Fadi Mikati

Fadi Mikati is the co-founder and director of Tripoli Entrepreneurs Club. He works as a senior financial analyst at Kafalat SAL, a credit guarantor for SMEs in Lebanon. Fadi is also a university instructor and Islamic Finance expert.
In partnership with promising entrepreneurs, Fadi is in the process of establishing a new venture in Tripoli, currently in the R&D phase.
Fadi is also a social activist and a member of TripoliLB Global Shapers, an initiative by the World Economic Forum consisting of a network of city-based Hubs developed and led by young leaders. He graduated from the Lebanese American University with an MBA degree.
Fadi is passionate about Arabic poetry, sports and pasta.

Ubilitynet is a telecom company that provides innovative end to end policy solutions for mobile operators in order to enhance their customers’ experience and increase their revenues.

Farah Sultan

Farah Sultan is a regional project manager at Thomson Reuters. Besides her background in engineering management, Farah is passionate about communication and leadership and is currently serving as area governor in Toastmasters International-Lebanon. Farah has previously served as a judge in local entrepreneurial competitions and has co-run business pitching trainings.


Fawaz Hamidi

Is the general Manager at BIAT, Business Incubation Association in Tripoli, a consortium of three organizations funded by the European Union under the Euro-Mediterranean neighborhood policy to support SMEs, promote innovation, plan and implement Economic Development programs and projects in North Lebanon.

Mohamad Khalil

Born in Akkar Atika, in North Lebanon in 1973. He obtained an engineering degree in electrical and electricity from the Lebanese University, faculty of engineering, Tripoli, Lebanon in 1995. He received the DEA in biomedical engineering from the University of Technology of Compiegne (UTC) in France in 1996. He received his Ph.D from the University of Technology of Troyes in France in 1999. He received his HDR (Habilitation a diriger des recherches) from UTC in 2006. He is currently researcher at Lebanese University. He is director of the Azm center for research in biotechnology at the doctoral school of sciences and technology at the Lebanese university. He is the chair of the EMBS chapter in Lebanon. His current interests are the signal and image processing problems: detection, classification, analysis, representation and modeling of non stationary signals, with application to biomedical signals and images. Number of publications: 40 articles in international Journals, 100 participations in conferences.    


Coaches and Mentors


Abdallah Nassereddine

Abdallah Nassereddine is an associate professor in economics at the Faculty of Business Administration at Beirut Arab University. He holds a PhD in economics from the University of Kent in England. He has r 9 years of teaching experience. Before joining Beirut Arab University, he worked for several universities in the UK such as Westminster Business School and the University of Greenwich. He is also a fellow at the Centre for the Study of Advanced and Emerging Economies at the University of London and has several publications. Abdallah has served as a consultant for numerous respected NGOs. He has been involved in several EU funded projects and is currently working on an environmental project in collaboration with London School of Economics. 


Chadi Nohra

Received the MS degree in Electrical and Electronics engineering from the Lebanese university , Lebanon, in 1997, and the PhD degrees in Control and Automation from Paul Cezanne University - Aix Marseille III-France in 2009. He joined the department of Electrical Engineering , Beirut Arab University, as Assistant professor in 2012. His current research interests include Electrical Machines Diagnostics, Diesel Modeling & Diagnostics.


Mohamad Ali

Born in Lebanon in 1978. He received the master degree from École Nationale Supérieure d'Ingénieurs de Constructions Aéronautiques, Toulouse, France  and Ph.D. degree from Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse, France, in 2005 and 2009 respectively. Since 2011, he has been with, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Beirut Arab University, Lebanon, where he is currently an Assistant Professor. His main areas of research interest are structures of mechanical systems, mechanical vibrations and mechanical assembly. 


Dani Arnaout
CTO @ Saily

A couple of years back, Dani participated in his very first Startup Weekend. Ever since, he got addicted to it, so he started coaching, judging, organizing, and now facilitating Startup Weekends all around the world! After winning three prizes at local & regional entrepreneurship competitions, he finally co-founded Saily, a peer-to-peer marketplace. Dani is a software engineer, specifically in the mobile apps development field. So he will also offer valuable advice & technical help throughout the event by sharing his silicon-valley experience with the attendees.


Rachad Baroudi

Rachad baroudi, is the director and co-founder of Green ways S.A.R.L a leading waste management and recycling company in Tripoli. Rachad is a lawyer and a legal advisor; he received his law diploma from the Lebanese university, and he is also holding a BA degree in business management.
Rachad has a diversified experience in different business sector, where he worked as a banker for two years then he moved to work in marketing and advertisement sector till he decided to start his entrepreneurial journey when he won with his friend the first prize of the best business plan in north Lebanon and found their company green ways.
Rachad is a social and legal activist, where he participated and organized different social and cultural events and initiatives; he is the north Lebanon coordinator and member of the Lebanese landlord syndicate where he creates with his colleagues a legal and political lobby that pushed for the issuing of the first law that liberate real estates from the coercive rent contracts.


Najwa Sahmarani
Founder at Alkindy

A  Social Entrepreneur and Business Developer. Najwa is the co-founder and Vice President of Tripoli Entrepreneurs Club where she designs and manages Programs aimed at enabling youth to start their own entrepreneurial journey. Najwa is also the Founder of Alkindy, a Collaborative Space, Learning Hub and Social Incubator for Tripolitan youth - launched following a successful crowd funding campaign on Zoomaal. Earlier in her career, she was part of the founding team of CardioDiagnostics, a high-tech biomedical venture based in Lebanon specialized in the design of innovative heart monitoring solutions targeting mainly the US market. Najwa pursued a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering at the Lebanese American University.
Najwa is actively working on community projects especially in the areas of entrepreneurship, education delivery to underprivileged areas as well as building capacity and leadership among youth. She is a Global Shaper at TripoliLB Hub – an initiative by the World Economic Forum. 


Layla El Zein

Layla is an Entrepreneur and Professional Coach, with a background in Communications Engineering (CCE, AUB) and higher education in Business Management (MBA, Erasmus, The Netherlands). She is currently pursuing her professional coaching certification with the International Coaching Federation. Her international career started with Technology Solutions Management at Ericsson and Vodafone, running projects across Asia, Africa and Europe. She then moved to Strategy and Business Development with UNICEF and Oxfam in The Netherlands. Layla’s entrepreneurial journey started thereafter as Managing Partner & Chief Strategy and Operations Officer at CardioDiagnostics, a medical technology company headquartered in San Francisco. Today, Layla is leading her own startup, which aims at complementing existing education and professional learning programs by providing solutions centered on life experiences and targeted potential management across education and business sectors. Layla is co-founder and active member of Tripoli Entrepreneurs Club (TEC). She is also an activist for human rights, with a focus on peace and education. In 2013, she was on the support team of the professional convoy to Gaza organized by the British journalist and activist Harry Fear. She co-organized, hosted, and moderated multiple TEDx events. She is a published Photographer, prize-winning Strategist, and a certified Kilimanjaro Climber.


Saly Khalaf
Environmental specialist and Social entrepreneur

Saly Khalaf, Co-founder and Process Manager in “Green Ways”; leading waste management company in North Lebanon.
Saly is an Environment expert graduated from the Lebanese University holding a BS in “Health & environment” and Master’s degree in “Environmental Expertise”. After her experiences in the food lab, agriculture and waste management sectors, Saly won with her friend the first prize for the best business plan in North Lebanon which was a turning point in her life where afterward they founded their company and today “Green Ways” is running the only sorting and recycling factory in Tripoli.
As a social activist, she founded with her friends a youth leading social organization Called “New Youth Generation Organization” aiming for youth empowering and capacity building. Last November, Saly was a TEDx speaker and her speech was titled “Yes, Youth can change the City.


Rami Alameddine

Rami Alameddine is a Marketer and Junior Psychologist who’s passionate about hacking the mind to unlock its secrets as well as mend it. Rami is currently working on 2 startups, MyHerooz a gamified augmented reality peer-to-peer tasking platform that turns people into superheroes in the real world through the act of kindness. He is also a consultant for U3abber.com, the first online therapy website in the MENA Region.


Abdul-Rahman Ayoubi

Abdul-Rahman Ayoubi is A Marketer and Social Media expert. Abdul Rahman has been engaged in the job market ever since he was eight. He is the Project Coordinator of a scholarship program dedicated to help university students among Syrian refugees pursue their education in Lebanon. Abdul Rahman has been nurturing an innovative business idea with knowledge and expertise since he joined Tripoli Entrepreneurs Club and he is currently working as a social media free-lancer with several SMEs in Tripoli.
He treasures human relationships and loves to make new friends. But above all, adventure is the ultimate happiness.


Amin Hashem

Instructor of Accounting and finance with 5 years of teaching Undergraduate program at various Lebanese universities. At Beirut Arab University, Head of unit for budgeting and planning with comprehensive experience.
A small business coach who helps Students makes the transition from part time worker to successful entrepreneur. Amin started his coaching business in 2009 to help Students deal with the sometimes-overwhelming prospect of starting a new business while still studying. 
Prior to coaching, Amin held several training on the accounting software used locally and tax declarations to give students the opportunity reverence to find a greater opportunity to work and therefore reap money.


Saad Ruslan

A graphic designer and a decorated illustrator / artist with a blog that has 145,000 viewers and counting. As a social activist, he is a member of many local NGOs and social groups; volunteering, co-organizing events and successful campaigns nurtured with his passion to art which brought him to create "SketchJam Tripoli" an active art group with a mission to bring awareness to the importance of art.
He is currently working on a project organized by "AIE club" in collaboration with "SketchJam Tripoli" painting walls and stairs of an old neighborhood in Tripoli, bringing color back to the city.
Saad introduced Manga (Japanese comic art) to Northern Lebanon; and amongst the first manga artists in the entire country. He currently has few stories in the making.
The Designer, the positivity beacon, the joker in TEC is learning a lot from his colleagues, opening his eyes to business and planning successful events in the process of fulfilling his dream, an art academy / agency for young artists across the Arab region if not the globe.


Bashir Osman

Bashir is a Computer Software Engineer and Tech Entrepreneur. He currently works as a Network Security Engineer for OOREDOO in Doha, Qatar. Bashir is also a Certified Professional Hacker, a Technology Consultant for BlackBerry as well as an Ambassador for Truecaller.

In 2013, one of Bashir's startups "BBerryPin" was acquired by BlackBerry. This acquisition changed the way people use BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) forever. Users of this secure instant messaging application can now find friends within the application and engage in a more social experience.

Bashir recently founded TechGeek365, a tech blog where he and his team post articles about technology, social media, mobiles, gadgets, startups, entrepreneurship and so much more. TechGeek365 is currently a media partner for several major events including the BAU Startup Weekend North Lebanon & the MENA ICT Forum in Amman, Jordan.

In his spare time, Bashir loves attending all types of tech related events and forums, inspiring other entrepreneurs through his acquired skills and experience, experimenting with new technologies, creating new app prototypes, hacking and drinking coffee.


Karim Majzoub

Graduated from Beirut Arab University as a Computer Engineer, currently working with Engineering Design and Manufacturing Company as a Research Design Engineer. During my years of work, i have participated in several projects inside and outside Lebanon and during my eduction period I managed many cermonies with Beirut Arab University such as Engineering Days, Open Days , Moultaka El Ibdaa and finally Startup Weekends.


Mohammed Touban

entrepreneur who loves coding, tech enthusiasts and ethical hacker.

Mohammad graduated from Beirut Arab University with a Bachelor in Computer Science.
He is fascinated in mobile apps who has been crafting them for the past 3 years.
Now, he is currently working on his startup “Morshid” and hopes one day his solution will be available worldwide.
Mohammed has been granted several awards including Beirut Social Innovation, SW Mount Lebanon and GSB champions circle.
As a previous winner of startup weekend and global startup battle his main purpose this year is to help, mentor, and inspire teams by sharing his small experience.


Reem Dernaika

Born in Lebanon in 1983. She got her Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering from Beirut
Arab University ,she is in the process of acquiring her Master degree from Balamand University.
Starting 2011, Reem is an administration member and assistant teacher in Beirut Arab university.She is an expert
in web development and design with a special interest in SEO, and e-marketing.
She has worked at the nonprofit organization Azm Saade as the head of Web and E-Marketing/advertising
departments.
