Open Innovation Rocks!

Startup Weekend Singapore – Where Innovation Begins On the weekend of 22-24 July 2016, over 100 passionate startup enthusiasts will be gathered at The Hangar in NUS to hack out their next company. They are participants of Startup Weekend, a global movement of entrepreneurs who are crazy about starting a technology-based business and building a new company.

In just 54 hours, participants will form teams, brainstorm, design a product, validate their business idea and pitch in front of experienced judges on Sunday evening. Throughout the weekend, there will be highs and lows, frustrations and moments of triumph, but some people will meet their co-founder at the event, and some teams will even move on to start a company after the event. Win or lose, we are certain that new bonds will be forged, ideas will be tested, limits will be pushed and lives will be changed.

To spice things up, we will be having a few special activities: Pizza & Beer Party on Friday night! On Sat, we will be inviting special mentors and guests down to interact with the teams! On Sunday morning, we will have a local food startup bake some delicious Italian Bread for breakfast!

Startup Weekend has a strong branding in Singapore, given the rise of technology and entrepreneurial spirit lately. Notable success stories coming out of Startup Weekend include Carousell, which started off as SnapSell at Startup Weekend 2012 and has since raised a $6 million in Series A funding from Sequoia Capital in November 2014.

To be clear, Startup Weekend is for everyone, whether you are working corporate, building your own startup, having a career as a professional clown, a designer, coder or student, everyone can contribute in their own way. Startup Weekend is designed to embrace diversity, creating a conducive environment for anyone to turn their concepts into companies! So give it a go, you'll never know what magic can happen over a weekend!

Bring your friends, form a team, and hack a startup in 54 hours. Event and ticket information can be found
here!

Notice: SWSG2016 is strictly a closed event and entry only with permissible tickets. No tickets = no entry. This is strictly enforced. We are very serious on this policy.
