Do you have an idea you'd like to pursue or a problem you'd like to solve but don't know where to start or who to start with?
  Techstars Startup Weekend is the place to look for a team, create a prototype of your idea, validate your business idea, and receive feedback from experienced entrepreneurs, all in one weekend.   What do you need to bring?   Lots of energy! You'll pitch your own idea or listen to others, then vote on the most interesting ideas and form teams with diverse skill sets. You can come with friends, but you’ll get the full experience if you participate in separate teams. Remember, it’s all about the team.   Your idea should be something you have not previously worked on. The idea you pitch and the problem you set out to solve can span social, educational, financial, environmental, or other issues. Over the course of the weekend you'll be challenged to create a prototype of your MVP, or minimum viable product, that fits the needs of your target customer. You'll get feedback, iterate, and likely pivot your approach entirely! Important: You cannot have worked previously on your idea.   Techstars Startup Weekend is a full weekend long experience. Your ticket includes:

Horia Cardos
CEO & Founder Agroland

Horia Cardos is one of the most famous romanian antrepreneurs known for founding and developing his business, Agroland. Horia grew a healthy business, starting from the idea that each romanian is entitled to healthy food obtained in a sustainable way from the small local farms. He is a curious type who believes in the power of innovation and challenging the status quo. With a strong belief in programs that bring solutions for the future of agriculture in Romania and globally, Horia supports programs like AgTech. Agroland is the biggest network of agriculture stores in Romania and the biggest company in Romania that comercializes products for the local farmers. During the past few years, the variety of products strongly increased. In addition to products designated for farms, Agroland sells also equipment for gardening and pets.

Last year, the 250 Agroland stores network reached a number of over 2.200.000 clients.


Dalibor Vasiljevic
Founder & Brand Strategy Director @ Rainfall

Dalibor Vasiljević, Founder & Brand Strategy Director - Rainfall, moved from Serbia to Romania in 2000, and since then he has been very active in the marketing industry. After founding Rainfall in 2004 he concentrated on developing coherent brands from every point of view. For the last two years, he has also become a design thinking facilitator, encouraging entrepreneurs to learn more about the service design, so he’s ready to share some professional tricks with us.

I am a young entrepreneur with a genuine curiosity in technology. PR at heart, I am constantly looking for promising startups that wish to share their stories with action-driven audiences. My belief in the power of the community is channeled towards Banat IT. 


Ionut Tarcea
Organizational culture, innovation & marketing professional

Ionut Tarcea is a Business Unit Manager of Organizational Culture. He has 20 years experience in marketing and since 2007 he is an entrepreneur and consultant.
In the past, Ionut has been involved in one of the most active and demanding telecommunications fields. He was one of the youngest marketing directors in the country, working for the telecom giant RCS & RDS (DIGI). Ionut is one of the founders of the innovative marketing concept - "de Hartie" - a creative channel of brand-consumer interactivity. In addition, his passion for bicycles came to fruition over time and Ionut became one of the initiators of the Biciclop store.
Since 2007, since joining the Ascendis team, Ionut has been involved in over 400 organizational development projects: diagnosis and culture change, strategic planning, innovation, training and work seminars, specially created according to client challenges. He has experience working with various management and operational teams in IT&C, financial system, energy, retail and pharmaceutical industry.
Ionut is convinced that if you do good, you receive good. Therefore, he is heavily involved in civic activities, supporting through training and counseling non-profit organizations, universities and entrepreneurs. He strongly believes that life is the result of our ambitions and determination.
Ionut graduated from the Academy of Economic Studies, the Faculty of International Economic Relations and the Executive MBA at WU Vienna University.


Cornel Amariei
CEO & Founder @ Lumen

 Cornel Amariei is a Romanian born inventor, author and entrepreneur, known as the CEO and founder of .lumen, a company creating glasses that help the visually impaired navigate. Previously, he was Head of Innovation at Continental Automotive, leading projects in the direction of smart sensorics, electric mobility, advanced communication and autonomous driving. For his work, Cornel was recognised as a standout member in the first Forbes 30 under 30 Europe, and as the first Romanian to win the Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World award, by JCI, previously won by people such as J.F. Kennedy or Elvis Presley.


Daniel Andor
Freelance Product Designer (UX/UI) & Design Sprint Facilitator

Daniel is a self-taught digital product designer, currently working as a freelancer. His career has enabled him to work with various companies, ranging from early-stage startups to those with a massive consumer base, as well as enterprise companies - both B2C and B2B. Throughout his experience as a designer, Daniel has collaborated with product managers, developers and marketing people on creating new digital products from scratch, innovating through the addition of new features or improving existing solutions, and serving as a consultant for every aspect of the product design ecosystem.


Vlad Stanciu
CEO @ ROSENC Cluster

Vlad coordinated and implemented sustainability projects for over 7 years as the Executive Director of the Romanian Sustainable Energy Cluster, an organization of more than 90 members specialised in the fields of renewable energy, biomass, energy efficiency and the sustainable energy fields.

He is also Co-Founder at Eco Living project and the local chapter responsible at InnoLabs Timisoara.

I'm passionate about people and their needs. On one side this got me to the point where I evangelize about the Romanian startup ecosystem. I work with Rubik Hub to build and connect regional startup communities and more closely with a handful of startups in Bucharest to help on their growth. On the other side I'm involved within an NGO that's active in the social service's field.
