What is SWSG? | At SWSG, you’ll meet like-minded people to brainstorm, design products and validate your ideas with high calibre mentors and judges. Throughout the weekend, prepare to be immersed in an ideal environment where you will be equipped with the right tools and approaches to realise your startup idea. Begin with building your team and brainstorming with them on Friday evening, get down to business on Saturday, and pitch your ideas to the crowd and panel of experts on Sunday.

Developer: The developer eats, sleeps and breathes code. The one who can create algorithms, intellectual property, and build products that forms the building blocks of the startup. Instrumental in building a platform for sustained growth.
Hustler: The hustler eats, sleeps and breathes the business model. The one who builds the team, ignites their passion, forms partnerships and guides the team along the validation path all while cementing its culture. With a keen eye for numbers, this role typically entails anyone from a business, marketing, finance, law background, etc.
Designer: The designer eats, sleeps and breathes design. The one who follows the best practices in brand identity building, user experience, information architecture and wire framing. Constantly keeping the consumer behaviors in mind, this role usually loves UI, UX and is a born artist.

Prior to joining StarHub, he worked for Tech Mahindra and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. His most recent stint was with Hewlett Packard Enterprise as Director and General Manager of Commercial and Public Sector for Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Prior to Mediacorp, Mr Sachet was a Partner with the strategy practice of Accenture, responsible for telecom, media and tech strategy clients across Southeast Asia. Over the years, he has developed deep digital strategy and customer experience knowledge and expertise across the Asia Pacific region. He has spent more than 20 years in Asia, working in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, Brunei, Vietnam, Philippines, Korea and China. Recognised as a thought leader in the tech industry, he is a regular speaker and writer.

Under Nicholas’ leadership, EZ-Link has continuously delivered cashless innovations pivotal to realising Singapore’s cashless society vision. These include launch of EZ-Charms - EZ-Link’s first non-card form factor; My EZ-Link Mobile application - the world’s first Near Field Communication (NFC) mobile application for contactless card top-ups; EZ-Link NFC SIM - the first NFC payment service on Singapore’s public transit; and EZ-Pay - Singapore’s first free card-less ERP payment service. Most recently, in December 2017, Nicholas also steered his team towards launching the new EZ-Link app, lifting users to a whole new level of convenience in accessing EZ-Link’s functionalities and services.

Before working for ZALORA, Silvia headed the Product Team at Glossybox, a beauty subscription service and was the Country Manager for Japan at Sellaband, a music crowdfunding platform. Silvia is a native German who loves to travel and experience different cultures. She was based in Berlin, London, Madrid and Tokyo before moving to Singapore at the beginning of 2013.
Based in Singapore, Alvan’s team is responsible for acquiring, nurturing and growing the corporate client adoption onto the Airbnb for Work platform.
Alvan joined Airbnb in 2017 having spent the last 5 years working at Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) in multiple roles across Sales, Program Management, Product Marketing and Operations. In his last role, he was Vice President, Global Sales and Program Management responsible for managing CWT’s extensive client base in the Asia Pacific region and for delivering solutions that add value to the travel programs of global corporations.
Prior to joining CWT, Alvan led the Ocean Freight division at DHL Global Forwarding, first in Shanghai, then Singapore, managing the delivery of complex off-shoring projects, operational improvement initiatives, as well as management of supplier and vendor performance.
With more than 15 years of experience across operations, quality, and sales functions, Alvan is a leader with strong customer focus and a track record of successful project deliveries.
In his free time, Alvan runs an employee hosted experience in the Airbnb Singapore office to introduce boxing to his colleagues.
He enjoys working with Founders and helping them alleviate the challenges of building great companies specifically around the areas of talent, funding and market access.
Having graduated from the Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne and having work experience in both Australia and Europe, Nicholas has been exposed to the values and nuances of designing and understanding of different cultures and communities. Through the awarding of various grants locally, Nicholas has been able to work closely with various companies to build better design driven solutions. He has presented his work and research on design and education around the world and is now trying to build a stronger design community in Singapore.
Sang decided to move from Silicon Valley to Singapore to help develop the region's startup ecosystem, bringing his experiences from Been, McKinsey, and Bridgewater Associates with him.
He was the Head of Strategy & Architecture at GIC before moving to Temasek where he is currently the Director of Digital Innovation.
He has more than 35 years of experience from Silicon Valley, having spent many of his earlier yearsin Apple working on the Macintosh up to Mac OS X. After leaving Apple, he took on different engineering roles in Adobe and Yahoo. Jordan uprooted from America and came to Singapore in 2016 because he believes that Southeast Asia will experience profound growth and change in the next few decades.
He is extremely passionate about using technology to solve problems at scale, as well as nurturing talent and building a world-class engineering community in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

Cynthia leads the incubation programmes for young social entrepreneurs in 20+ countries at the Youth Co:Lab, an initiative co-led by the UNDP Asia-Pacific and Citi Foundation to economically empower the next generation in the region, through youth entrepreneurship and government innovation. She is also the co-founder of a travel fintech startup called ReadyTravel.io, which helps travellers better manage their FX needs for a more connected world.
After participating her first Startup Weekend in the Silicon Valley in 2014, she has been actively involved in organising and facilitating 18+ events across Asia. She has a deep passion for future skills education and financial inclusion for women, and always intrigued to learn about new ways to advance development through her travels.
