It is the most accessible, low risk and effective environment for meeting your co-founders, building teams, validating ideas, and learning the first steps to launching a business through experiential education. We try to channeling the participants passion for a particular problem/solution and use that energy to get them to follow a process that will create solid execution.

Josef Dunne
Co-Founder/CEO @ Babelverse

Josef is Founder & CEO of Babelverse (which aims to bring seamless communication between all languages) a startup that began at a Startup Weekend Athens in December 2010 and changed his life forever! Since then Startup Chile, 500 Startups and SV Angel invested in Babelverse. Today, Josef is currently based in London, which is also his hometown but has lived and visited many countries over the past 5 years including Greece, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Poland, San Francisco, New York, Japan, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, South Korea, Singapore, and recently Romania where he took his team to live and work for 1 month in a Transylvanian village, throughout this travelling he was growing the community of linguists and raising awareness of Babelverse and acquiring a lot of knowledge about starting up abroad and the differences between cultures.

Before Babelverse, he was a Web Developer working in a corporate environment for 5 years. He can assist you from business strategy, going global to web development and more.

Alan O’Herlihy
CEO and Founder at Everseen

Alan O’Herlihy is an entrepreneur with business interests in Europe, US, Latin America, the Middle East and Asia.
He is currently CEO of Everseen, the company he founded in 2008 which is a rapidly growing international high tech company working in the areas of Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things.
Alan completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1996 from University College Cork in Ireland and completed a H.D. in Applied Science in 1997 at the same university.
He is very active in sports person, participating in Thai Boxing and Football, regularly.


Coaches and Mentors


Alexandru Roja

Alexandru is a PhD in Management and Lecturer in various startup-core subjects such as strategic management, business administration, strategic analysis, enterprise development strategies, managerial and entrepreneurial simulations at West University of Timișoara.
Not anyone gets to be as easy-going in matters of business without deeply knowing it first. Thus, Alexandru has done various research on innovative and entrepreneurial potential in the IT industry and the development of strategic organizational capabilities to cope with the complexity of the current business environment.
Moreover, he is the developer of Envisioning project analyzing the relationships between economy, technology and society for a smart strategic development, anticipation and understanding of the main global trends.


Stephanie Mitchell

Canadian digital expert living in Rome, with great startup experience. She worked as Marketing Director for 2 startups that had multi-million exits. Stephanie enjoys working with early stage startups to help them craft their value proposition.

Guido Giordano
Head of Mentorship at TIM#WCAP Accelerator

Guido has launched and managed 3 accelerators in his career, helping to form the structure of the programs and lead more than 100 startups to success. He’s also been an angel investor in several businesses. Currently head of Venture Initiatives at Tree, he is also the mentor in residence at TIM#Wcap Accelerator in Rome, TIM’s corporate accelerator, and is a mentor at StartupBootcamp Foodtech in Rome. Guido got involved with accelerators during university when he was selected to be part of the founding team of LuissEnlabs, while completing his master’s in entrepreurship. After LuissEnlabs, he moved to Canada where he was responsible for creating and launching the Mercury Grove Accelerator program. The accelerator program at Mercury Grove can be considered one of the most successful accelerator programs in the world, with an average growth of the companies, on their key metrics, of 14% per week over a 4 month period. Mercury Grove had its first exit in less than a year.


Otilia Otlacan
International advertising consultant for reddit inc

Otilia specializes in web monetization, advertising operations and tech PR. She is the founder of RightFit Media, an ad tech boutique consulting firm. Previous employers include Google, Facebook, reddit, as well as digital music and gaming startups.


Calin Brandabur
CEO and Founder Casa-Automata.com

Entrepreneur, maker, engineer, inventor, senior software architect, software development workflow analyst with over 15 years experience in software industry, working with several fortune 500 companies, bootstrapped several start ups all over the world mainly United States of America.

Dwight Gunning

Dwight is an Australian software engineer and entrepreneur, currently based in The Netherlands. After a successful career as a technology consultant he shifted focus toward consumer tech products and startups. He has both founded and worked as an early employee at several startups, experiencing many highs and lows along the way. His latest project is a website publishing service called Knownly

 

Since participating and becoming hooked at his first Startup Weekend in 2010, Dwight has been involved with over twenty events across 4 continents.
