H.E. Majd Shweikeh
Minister of ICT

Majd Shweikeh, Founder and President of Masharek, an Exclusive Strategic Partner of 360Solutions LLC, is a CMA, a holder of GSMP certificate, Certified Professional Coach and who brings over 25 years of executive experience with a vision and devotion to empower and share success with others.
 
Shweikeh has provided expertise in business modelling transformation and development, operations establishment and strategic leverage identification, processes enhancement, systems establishment, commercial and time to market modelling, Account management, program and project guidance, fiscal oversight, quality assurance, customers’ satisfaction and Corporate Governance.
 
Before getting into the entrepreneurial world, Mrs. Shweikeh assumed top positions in different local and regional companies. From 2010 till 2012, she was the Group CEO of VTEL Middle East and Africa Limited; leading 4 different Telecom companies, in GSM, Wireless Local Loop, Fiber Optic and CDMA in Jordan, Iraq, and Africa.
 
Mrs Shweikeh was the Vice President of Jordan Telecom Group and CEO Orange Mobile until 31st May 2010. She had held this position since January 2006; where she was named as the first Female CEO for a Telecommunication Company in the World.
 
Prior to assuming the CEO position, she was the Chief Financial Officer and member of the Operating Committee since 2000 for MobileCom (currently branded Orange Mobile); the second mobile operator in Jordan.
 
Mrs. Shweikeh is the Vice Chair for the Young Presidents’ Organization Jordan Chapter, Women Young President Organization Regional Chair, and was previously the President of the International Women’s Forum / Jordan Chapter till June 2013; Majd is an active member at the Economic and Social Council of Jordan; and a member in the Economic Policy Development Forum. She is also at the Board of Directors for Bank Al-Eithad, assuming the position of the head of the Audit Committee; member at the Governance

Committee and member at the Strategy Committee. Board member in Iotum a Teleconferencing Co based in Toronto Canada Ontario;
 
Mrs. Shweikeh has recently been appointed as a board member at the Health Care Accreditation Commission.
 
Mrs. Shweikeh has served different board of Directors in the past: Board of Trustees Israa University, Board member at Friends of Global Fund to fight Aids, Malaria and Tuberculosis, Board member at the Social Security Investment Unit from 2006 till 2009. A Board member at The Palestinian Telecommunication Company (PALTEL) from 2010 till 2012; board member at Itisaluna Iraq, Newroz Telecom Kurdistan, Tempo Africell Burundi, and VTEL Holdings Limited Jordan.
 
Since 1992 Mrs. Shweikeh was the Finance Manager at DHL, the international carrier service,; Project Accountant for budgeting and project planning at the American International Contractor Inc. (AICI) from 1988 to 1992; and an Auditor with Arthur Anderson in 1987.
 
As of today, Mrs. Shweikeh has run more than ten Leadership workshops with 120 different Executives from top notch Companies in the Middle East. Focusing on Leadership skills, empowerment, communication, time management, problem solving, conflict handling, and decision making.
 
Mrs. Shweikeh is coaching and mentoring men and women from different sectors, unleashing their highest potential in achieving excellence personally and professionally.
 
Mrs. Shweikeh is a very active mentor with Oasis 500; where she helps entrepreneurs in business planning, sales and marketing activities, in an attempt to help them grow their companies and achieve their vision while supporting them mitigate their financial, strategic and commercial challenges.
 
Mrs. Shweikeh, is the managing Partner of 360 Solutions LLC in the Middle East, and is the High Performance Leadership Faculty member since Feb 2013- USA
 
 
 
Mrs. Shweikeh holds a first class Honours BSc in Finance from Yarmouk University and she received the Certified Management Accountant certification from the USA in 1999; and in 2012; Mrs. Shweikeh received the Global Senior Management Certificate from both University of Chicago and IE University in Spain.
 
Mrs. Shweikeh is a Certified Professional Coach form the World Coach Institute- USA.


Ibrahim Faza
Seed Fund Manager @ King Abdullah University of Science & Technology (KAUST)

Ibrahim Faza is entrepreneur, fund manager, startups advisor and technology manager. He is serving as Coach, mentor and judge at leading startup events in the region such as Startup Weekend, ArabNet and MIT Arab Startup Competition

Ibrahim worked as Seed Fund Manager at King Abdullah University of Science & Technology (KAUST), where he managed an investment of USD 2M per annum aiming to help moving promising ideas from KAUST labs toward commercialization and formation of new businesses. During two years at KAUST, Seed Fund Program invested in 13 startups results in 4 spinoff,  creation of 20+ high level job and $4M+ raised investment.
Before joining KAUST, Mr. Faza was a cofounder and CEO of two startups in the field of smartphone application and mobile payment in Jordan.
Earlier Mr. Faza joined DAMAMAX group as Technology Manager, where he built and managed technical department of two telecom startups in Sudan and Jordan. Prior to that, Mr. Faza served as Technical Manager at Huawei, Telecom Product Manager at JCCS in Riyadh, and as a Sales Engineer at Siemens AG.

Nasser H. Saleh
CEO & Founder @ Madfoo3atCom

In 2011, Nasser Saleh established Madfoo3atCom, acquiring the IP license to utilize the core engine software platform of the main aggregator of SADAD and customizing it for Jordan. After realizing how long it took to sign one client at a time, Nasser decided to approach the Central Bank of Jordan to propose his solution for all of the country’s banks.  In June 2013, the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a solution that would build and operate a national online electronic bill presentment and payment system (JO-EBPPS), a project known as eFawateerCom. Competing against five other solutions from the region and Europe, Madfoo3atCom won the tender as main contractor because of Nasser’s experience managing the implementation of SADAD, his capable team, as well as a strategic partnership he had previously secured with Emerging Markets Payments (EMP), the company that manages Jordan’s ATM network (JONET). Nasser holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Jordan and has with more than 19 years of experience in the IT, banking & consulting sectors (Accenture, AlRajhi bank, KSA SADAD Project and Microsoft).


Kamal Alhmoud
Co-founder and CEO @ Aster Company

Kamal Alhmoud: EY Entrepreneur of the year 2014, While pursuing a computer science degree, he found himself drawn to business and the desire to create positive change in the community he lives in.
He loved his city but was bothered by all the pollution he was seeing and lack of planting spaces around his neighborhood.
Juggling between computer and business courses, he started working on his business idea during his third year of university in 2012; Aster Company flourished aiming to create a greener environment utilizing unused spaces.
He founded Aster Startup company to become the first company in the Middle Eat to provide the service of planting rooftop gardens.

Karim Al Zou’bi
COO @ AFDM

Karim Al Zou'bi joined AFDM in 2013 as it's COO bringing to the table over 15 years of experience in the field of marketing and digital solutions.  Prior to his work in AFDM Karim Al Zou’bi worked with Umniah in 2011 as VAS & Data Manager in the marketing department, and was responsible for creating and launching new products in value added services, data and 3G services. In 2010, Karim held the position of VAS Expert at Asiacell in Sulaimaniya, Iraq, where he was responsible for building the telecom company’s VAS calibre, overseeing its daily operations and supporting the maximization of its promotions and service effectiveness.  Prior to joining Asiacell, Karim worked as the General Manager at Ijazza for Information Systems in 2008, directing the company’s administrative and strategic operations to enhance its overall performance. Before that, Karim served as the Mobile Data Services Team Leader in Zain (previously Fastlink). He also held several positions within various departments at Batelco Jordan during the period 2001 till 2004. Karim holds a BA in Banking and Finance from Al Ahliyyah Amman University.


Rami Al-Karmi
Entrepreneurship & Investment Advisor at Zain

Rami Al-Karmi is a proud geek, investor, and widely recognized adviser on strategy, business model innovation, and building lean startup ecosystems.  an LP & Mentor at 500 Startups in San Francisco. 
He founded his 1st startup at the age of 19. Till date, his footprint includes more than 100 companies in MENA and Silicon Valley that he either invested in, mentored, served on their boards of directors, or advisory boards.
Rami holds an Electrical Engineering degree from University of Jordan, he completed the Venture Capital Executive Program at HAAS UC Berkeley, and “The Leading for the future”, and “The Leading, Organizing for Action” Executive Programs at Harvard Kennedy School, and the Senior Executive Education Program at UC San Diego. He currently serves on the board of trustees at Elia Nuqul Foundation, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Arcoten Holdings, and Octonious. Rami is a passionate advocate of the Lean Startup and customer development methodology and is a regular judge, mentor & keynote speaker at the region's important entrepreneurship & technology events. 


Firas Abu Washah

Firas Abu Wishah is a member of the Board of Directors at Petra Engineering Industries, a family owned designer and manufacturer of commercial and industrial air-conditioning equipment located in Amman, Jordan. 
 
Firas graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2003.
 
At present Petra exports to over 40 countries worldwide. In the United States alone, Petra has a presence in over 25 states, with over 850 projects installed nationwide. 

Verizon Communications and Lockheed Martin represent some of Petra’s oldest repeat clients having equipment installed in more than twenty sites. Other Petra clients include: NASA, the Empire State Building, Facebook, Google, Amazon, Walt Disney World, and Trump Tower Hawaii. 

In the Middle East, Saudi Aramco, SABIC, the Kuwait Oil Company, Qatar Petroleum, Ras Gas, Qatar University, the St. Regis AD, Emirates Aluminum, Royal Jordanian, and the King Hussein Cancer Center are among Petra's clients. 
 
Firas is one of the founding members and President of the Entrepreneur’s Organization (EO) chapter in Jordan. He is also a member and former board member of the Middle East Leadership Academy, affiliate of the Society of International Business Fellows (SIBF). 

Firas is married and has two boys, Kareem and Layth.


Laura Alhmoud
Acting Director of the E- Government program @ Ministry of ICT

Laura started her career at the e-government program since its inception in 2002. Her passion for transforming the way government and citizens interact was unwavering over the last 13 years. That fueled her ambition to gradually build up her influence level within the program  to see that vision through. Her perseverance, leadership, ongoing self-development, remarkable relationship management skills, strategic focus, and the strong project management competences, Laura now sits in the driver seat as the acting director of the e-Government program. 

Since she accepted the role in March 1st 2015, Laura has set the stage for a comprehensive shift in the e-Government direction leveraging her strong network of influencers in the public and private sector to drive this change, established innovative programs and initiatives to reach out the critical mass of user through understanding their needs and develop services at no cost for government through partnering with leading mobile industry players and connecting with start-ups ecosystem fostering innovation and collaboration

Laura holds a Masters degree in Enterprise Management from University of Durham in England, a certified Project management professional and completed an executive leadership program from Sand Hurst University in England .


Emile Cubeisy
Managing Partner @ Silicon Badia

Emile Cubeisy serves as the Managing Director at IV Holdings. Mr. Cubeisy is the Managing Director at Accelerator Technology Holdings Limited. He leads Accelerator's early-stage investment efforts and is in involved in business development efforts. He is a Managing Partner and Managing Director at Silicon Badia. He served as a Vice President of Group Business Development at the firm and joined it in 2005. He was an Advisor to the Minister on e-initiatives at the Ministry of Information and Technology of Jordan and was also the Program Director of the Jordanian education initiative. He serves as a Director of Jeeran, Conservus, ShooFeeTV, and Arab Media Holding Company. He serves as the Chairman of NetCorps Jordan. He has been a Director of Content Syndicate Inc. since April 2009. He served as a Director of ICT Promotion and Oasis 500. Mr. Cubeisy has over 15 years of experience in technology and industry development, education, and entrepreneurship. Mr. Cubeisy holds a Bachelors degree in Economic and Political Science from the University of Southern California and completed the Senior Executive Program at the Harvard Business School.

Mohammad Albattikhi
Acceleration Manager at Oasis500

Mohammad Albattikhi is the Acceleration Manager at Oasis500. He is also an entrepreneur, a consultant and a trainer. He guide entrepreneurs by helping them define the scope of their companies and providing them with the tools and contacts necessary to achieve meaningful milestones with their business ventures. 

Prior to joining Oasis500, Mohammad co-founded and directed Western Michigan University’s Business Accelerator, Starting Gate.  He also founded various startups in the technology, creative and social space. 

He is also involved with many global organizations that are fostering the startup ecosystem, such as Startup Blink, Startup Grind, Startup Weekend and Startup Digest. 

Mohammad has an MBA from Western Michigan University, where he worked as a Research and Teaching Assistant at the Marketing and Management departments. He focused his studies and research on entrepreneurship, business modeling and disruptive innovation.


Bader Sartawi
UX Designer @ Simple World / Vardot

I kicked-off my career with a Graphic Design Course in 2001, and got couched for print design and pre-productions. My passion for advertising and the desire to do conceptual copywriting and Graphic Design led me to study English Literature and me freelance in 2004-2008. In 2008 I joined Horizon-FCB Amman as a senior graphic designer, then moved to work for Brandwill Jeddah in 2009, where I fell in love with interactive design, digital and social media. I worked for multinational such as Saudi Business Machines (IBM), McVities, Bupa Insurance, Goody Foods, Munch Bakery, just to name a few. Isra' Noufal
Project Manager/Lead Graphic Designer

Isra'a Noufal is a multidisciplinary graphic designer with an eye for innovation and pixel perfection. Isra'a has a vast skill set with great expertise in brand identity design, interactive webdesign and mostly in her original patterns. She is currently a Project Manager/Lead Graphic Designer at The Experienced for Software and IT and the Lead Graphic Designer for up-and-coming design and marketing agency; Adgraphy.


Ahmad AlHuwwari

Ahmad is a UX consultant/Manager. That is a fancy way of saying he plans how to present the things you see on your computer screen, so that they are easy to 

understand, engaging and compelling. Things like the navigation, forms, categories and words on intranets, websites, web applications and business systems. 

He has been doing this professionally since 2006; also, he is a regular speaker at UX events.

Mujtaba Al-Tamimi

"One for all and all for one" is Mujtaba's Motto. He dropped out of college to cofound Zenzic, a crowdsourcing platform for educational illustrations. He is also the co-founder of Fikra Space - Baghdad's first Hackerspace and the co-organizer of Startup Weekend Baghdad. His favorite hacks are programming Android apps after midnight and using Arduino to automate the world. His dream is to see students go to school wearing shorts and sandals. When he's not busy plotting the best plan to fix the education system in Iraq, you can find him playing Frisbee or inline skating with his little brother who he loves more than anything in this world.
