No talk, all action. Launch a startup in 54 hours!

Have a great idea? Ever wondered what it takes to be an entrepreneur? Want to learn more about startups? Startup Weekend is the place for you!

All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model: anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams organically form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and then it’s a 54 hour frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. The weekends culminate with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders with another opportunity for critical feedback.

Whether you found a company, find a cofounder, meet someone new, or learn a skill far outside your usual 9-to-5, everyone is guaranteed to leave the event better prepared to navigate the chaotic but fun world of startups. If you want to put yourself in the shoes of an entrepreneur, register now for the best weekend of your life!

Startup Weekend is a global grassroots movement of active and empowered entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures. It is the largest community of passionate entrepreneurs with over 1800 past events in 120 countries around the world.

Dominik Blattner
Co-founder & CEO @ Cupenya

After working as an enterprise consultant, in 2013 I started Cupenya, where Artificial Intelligence meets Customer Service. My main focus is our vision, go-to-market strategy as well as to transition our business model from an enterprise market with few clients but big contracts and long sales cycles into the SMB SaaS market.

Being a mentor for SWUtrecht since a couple of years, I'm excited to get to know and support this year's teams.

Martijn Geerlings
Head of Sales @ Optimizely, previously Google

During his studies in Political Science Martijn fell in love with the democratic powers of the web and held different roles at local startups. All of them rather undefined. After graduation he decided that internet is a lot more exciting than the municipality and left Amsterdam to go work for Google where worked on different products in different cities over the course of five years. About a year ago he joined Optimizely when they opened up their EMEA HQ in Amsterdam where he now heads up business development for the BNLX & Nordic markets. Get a hold of Martijn if you want to learn more about search advertising, conversion optimization and how these tools can be used for low-cost testing of ideas & functionalities.

Paul Stomph
Co-Founder & CEO @ Qwiksense

I am a dreamer and enthusiast. The minute I graduated in Building Engineering in 2011, I ran to the Chamber of Commerce and never worked under a boss ever since. The regular 9 to 5 thing doesn’t interest me, neither does the pursuing of someone else’s bestowed vision. When my first startup became a fact I participated in several programs like UtrechtInc, Climate-KIC accelerator and Rockstart Accelerator as the CEO & Co-Founder of QwikSense B.V.
