Ever wondered what it takes to be an entrepreneur?

The professional and personal challenges, the high and lows, the failures and the success?

Startup Weekend is a global grassroots movement of active and empowered entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures. It is the largest community of passionate entrepreneurs with over 1800 past events in 120 countries around the world in 2014.

The non-profit organization is headquartered in Seattle, Washington but Startup Weekend organizers and facilitators can be found in over 200 cities around the world. From Mongolia to South Africa to London to Brazil, people around the globe are coming together for weekend long workshops to pitch ideas, form teams, and start companies.

All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model: anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams organically form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and then it’s a 54 hour frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. The weekends culminate with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders with another opportunity for critical feedback.

Whether entrepreneurs found companies, find a cofounder, meet someone new, or learn a skill far outside their usual 9-to-5, everyone is guaranteed to leave the event better prepared to navigate the chaotic but fun world of startups. I started to work at KROS during my university study, after graduation I worked abroad and in 2003 I joined KROS again – I´ve started at the position of Head of operation department. In 2008 I became Head of the division of organization and improvement and since 2013 I work as a director of the company. I enjoy continuous improvement of established things, bringing new proposals and procedures to work process and enriching of corporate culture, I am interested in new technologies.

Peter, team leader by heart and BeeSafe CEO, is a security area expert with 15yrs of experience with public or private safety. Winner of Startup Weekend Zilina two years ago with project running public with 5k+ downloads protecting people in 100+ countries.


Milan Dubec
Partner & CEO at Ringier Axel Springer Slovakia

Milan started his own internet portals as high school student in 1996 and he is still working on this projects as CEO of Azet.sk. His dream was to have most visited website in Slovakia... and he made it :).

Having started several leading Slovak internet projects, Ivan has over 10 years of hands on experience in developing new projects in field of internet services and automatization.


Jaroslav Luptak
Investment manager at Neulogy Ventures

 Jaro is a co-founder and investment manager at Neulogy Ventures, Slovak largest venture capital firm. He currently serves as the member of supervisory board of several companies, including InHiro, Vectray and CropTech. He also works as an external expert employed by the European Commission, to select the most promising European high-tech startups for the Horizon 2020 program. In 2011, Jaro co-founded StartupAwards.SK, the annual competition for Slovak high-tech startups, which soon turned into the largest startup event in Slovakia. Jaro also managed the first Slovak incubation program in Silicon Valley at the Plug&Play Tech Center.

My experience is based on 18 years career  in science and research, the following years I was working for international companies at TOP management positions.  I established 4 companies. Last 5 years I help my clients  with Innovation, Creativity and Startups projects with my role as coach or mentor. I can navigate  you within the Startup Project preparation, finding funds, marketing and sales strategies and finding the partners.


Peter Trojak
Board Member - KROS

I´ve been working at KROS since 1996, when I started as a part-time worker and after graduating at Faculty of Management, Science and Informatics at University of Zilina I worked here as a software developer. Later I became Head of development of expert´s software and currently I work as  a guarantor of projects HYPO and MEMO, and I am board member of KROS as well. My main role is to provide solutions that help customers in their daily work and to find new tools to make it more effective. I really enjoy work with my clever team and continuous improvement of our software.


Radovan Debnar
Co-Founder / CEO at Learn2Code

I am startupist by myself, always looking for a cooperation with passionate people. I can help Startups with the business model and product strategy. In project Learn2Code we are teaching beginner how to build web and mobile apps. We operate already in 7 cities.


Lukas Imrich
UX Designer at Usability People International GmbH

I believe in design as strategy, process that ultimately creates value for customers/users.
I finished Masters in Usability Engineering with the thesis: The Role of Design in Startups. Most of my time, I am based in Cologne, where I am working as with corporate clients as well with startups. I can help you to turn your assumptions into facts.

I am pro startup and against corporate methodology. As a startup founder I have profound knowledge in investments, finding co-founders, growth hacking, go to market strategies, sales and public presentations. I ran two projects in NYC so I can provide information about the way of things in the US market.

Dusan is CEO of OrderLord, a leading software solution for delivery focused restaurants and chains. OrderLord changes the way food delivery is managed and is already used in 24 countries.
 
Dusan has over 12 years’ experience in leading projects focused on workforce management, GPS tracking and AI.

Roman Lisican is experienced business developer and manager thinking on global scale. He is interested in innovative methods and gives big importance to personal development of his team.


Andrea Corejova
Forensic expert in the field of industrial property and controlling

Andrea Corejova is devoted to intellectual property.

She is forensic expert in the field of industrial property and controlling. At the moment she is working at the University science park of University of Zilina. Her focus of activity are strategies for transferring knowledge into practice.

She looks forward to help Startup community to set up the processes of creation and protection of their potential intellectual property which this community might create during weekend with emphasis on economic impact on the newly-established enterprise.


Martin Pechovský
CEO at MGROUP

Martin graduated from high school in 2007. In the same year he began to study at the University of Žilina, Computer Engineering. Although he did not finished the studies, he started his business career in 2010. Anyway he wanted to study again and started studying at Bank Institute College in Banska Bystrica. As the bussiness was runnig faster, Martin didn't have enough time to study and left the school again. He turned his full attention to the bussiness and to make his dreams come true. In 2010 he established the company MGROUP. Nowadays there work 8 wonderful people specialized for programming, webdesign and IT services. In March 2013, he founded the company Xerry with one co-founder. Xerry deals with development of intelligent devices with interesting design. Now is Martin regional Startup Leader in the city of Banska Bystrica.


Peter Dorcak
Co-owner of the EZO

Peter Dorcak is co-owner of the EZO company which has more than twenty-years tradition in manufacturing and selling of cosmetic products. He is owner of the NET WORTH company focused on the creation of marketing strategies in the Central European area. Peter Dorcak is also associate professor at the department of marketing and international trade in Prešov and part-time associate professor at the Goethe Uni with instruction in German language. Peter Dorcak is president of Slovak marketing association and representative of Slovak republic in the European marketing confederation.


Andrej Kiska
Credo Ventures

Andrej Kiska is an associate at a Prague-based venture capital fund Credo Ventures. Prior to Credo, Andrej worked at an early growth fund Benson Oak, the first backer of AVG Technologies, which is the only Czech company to IPO at the New York Stock Exchange



Matej Loncko
Senior UX Designer & owner at UP

Matej is making small and big ideas alive for clients from all around the world. In the last 10 years he finished many of contract projects and several of his own. 
He loves his family, taking pictures, good music and, of course, playing with Lego 


Juraj Masar
VP of Engineering at Represent

Juraj grew the Prague office of Represent.com (acquired by CustomInk in early 2016) from 3 to 20 people and lead the development of the web-based e-commerce platform. A software engineer by heart, Juraj also helps startups with the development of minimum viable products and their market validations, as well as hiring, operations, and performance marketing.

Michal Hradil is founder of Hyperia company which is Slovak leader in the field of performance marketing and lead generation. Michal is specializing in affiliate marketing, traffic, UX a lead generation over 5 years.
