Launch a startup in 54 hours

Mega Startup Weekend JB at UTM is a 54-hour event that bring together designers, developers, entrepreneurs, and expert from all domains for a weekend long experiential workshop to pitch ideas, form teams, and start companies. 

You’ll be immersed in the ideal environment for startup magic to happen. Surrounded by smart, passionate people and with the best tools and approaches at your disposal, you’ll take giant leaps toward creating a business, becoming a founder, and connecting with the right people and resources. 

In just 54 hours, you will experience the highs, lows, fun, and pressure that make up life at a startup. As you learn how to create a real company, you’ll meet the very best mentors, investors, cofounders, and sponsors who are ready to help you get started.

Friday April 29th

Registration
Arrive at the venue and get checked in

Dinner & Networking
Eat food, share ideas, practice pitches, get to know fellow participants

Welcome & Speakers
Review agenda for the weekend and introduce speakers, coaches, and community leaders

Pitches Start
Optionally line up to give your pitch

Voting
Attendees vote for the top pitches

Form Teams
Teams start forming and discussing ideas


10:00 pm
Begin Work
Start to formalize teams and take an inventory of skills. Be honest, and direct about what resources and skills are needed for the weekend. You may stay and work as late as the venue will allow

Lim Feng
Cofounder, START MALAYSIA

Feng a startup founder and community builder in Malaysia. Currently, he run the largest startup community in the southern region of Malaysia throughSTART Malaysia and various programmes such as Startup Grind & Founder Institute. His work involves building a thriving & sustainable startup ecosystem, managing startup programs, working together with the some of the brightest mind & passionate entrepreneurs in Malaysia & across South East Asia. Feng grew up in a small town in Johor, surrounded by best food one could find in Malaysia, with a strong desire to involve in business. He graduated from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK, specialising in business structuring, taxation & financial management. Feng co-founded an event company focusing specifically on tech events in 2014 and eventually found a passion in building talent resources & local economies while helping startups success. When he's not working, he can be found in one of the best coffee places in town and mentoring startups, founders on marketing, pitching & financial modeling.
