Do you have an idea you'd like to pursue or a problem you'd like to solve but don't know where to start or who to start with?   Techstars Startup Weekend is the place to look for a team, create a prototype of your idea, validate your business idea, and receive feedback from experienced entrepreneurs, all in one weekend.   What do you need to bring?   Lots of energy! You'll pitch your own idea or listen to others, then vote on the most interesting ideas and form teams with diverse skill sets. You can come with friends, but you’ll get the full experience if you participate in separate teams. Remember, it’s all about the team.   Your idea should be something you have not previously worked on. The idea you pitch and the problem you set out to solve can span social, educational, financial, environmental, or other issues. Over the course of the weekend you'll be challenged to create a prototype of your MVP, or minimum viable product, that fits the needs of your target customer. You'll get feedback, iterate, and likely pivot your approach entirely! Important: You cannot have worked previously on your idea.   Techstars Startup Weekend is a full weekend long experience. Your ticket includes:

Begin Work
Start to formalize teams and take an inventory of skills. Be honest, and direct about what resources and skills are needed for the weekend. You may stay and work as late as the venue will allow

Ivana Todorović
COO @ Balkaneum

Ivana has several years of experience as a COO and someone in charge in finances, especially in IT and blockchain sectors. She loves management economy, product management, and is devoted to designing products that bring additional value to customers. 

Sreten Vranić
Product Manager @ Erste Bank

Sreten Vranic is an expert in product management. He has joined Erste Bank 2014. In addition to his primary job, he was hired as a mentor on the Superstep program (specific loans for start-ups). He is also the program leader for financial, educational and mentoring support to start up businesses and social enterprises. During his business career, he started two business of his own. He worked in the United States for several years and in China on international trade activities. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics in Subotica. In 2015, Sreten gained expertise in managing the organisational changes and life cycles of enterprises in the Adizes Institute.

Oskar Marko
Researcher @ BioSense Institute

Oskar is a researcher at BioSense Institute in Novi Sad where he applies AI and Big Data in agriculture. He has experience in managing H2020 projects and is currently a lead on a project financed by Bill and Melinda Gates which focuses on applying smart technology in agriculture in Africa. 

Coaches and Mentors

Agnes Asodi
Resource Manager / Project Manager at Canic Interactive LLC

Focused, curious, fast learning, and positive. Project Manager with tons of recommendations, currently working for Canic Interactive LLC. Very experienced, and community oriented.

Ivan Štefanić
Professor @ UNIOS & Director @ TERA TEHNOPOLIS Ltd.

Ivan is the author of the concept of 'Inovativno3 poduzetništvo' and a specialist in technology transfers and IP. He takes special pride in his students who won many cash prizes on international competitions under his mentor ship.

Dunja Radulov
Marketing and Growth Consultant, Program Manager @ Women in IT

Dunja is an expert in marketing and business development, editor and writer. She is also a content creator, strategy developer, marketing and analysis, mentoring and volunteering.   

Aleksandar Sabo
Owner @ MP Solutions

Aleksandar has been a programmer for almost 15 years. He is the founder of MP Solutions and CodeTailor where he actively tries to raise the general knowledge in the programming community.

Christoph Berndt
Partner in KP Advisory, Founder & Managing Partner of Strategy Map

Christoph has more than 13 years of experience in finance and management as CEO, CFO, CRO and financial advisor to international companies across industries. Christoph currently advises several startups in Serbia and the region on topics related to business planning, financing and fund raising; he also mentors startups in various programs on investment readiness and VC approach.

Anita Mat
Chief Operations Officer @ Infora

Anita is working in the IT industry since 2005. Although her job title is Project Manager, she leads INFORA, a Novi Sad based startup, together with its founder Nebojša Gvozdenović, and is involved in every segment of business and product development. She know what bootstrapping and pitching really means especially if you are a Serbian based company. Anita likes to read startup related books, and is the biggest fan of Business Incubator’s rich library.

Lazar Jovanović
CEO @Smart Watering

Lazar graduated from Faculty of Technical Sciences majoring in electrical engineering but was always an entrepreneur by spirit. After working for the biggest IT company in Novi Sad he foundeed Smart Watering.

Debora Santo
Molecular Biologist

Debora is a research in the field of molecular biology with experience in applied genetics in crops. She successfully participated in many educational programs regarding leadership, digital marketing and business development.

Petar Maslesa
Marketing assitant @ Business incubator Novi Sad

Petar is a young and ambitious post grad student at the Faculty of Technical Sciences. He is working as a marketing assistant at Business incubator Novi Sad, and has shown great marketing and organisational skills. He spends his free time playing guitar, and participating in pub quiz. He is also teaching assistant at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad.
