Glenn Martin

Glenn N Martin is the inventor and entrepreneur behind the Martin Jetpack, a 30+ year project. While many of us have dreams about a personal Jetpack, only a few have actually built one! Glenn Martin was a young scientist, whom, at the age of 21 still had the dream of Jetpack. Frustrated that no one had built one yet, he’s decided to ask why. What he found was a technology that was totally unsatisfying, a flight time of 26 seconds, and a maximum pilot weight of 65 kg. As a 100+ kilogram Kiwi who wanted to fly much longer, he decided to build one that could fly hundred times longer, 100 times higher and lift twice the weight.
The story of how this happened has intrigued and baffled engineers, scientists, and aviation experts around the world. The resulting Martin Jetpack is the world’s first practical Jetpack. The Martin Aircraft Company is based in Christchurch with currently 50 staff. In 2015 Martin Aircraft floated on the Australian stock exchange with an oversubscribed IPO.
