Startup Weekend Kids Gaza 2.0

Startup Weekend Kids Gaza 0.2:
Startup Weekend is back to Gaza with its second-time kids themed. Startup Weekend Kids Gaza 2.0 is the event where your kids can learn more about entrepreneurship and business and where they can share their creative ideas. Your Kids' ideas are invaluable and worth to be heard and Startup Weekend is the place where they will pitch it out loud. 

So, What is Startup Weekend Kids Gaza 0.2?
It is a 54-hour event over 3 days of the weekend. Where aspiring kidpreneurs aged 10-15 come together to share their creative ideas, form teams, create prototypes, and launch startups. It’s more like an intensive camp where they can learn more about entrepreneurship and business also it is the place that lets them experience what it’s really like to build a startup with your own great idea.

Safa Nasr
Child Protection Director- UNICEF

Dr. Safa Nasr is the Child Protection Officer, based in UNICEF Gaza office since 2010. She is responsible for managing Gaza child protection programs, including community based child protection and emergency preparedness. She is also leading the child protection systems building work in Gaza, which entails developing and strengthening standards and protocols, building implementation capacities of service providers and integration of child protection in higher education curriculum. Previously, Safa worked as a program manager with both Mercy Corps and Islamic Relief.  Safa holds a PhD degree in Public Health from Birmingham University, UK.


Rafat Abushaban
Director of Startup Grind Gaza

A mentor and speaker, Rafat is the founder of Riable, Startup Palestine, Director of Startup Grind Gaza, and advisory board member of Startup Accelerator SXSW.
He holds a UK Business Masters’ degree and lectures on Crowdfunding, E-Business, Entrepreneurship, and is an author of multiple research and industry-focused papers and articles. He is also Palestine Coordinator the British Chartered Institute of Technology.



Abdelrahman Hawajri
Analyst programmer at UNRWA Gaza.

Abdelrahman Hawajri Analyst programmer at UNRWA Gaza. Abdelrahman is an Analyst programmer in UNRWA, Cofounder and web development manager of Access line for information technology. A senior programmer with more than 12 years of successful experience in the software industry with a proven ability to lead and contribute. He was involved in implementation of process across the organization. Participated in many projects in different local and international organizations. An excellent communicator with trouble shooting and decision making skills as a senior programmer, database administrator, consultant, trainer and team leader.

Nada Mattar
CEO-Founder of Palbabak

Nada graduated from "Mini-MBA" with excellence degree. Also, she has a bachelor degree from the Faculty of Engineering.  She is a leader of entrepreneurship project that got several local and international awards. She provided several training sessions in business administration.


Mohammad ALDardasawy
Assisstant Coordinator/Technical Support

Mohammed graduated from AUG - IT College - Department of Computer Science. He has been working at the Child Center-Gaza, A.M Qattan Foundation since 2010 as IT-Assistant Coordinator. He he has wide experience in IT field & Training for children& parents.


Ghassan AbuLibda
Performing Arts Coordinator at the Child Center

Ghassan graduated from Faculty of Media and Mass Communication - Radio & TV Al-Aqsa University - Gaza. He works as a Performing Arts Coordinator at the Child Center – Gaza, A.M. Qattan Foundation since 2007. He is specialized in Drama & cultural activities.


Ola Elshaer
Assistant Manager

Ola has MBA, and BA in teaching Science. She worked as a kids teacher. Then, she worked as a Manager Assistant at Educational institution. She was mentor and organizer at two bootcamps for children. She volunteered at Startup Weekend Gaza 5.0 for entrepreneurship. 


Amal AbuMoailqe
Project Manager

Amal is the co-founder of the Sketch Engineering, Ltd company which is introducing Engineering solutions to solve mechanical problems in Gaza Strip community. She is a mechatronics engineer, and a fan of technology, design, entrepreneurship and photography. She is interested in innovation, religions, culture and traditions exchange.


Batoul Ismail
Mechatronics Engineer - Activator

Batoul holds a bachelor degree of Mechatronics Engineering from AUG & currently works as an activator at the IT unit -Child Centre–Gaza, A.M.Qattan Foundation. She worked for ACT Medical ltd company. She participated in Gaza startup Bootcamp 2016.


Tareq Abu Mariam
IT Unit Trainer

Tareq holds a bachelor degree of Mechatronics Engineering from AUG and currently works as a IT unit trainer at the Child Centre – Gaza, A.M. Qattan Foundation. Tareq is responsible of planning and conducting activities with children and young adults.


Mohammed AbuLaila
Project Coordinator

Mohammed graduated from the Faculty of Engineering - Department of communication engineering. He has worked with children for about 1 year. Now, he works as a Project Coordinator where he encourages reading and e-reading habits among children.


Assef Al-Khozondar
Library Services Coordinator Assistant

Assef graduated from the Faculty of Engineering - Department of Computer and Software. Assef trained children in information technology fields for 5 years. Now, he works as Library Services Coordinator Assistant at Child Centre providing STEM programs.


Mohammed Eldadah
Software Engineer

Mohammed is a senior software engineer with 4+ years of experience.
Bachelor of computer engineering from the IUGaza and worked as a teaching assistant
Experienced in Node Js & Python programming languages, with great knowledge in Go & Android



Saleem Shublaq
Lecturer, Android Developer

Saleem is a BSc & Msc holder in IT field from IUG, Trainer at many NGO'S, Android Developer at Altibbi Company for 2 years, Certified by Google as Associate Android Developer, Lecturer at IUG since 2013, Researcher & technical assistant for ROMOR project, and he got a mobility opportunity with TU Wien University in Digital Preservation & Data Management Fields.


Sally AbuShabaan
Kids Activator

Sally graduated from faculty of science, department of medical technology. She have worked with children about 4 years. She teaches biology by using Interactive learning techniques. Now she is working as activator in laboratory. 


Samah Al-khatib
Supervisor of Children-Friend Community Center

Samah is a kids trainer. She is interested in the field of childhood and their issues. Since 2010, she has worked as a facilitator and trainer in children space in several fields for example: creative writing and creative thinking, adventurous and Scenarist. A participant in all forums that care about children and their rights specially in Palestine. 


Nisreen Alshawa

Nisreen fayez Alshawa, Palestinian from Gaza ,,free spirit & mind. Laugh and enjoy each moment in my life work to help children& woman and Draw SMILES in faces. I believe that the youth are leader for now and future, I'm working at GUCC ( youth are future) , I reward many wards like the best volunteer since 2011. I believe that the social media is the best tools to express our ideas and issues as youth.

Consultant & Trainer

I am a management & finance specialist, working as business and entrepreneurship instructor for more than 15 years. I am a PeaceStartup ambassador for Palestine; I am facilitator and organizer of Startup Weekend, a member of WSA Palestine judgment panel, and entrepreneurship trainer certified by Cisco. In addition, I am Founder of Beacon Business -Marketing Agency- and Co-Founder of 1plus1, I have a solid background in NGOs referring to my experience with PNINA and other ones. In addition, Intensive work ability in different administrative and accounting functions, I was in charge of managing financial and administrative matters throughout my occupational life, also, I am working as a Technical Instructor at UNRWA. Moreover, I am a fundraising consultant. In past, I was a Team Leader of ICT Team Start program with Mercy Corps, and teacher in Accounting Department at University College of Applied Science (UCAS); also, I have worked as a marketer & accountant at many other NGOs. I have received my certificate of Arabic Certified Public Accountants (ACPA). In addition, I hold a master degree in Finance and Accounting.
