About Startup Weekend: Startup Weekends are 54-hour events designed to provide superior experiential education for technical and non-technical entrepreneurs. Beginning with Friday night pitches and continuing through brainstorming, business plan development, and basic prototype creation, Startup Weekends culminate in Sunday night demos and presentations. Participants create working startups during the event and are able to collaborate with like-minded individuals outside of their daily networks. All teams hear talks by industry leaders and receive valuable feedback from local entrepreneurials. The weekend is centered around action, innovation, and education. Whether you are looking for feedback on a idea, a co-founder, specific skill sets, or a team to help you execute, Startup Weekends are the perfect environment in which to test your idea and take the first steps towards launching your own startup.
Terms of Participation Agreement: It is our job to provide you with an incredible networking and learning opportunity. Our intention is that you meet some amazing people that you might actually start a company with, build relationships with coaches, and learn from your peers. The event is intended to be a collaborative forum for sharing, learning, building, and having fun. As such, by registering as a participant, you acknowledge that any ideas shared by you or anyone else over the course of the event are contributions to the overall experience and community. If you as a participant are worried about someone stealing your ideas, please reconsider your participation in the event itself or simply refrain from sharing specifics about your idea.As a member of your startup community, you agree to to be inclusive of any and all people and their ideas. Event Judges

Jan Rudziński

Business strategist at Deloitte Consulting. He is specialized in brand strategy, innovations development, stretching businesses into new categories and trend cultural & market analysis. Jan is responsible for building long-term business strategy for key brands in Poland and abroad. His work was appreciated twice with the „Probably the best in Carlsberg Group” reward and his communication campaigns achieved the title of „Blogosphere Brand” on Blogforum Gdańsk. His ideas for business initiatives were also rewarded during Warsaw Start-up Weekend. 

Szymon Ciupa

Smart City and GIS Expert. He has over 11 years of experience in supporting local governments in implementing smart technologies. Specializes in: Smart City Strategy, implementing ISO37120, analysis of city performance and urban geographical information systems. He has implemented projects in the field of smart city, GIS, e-government and analysis and visualization of data for: Kielce (winner of many prestigious awards for the GIS, including the award at the Smart City Expo in Barcelona), Gliwice, Dabrowa Gornicza, Opole, Toruń, Urban City Lab in Łódź and Poznań Metropolis. He is an author of scientific publications and articles about Smart City and GIS(Studia Komitetu Przestrzennego Zagospodarowania Kraju PAN, The GIS Professional (USA), Przegląd Komunalny, Urbanista, Inteligentne Miasta i Regiony). He lectures at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and runs a blog about smart cities in Poland:

Szymon Mazurkiewicz
Director at Kielce Technology Park

Szymon Mazurkiewicz - is graduated in Economics from the University of Economics in Cracow and numerous postgraduate studies, among others from the University of Austin in Texas (IC2 Institute), where he received a title of accredited specialist in knowledge commercialization and new technologies Before Poland’s accession to the European Union he completed his postgraduate studies in European Integration at the Academy of Economics in Cracow, (now the University of Economics). He is a co-author of many system solutions within a scope of functioning of parks and incubators of technology, projects of economic activation and entrepreneurship. In the current period of the E.U. programming he performs a function of an expert of the Ministry of Regional Development in the field of indirect support of enterprises (among others incubators of enterprises, clasters, transfer of knowledge, parks of industry and technology, and parks science and technology). He is an active member of the Section of Parks and Incubators of Technology of the Society of Organizers of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centers in Poland. In 2009 he received the 1st award in the 2009 Euroleader Competition organized by the Minister of Regional Development. Since April 2008 he has been Director of the Kielce Technology Park.

Coaches and Mentors

Dominika Janicka

She studied architecture at the Gdansk University of Technology and at the Institut Supérieur d'Architecture La Cambre in Brussels. She worked as an architect in design offices in Poland, Belgium, Germany and China. She successfully participated in many architectural competitions. Curator and originator of the idea of "Fair Building", which represented Poland at the 15th Biennale of Architecture in Venice. He co-creates the AD12studio design collective (@ ad12arch), with whom she has managed to realize several well-known and award-winning projects. City Trasfomers in Gdynia and Bus with Us. Since 2014 he has been co-coordinating the Public Space Workshops at the Institute of Design in Kielce (@idkielce).

Konrad Gawłowski
Investment Manager in the SATUS Funds Group

Konrad Gawlowski is an Investment Manager in the SATUS Funds Group. In his adventure with the world of startups he has worked with over 200 projects, which allowed him to specialize in SaaS and E-marketing. He has his own portfolio of companies, where as a member of the Supervisory Boards he advises business and how to optimize the operating costs. Private he is a football fan and Mediterranean cuisine.

Piotr Kreft
Head of E-commerce Fashion Group

With 11+ years of experience in Digital, Piotr is an international expert in e-commerce and omnichannel management for online and bricks & mortar retail. Over the past years he’s been part of Top Management in Groupon Poland, where he was responsible for the transformation from start-up stage to a fully established online goods platform and development of highly effective sales teams. He’s pioneered the first European e-commerce platform for an outlet shopping center at Fashion House in Moscow and has co-founded start-ups within consulting, health-tech, education and m-commerce sectors. Piotr is also leading Omnichannel Retail program at The Heart Warsaw – an international hub for corporate-startup collaboration is a mentor at InnoEnergy community. Piotr graduated from Hogeschool INHOLLAND in Amsterdam in International Business Management and holds an Executive MBA degree from Rotterdam School of Management at Erasmus University. Piotr is often invited as an expert speaker to numerous e-commerce, IoT and innovation events in London, Moscow, Warsaw, and San Francisco.

Michał Gdak

He graduated from TU Delft in the Netherlands, Vitus Bering in Denmark and Wroclaw University of Technology. He also studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław and Valencia. He participated in many outdoor events, exhibitions and workshops. He led groups of students at design workshops as well as during academic classes. He worked at OMA and Inter.National.Design in Rotterdam and Studio Arne Quinze in Belgium. He is the winner of many competitions in architecture and art. Since 2013 he has been contributing to the Public Space Laboratory of the Institute of Design in Kielce. He is a member of the curatorial team who represented Poland at the 16th Biennale of Architecture in Venice.

Magdalena Miernik
Lawyer / Founder in

Founder of the first service of intellectual property law for creative people - and the company providing consulting and legal business for the creative industry and startups ( Lawyer dealing with everyday issues in the field of intellectual property rights, a graduate of postgraduate studies at the Hugo Grotius Centre for Intellectual Property Rights  in Krakow. Mentor for startups and young entrepreneurs, trainer and author of numerous publications in the field of intellectual property rights. Member of Youth Business Poland and YPIN - Young Polish International Network. Promoter knowledge of intellectual property rights. 

Michał Galubiński
Co-Founder at VKNGS

Specialist and expert specializing in the deployment and analysis of UI / UX solutions for native and web applications. For 20 years working for the biggest brands, but also helping to launch new initiatives. Designer, especially interfaces - bridges between the user and the product or service. Currently co-owner of VKNGS (, creator of the concept of and application development in the Ministry of Digitization and Ministry of Development.

Adam Zajdzik
Co-founder @ Kekemeke

ill gotten, ill-spent

Adam was involved in programming in, creating products in Gadu-Gadu and in Agora. A few years ago, he created a Kekemeke app which, with the principle of "ill gotten, ill-spent", gave away free burgers and beer worth over 3 million zlotys. Currently he is building Icebreaker

Radek Szczygieł
Freelance UX/UI&Graphic Designer

Różnica pomiędzy pracą a pasją u niego nie istnieje. Od lat tworzy marki, produkty, witryny. Wizerunek, TEDxKazimierz, rozwiązania e-learningowe dla Doktora Mateusza Grzesiaka, język wizualno-interaktywny Modular Interface czy szkolenia dla przeszło już setek osób - to ledwie kilka z licznych osiągnięć Product Designera, Radka Szczygła. Obecnie współtworzy pierwszą na świecie muzyczną aplikację dla dzieci i rodziców – Pomelody, która już wkrótce ma podbić serca rodzin na całym świecie.

Karol Wątrobiński
Co-founder at

Lawyer in the Bukowski and Partners. Co-founder of the site around Wokół Prawa Własności Intelektualnej, where are discussed, among others, legal aspects of innovative projects. He specializes in new technologies, copyright and e-commerce.
He advises to startups on legal issues at all stages of business, from the start of the first work on the project until the introduction of the product or service to market. He takes care of issues related to protection of the business idea and regulation rules of founders cooperation. He prepares and negotiates agreements relating to copyright, trademarks and patents, as well as advise on the management of intellectual property in technology companies.

Aneta Nasternak

Aneta is an expert on revitalization and urban development. She is currently coordinating a project in Starachowice within the framework of the Cities Model Revitalization conducted by the Ministry of Development. She is also involved in the revitalization of cities in Moldova within the framework of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Polish Help. She conducts trainings and lectures on urban development, smart city, entrepreneurship and education.

Since 2010 she is also active in non-governmental organizations where he is responsible for coordinating transnational projects and for creating and initiating strategic partnerships between business, schools, universities and entrepreneurs for project implementation. He is also the originator of the series of debates on the "Theses on Europe".

Andrzej Brzozowy

Advisor in the field of urban policy and revitalization. For several years in the Ministry of Regional Development, currently the owner of the City Projects advisory company. Co-author of the National Urban Policy 2023, system of support for revitalization, national strategic documents, regional policy, reports and programs. Member of the Team for Urban and Metropolitan Areas as part of the KPZK PAN. He is interested in effective methods of city management and new technologies.
He plays AoE III and CS: GO. Talker. He likes pears.

Maciej Balasinski

Maciej Balasiński from several years leads his sofware-house, engaged in the production of mobile and web applications and also analytical solutions of Internet of things. In addition, he also manages programming teams producing enterprise-class software, so as he believes: it is in a better position to understand the needs of a large business.
Currently he is leading his own team for dutch Software house.

Active participant in the development of the mobile industry in the country and enthusiast of new technologies. His aim is to educate and providing the latest IT solutions.

He is the Ambassador of the Startup Poland Foundation in Kielce, which aims to coordinate the local ecosystem of startups. It supports the interesting initiatives that contribute to the development of the region.
