Do you have an idea you'd like to pursue or a problem you'd like to solve but don't know where to start or who to start with?

Techstars Startup Weekend is the place to look for a team, create a prototype of your idea, validate your business idea, and receive feedback from experienced entrepreneurs, all in one weekend.

What do you need to bring?

Lots of energy! You'll pitch your own idea or listen to others, then vote on the most interesting ideas and form teams with diverse skill sets. You can come with friends, but you’ll get the full experience if you participate in separate teams. Remember, it’s all about the team.

Your idea should be something you have not previously worked on. The idea you pitch and the problem you set out to solve can span social, educational, financial, environmental, or other issues. Over the course of the weekend you'll be challenged to create a prototype of your MVP, or minimum viable product, that fits the needs of your target customer. You'll get feedback, iterate, and likely pivot your approach entirely! Important: You cannot have worked previously on your idea.

Techstars Startup Weekend is a full weekend long experience. Your ticket includes:

Fro Oliva
Consultant for Digital Strategy, PLDT Global Corp.

Fro is the Consultant for Digital Strategy at PLDT Global Corp, as well as the Head of Growth for Mediacom Solutions. He is also a mentor and enabler for the startup community, following his experience as the former Head of Business Development and Community Partnerships at PLDT Enterprise.

Patch Dulay
co-founder, The Spark Project

A Social Tech Innovator with a passion for emerging web technologies used for social good. He graduated at the Ateneo de Manila University, BS Management Information Systems in 2005. He took up a Global E-Business master's degree at the University of Lille, France in 2010; worked for a Paris-based online startup; then went back to Manila to start The Spark Project, an award winning crowdfunding website for Filipino innovators and change makers. He is a part-time lecturer at the Ateneo Computer Science and Infomation Systems department. He designs websites and helps fellow startups when he can.

MJ Panganiban
General Manager at Dragonpay, Corp.

MJ is the General Manager at Dragonpay, Corp., the pioneer and the leading alternative payment solutions provider in the Philippines. Concurrently, he is the Chairman of the E-Commerce Committee of the Fintech Philippines Association, an inclusive financial trade organization in the Philippines and also an Industry Ambassador to the Digital Commerce Association of the Philippines, a non-profit, non-stock organization founded by the key players in the digital commerce industry in the Philippines, commonly known as DCOM.

With the Philippine E-Commerce Roadmap 2020 in place, he's actively involved in various e-commerce conversion activities with different clientéle. From micro, small and medium enterprises or MSMEs to large entities. I am also active in various conferences both local and abroad, to serve as delegate, presenter, panel moderator and even forum chairman. In addition, he's worked as a consultant, mentor, and a member of a technical working groups with various projects with agencies like the country's Department Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Tourism (DOT), Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC), and Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (Go Negosyo), to name a few, to assist and deal with entrepreneurial developments among businesses through e-commerce.

EJ Arboleda
CEO of Taxumo

EJ is the CEO of Taxumo, a web application that makes tax compliance easy and painless for small business owners and professionals. Taxumo is an award-winning GovTech startup that has been instrumental in the adoption of new technology by the BIR and was the first startup to be part of the Board of Investment's Investment Priority Plan. EJ was formerly the Chief Technology Officer of Wunderman Manila - a digital advertising agency under the WPP group - and was a Service Manager for HP and P&G. EJ rushes home everyday to spend quality time with his wife, Ginger, and his 6 year old daughter, Zeeka.

Akhil Hemrajani
Investment Management Consultant at UBX Philippines

Akhil is currently a Consultant with Unionbank's FinTech Business Group, where he is responsible for oversight on the group's products' strategic fit with the bank. This enabled him to gain a better understanding as to what FinTech startups are the bank is engaging with. This also helped him leverage the learnings into another role that he has taken on within the bank, as he is part of the Strategic Investments team within UBX, a VC arm of Unionbank. This role has enabled him to evaluate FinTech startups from a perspective on whether they would provide value to the bank and UBX's digital transformation efforts. 
Prior to this stint, most of his experience is formed in the consulting sector with EY and KPMG. Akhil is an MBA graduate from China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), that was recently ranked number fifth in the world by the Financial Times.

Roland Ros
Founder of Kumu

Roland Ros is the Founder of Kumu Inc, a livestream social commerce and gaming app for GenZ and Millennial Filipinos.  Since launching in August 2018, the app has generated one million users from 55 different countries, and 300% quarter over quarter revenue growth.  Kumu's advisors include Dado Banatao, Lisa Gokongwei, and the founding investor/team from Grab Philippines and MyTown co-living.  Kumu's investors include Summit Media and Foxmont Capital Partners.

Prior to Kumu, Roland was an entrepreneur generating millions of customers through advertising technology in the United States. Roland studied as an Executive Scholar from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, and graduated with a BA in Asian American Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

An experienced leader in the digital commerce and retail industry. Skilled in International Fashion Buying, Business Development & E-commerce solutions selling.
She’s the first Filipina representative at Alibaba & UNCTAD’s eFounder Fellowship Program as part of the 1,000 Global Agents of Change for the New Digital Economy.
She graduated at the Asian Institute of Management with a certificate of completion for the Entrepreneurship Development Program (2017) &
The University of Santo Tomas (2010) with a degree in Business Administration Major in Marketing Management.

Abbie is the Founder and CEO of StyleGenie PH the first styling+clothing subscription box in the Philippines.
She is also the founding partner of QratedCrates Pte Ltd (Singapore), an ongoing passion project dedicated to advocating the lifestyle subscriptions economy in SouthEast Asia.
She's an efficient servant leader as substantiated in her starting career as an e-Commerce Professor at the Assumption College, San Lorenzo, Makati City.

Jacqui Romorosa
Chief Operating Officer, Qwikwire

Jacqui is the Chief Operating Officer of Qwikwire, a US registered FinTech start-up company offering global payments, billing and invoicing solutions for enterprises in SE Asia. She's leading Qwikwire's growth initiatives and oversees business operations within the company. She is also
passionate about empowering more women through skills development and financial inclusion.

Jocelyn Pantastico
Founder and CEO of Olivia

Jocs Pantastico is Founder and CEO of Olivia, a goal-based micro-investing app for women.
The company won the “She Loves Tech Philippines” startup pitch and represented the
country in the global competition.
Deeply passionate about financial inclusion thru gamification, She co-authored “Money
Quest: A New Perspective on Spending, Saving and Investing”, personal finance book
enhanced with Augmented Reality (think Pokemon, but for a book).
Jocs has vast international experience, having been based out of Singapore and Indonesia
for over 15 years. She returned to the Philippines almost two years ago to help empower
Filipino women take control of their finances.
She has an MBA from University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Angeline Viray-Macabuag
CEO of Beeparide

Angeline is the Founder and CEO of Beep a Ride, the first and largest peer-to-peer car sharing/car rental platform in the Philippines, where you can have instant car access in a beep. She founded Beep a Ride to aid in solving the country's transportation access issues and sustainable income issues for middle class citizens.She is a licensed Chemist by study (University of Santo Tomas), a User Experience (UX) Architect and Designer by profession, and a Startup Founder and Entrepreneur by choice. She is a community-builder who has a knack for idea generation 24/7 and a heart for noble causes.

Ellard Capiral
CEO of Admov Technologies Inc.

Ellard has been an IT professional with 17 years experience in software development. At a young age, he became the Founder and CTO of EDGE.MEDIA which was bought by Singtel back in 2002. While still studying in college, he joined the anti-malware company TrendMicro to
spearhead their automation projects and artificial intelligence initiatives. In 2012, he was invited to work for RealPage to lead its Philippine development team. He later then worked with a startup CloudSwyft Technologies as their Chief Technology Officer.

He is now the CEO and Founder of AdMov Technologies Inc, a smart advertising platform that
uses Location data with Facial Detection to identify a person's age, and gender to generate and
deliver personalized content and advertising

Inno Maog
Chief Marketing Officer of Qwikwire Inc.

Inno Maog is the Chief Marketing Officer of Qwikwire, a US and PH registered
FinTech start-up company offering global payments, billing and invoicing solutions for enterprises in SE Asia.
Backed by his 9 years of working experience in marketing and sales, customer service, fraud detection, and disputes resolution, he now spearheads all of Qwikwire's marketing initiatives.

With his knowledge of leadership and marketing, Inno is also an active resource speaker in the Philippine startup community.

Jojo Gumino
Co-Founder and Chief People & Partnerships Officer of Agrabah

JoJo is the Co-Founder and Chief People & Partnerships Officer of Agrabah, an award winning agritech startup helping farmers and fisherfolks by providing a steady market channel and fair profits. Agrabah has been featured on Season 3 of The Final Pitch on CNN and in articles in the BusinessMirror and Agriculture Magazine. Agrabah is currently being incubated at the Dado Banatao Incubator at the Asian Institute of Management. JoJo is an active member of the startup community, where she has in the past, headed Human Resources for Fearless Ventures Inc, and Headed Partnerships at STORM Learning. JoJo has over a decade of experience as a seasoned Human Resources & Business Professional with varied experiences across industries, cultures, and HR disciplines and has lived and worked in several countries along the way such as the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and the Philippines.

Joshua Pielago
Product and Tools Manager, UberEats APAC

Joshua has lead product management communities in the Philippines, working as the lead for Product PH and then founding Product School - Manila. He has lead the development and launching of logistics, labor, and marketing solutions in the the consumer space and small to medium enterprise. Over the years, his products have generated millions of dollars in revenue and has fueled the growth of companies worldwide, from established companies in Fortune 500 to emerging companies in the recent Inc's Fast 500. He currently works for Uber.

Kellda Centeno
Chief Operating Officer of STORM Technologies

Kellda Centeno is the Chief Operating Officer of STORM Technologies, the country’s leading
Flexible Benefits provider. She is a business generalist and start-up entrepreneur with experience
in HR technology, e-commerce, food retail and FMCG. She loves bridging the strategy-delivery gap
and building teams that make things happen.
Over the past few years, Kellda has propelled STORM’s growth by delivering strategy across
the different functions including product, e-commerce operations, people operations, sales and
technology. She believes that systems are composed of people, process, platforms and
metrics. During her tenure, STORM represented the Philippines in the Start-up World Cup in
Kellda’s earlier career was focused on brick-and-mortar businesses, particularly in marketing
and sales for a multinational FMCG and her own restaurant franchising business. She made the
jump to tech in 2015 after exiting the food business.
She is also an underwater photographer who believes sharks are misunderstood.

Martin Luchangco
Head, Grab for Business PH

Martin Luchangco is the head of Grab for Business (GfB) Philippines, which develops and manages all of Grab’s business-to-business (B2B) solutions.  Among other things, GfB enables companies to set up corporate accounts and manage how their employees utilize Grab's services for business purposes.  
Martin started out his career in the Financial Services industry, working at Philam Life - AIA, and at Bank of the Philippine Islands, in various roles in Marketing, Product Development, Business Development and Channel Management.  Afterwhich, he founded Fetch Valet, a tech start-up that provides on-demand valet parking services, before finally finding his home at Grab.
He is a graduate of Ateneo de Manila University, with a bachelor degree in Management Engineering and a minor in Financial Analysis.  He is also a start-up enthusiast, and dad of two boys.

Vince Hermosura

At a young age, Vince was able to step in the international scene as one of the few young Filipino malware analysts. He publishes malware reports accessible in countries like USA, China, Japan, Taiwan, and other countries. In the path towards entrepreneurship, Vince used his analytical skills in understanding the concept of the Stock Market and combined it with his knowledge in programming to innovate (together with his colleagues) into a financial technology company which is now one of the strongest brands in the Philippines Stock Market helps more than 95,000 investors in finding the Philippines’ best stocks by providing automated data and expert guidance thru newsletter. Vince is also a professional speaker on the topic of leadership, programming, stock market, and personal finance where he was able to deliver talks to different universities and organization across the country. He hasalso appeared in various radio and media publications such as Entrepreneur Philippines, e27, MoneySense Magazine, Real Finance People by RFP. Vince also owns a digital agency focused on website and mobile app development for premium clients based in different international countries such as Philippines, Switzerland, Singapore, and Australia.

Startup Coach and Co-founder of Brainsparks Philippines

Artie Lopez is a start-up coach, the Ambassador of Seedstars - Manila, VP of First Asia Venture Capital and co-founder of Brainsparks, the first and only "founder-focused" incubator in the Philippines. Brainsparks’ vision is to "Turn Dreamers into Founders".
