For the third time we are having a Startup Weekend in Christchurch. Following our great event last year at Epic Innovation Campus in the centre of Christchurch, we are repeating the event.

Event Judges

Colin Andersen
Managing Director & Founder

Colin brings 28 years experience in business development, governance, change management, strategy and financial modelling. He is recognised as a specialist in Shared Services strategy and Data Governance. Prior to establishing Effectus in 2007, Colin was founding CEO of SQL Services Ltd, growing this into an international database services company and completing a successful sale.  Following the Christchurch earthquakes Colin co-led the successful development of the EPIC Innovation Campus as a lead initiative for re-establishment of the CBD.

Raf Manji

I’m a Londoner who moved to Christchurch, New Zealand in 2002. After studying economics and finance at Manchester University and a couple of years of backpacking, I ended up working in the financial markets in London. I traded the global financial markets on behalf of investment banks for 11 years. Since moving to NZ, I have been an angel investor, budget advisor, director, trustee, mentor and business consultant. I'm currently a Councillor at Christchurch City Council and a Trustee of the Volunteer Army Foundation and the Christchurch Arts Festival Trust.

Judith holds significant experience in leading technology and tourism businesses from start-up phase to multimillion dollar global businesses. Judith is a big fan of 'born global’ businesses and as a true Southerner holds a global vision for the region to inspire all New Zealanders.

Lenz is a Startup Punk that has his roots in the first .com bubble back in the 90s and has been active in the scene ever since. 10 years ago he changed the Bavarian Alps for New Zealand and now lives in the Southern Alps and runs global companies from there. He has been part of the New Zealand Startup community since 2007 and currently works on new ways to work with businesses to thrive in a changing world.

Mike loves working with motivated individuals and teams as they bring innovative ideas to life and discover talents they never realised they had. Mike is a believer in creating high skilled, technology focused, jobs to grow both local and national economies.

Mike has more than 25 years in technology related roles, including 10 years with Microsoft working with enterprises, Independent Software Vendors and technology startups. He still spends time mentoring startups through Incubators and Startup Weekend events.
