the BA(hons) in Visual Communication. Hilary has a PhD in Design Principles for Screen Typography from the University of Arts London and also consults as Head of Design & UX at Independent News and Media where she recently re-designed Ireland’s largest online newspaper

Sergey Lyubka
CEO at Cesanta Software - TECH MENTOR

Sergey is a founder of Cesanta Software, a technology company that specialises on smart device communication.

Prior to Cesanta, Sergey served as CTO of Netfort Technologies, an Irish network security startup, then worked at Google as an engineering manager. Sergey holds MS in Radiophysics and Electronics from Kiev State University. His main areas of expertise are service scalability, databases, networking, distributed computing.

David Tighe
Head of Enterprise and Innovation, Bank of Ireland

Dave has spent 18 years in Retail Banking in Ireland after graduating from Trinity College. David also holds an MBA from Manchester Business School. 

He has extensive experience across digital banking, the payments industry and innovation in financial products. He has been responsible for Credit Card, Deposits and Current Account product strategies and has delivered multiple new retail products to the Irish market.

His recent role in Bank of Ireland looks at long term planning, consumer behaviour changes, market planning and incubation and the integration of fintech and innovative start-ups. He is responsible for Bank of Ireland workbench and Startlab initiatives which incubate and support the vibrant tech ecosystem across Ireland. He is also responsible for the Bank of Ireland Enterprise programme supporting business and community growth in Ireland through National Enterprise Towns and Awards and the digital platform

Kirk Donohoe
Kirk Donohoe is a Digital Product Manager and Entrepreneur - BUSINESS MENTOR

With a university education in law, science and data science he applies a multi-disciplinary approach coupled with a wealth of product management experience to innovation, problem solving and business model generation.

Kirk works for MasterCard as the European Program Director for Startup Engagement and Acceleration. His day to day activities involve engaging, mentoring and accelerating high potential commerce focused Startups.  

David Bowles
Delta Partners VC

David Bowles joined Delta in 2012 where he focuses primarily on ICT opportunities in Ireland and the UK.

Following time at IBM and Merrill Lynch, David joined McKinsey & Company Consulting where he advised a wide range of clients including internet start ups, mobile phone operators and private equity firms.

After McKinsey, David joined the senior management team of ezetop as the Head of Online and Head of Product before leaving to advise a number of multi-nationals and start-up companies in the areas of online sales, technology and fund-raising.

David received a Masters in Business from Smurfit Business School, University College Dublin (2007) and a BA Mod in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin (2006).

He is co-founder of Startup Newfoundland & Labrador and as Startup Ambassador is actively linking startups globally. As the first Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Memorial University, he was an strong advocate for student startups

Raphaël Savina
Organiser GDG Dublin - TECH MENTOR

Raphaël’s main occupation is as a project manager at Iota Localisation Services, looking after the multilingual requirements of several large clients. He is also one of the organisers for the Google Developers Group Dublin which runs regular meetings for developers who are interested in Google's developer technology. Additionally, he is the CEO of Net Wi-Fi Europe, a company that provides hotspot access points to hotels, campsites, ...
