Your idea turned into a business in less than 54 hours

Startup Weekend Cluj is back!
And this time with an edition dedicated to women entrepreneurs ❤️

This is your chance to collaborate and get involved with a group of motivated like-minded women and allies, who are hell-bent on disrupting their industry of choice. The event is aimed at female participants, however, men are welcome to participate!

What’s different about this event?
Techstars Global Startup Weekend Cluj Women's Edition is designed to engage more entrepreneurs and provide them with the necessary resources for long-term success. The weekend will be focused on empowering more women within our community to lend their voice to innovation.

The innovation ecosystem has never been more exciting than it is right now.

It is our time to RUN the world!
We would like to involve more women in the startup world. We have seen the barriers faced by women in tech. As women still don't fill enough important roles in tech industry, we aim to grow a wholly inclusive community.

👩‍💼  Women hold under a quarter (24%) of senior roles across the world and 5.2% of CEO positions at S&P 500 Companies.
⚖️ Women account for 50% of the world’s working-age population - but are largely misrepresented.
👩‍💼  Women hold just 5.2% of CEO positions at S&P 500 Companies.
💰 Closing the wage gap for women would add $28 trillion to global GDP.
📈 McKinsey's research shows that gender-diverse companies are 15% more likely to outperform their peers and ethnically-diverse companies are 35% more likely to do the same.

How it works
Beginning with Friday night, women pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams organically form around the top ideas followed by a 54-hour of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. Startup Weekends culminate in Sunday night demos and presentations with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders providing another opportunity for critical feedback before a final winning team is chosen.

Do you have an idea you'd like to pursue or a problem you'd like to solve but don't know where to start or who to start with?   Techstars Global Startup Weekend Women is the place to look for a team, create a prototype of your idea, validate your business idea, and receive feedback from experienced entrepreneurs, all in one weekend.

What do you need to bring?

Lots of energy! You'll pitch your own idea or listen to others, then vote on the most interesting ideas and form teams with diverse skill sets. You can come with friends, but you’ll get the full experience if you participate in separate teams. Remember, it’s all about the team.   Your idea should be something you have not previously worked on. The idea you pitch and the problem you set out to solve can span social, educational, financial, environmental, or other issues. Over the course of the weekend you'll be challenged to create a prototype of your MVP, or minimum viable product, that fits the needs of your target customer. You'll get feedback, iterate, and likely pivot your approach entirely! Important: You cannot have worked previously on your idea.

Techstars Global Startup Weekend Woman is a full weekend long experience.
Your ticket includes:

  • 7 full (and delicious) meals over the course of the weekend
  • Benefits and discounts from our global partners
  • One-on-one time with amazing mentors
  • A new network of developers, designers, and entrepreneurs eager, like you, to change the world.
  • All the internet and coffee you can consume.
