Ever wondered what it takes to be an entrepreneur?

The professional and personal challenges, the high and lows, the failures and the success?

Startup Weekend is a global grassroots movement of active and empowered entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures. It is the largest community of passionate entrepreneurs with over 1800 past events in 150 countries around the world in 2015.

Startup Weekend organizers and facilitators can be found in over 200 cities around the world. From Mongolia to South Africa to London to Brazil, people around the globe are coming together for weekend long workshops to pitch ideas, form teams, and start companies.

All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model: anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams organically form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and then it’s a 54 hour frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. The weekends culminate with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders with another opportunity for critical feedback.

Whether entrepreneurs found companies, find a cofounder, meet someone new, or learn a skill far outside their usual 9-to-5, everyone is guaranteed to leave the event better prepared to navigate the chaotic but fun world of startups. If you want to put yourself in the shoes of an entrepreneur, register now for the best weekend of your life!

Mizera Radoslav
R&D Manager at Solved

My life has been about cleantech for the past 13 years, and even before that. Basically, I have dedicated my studies and work to this topic, as my biggest passion is to see the transformation of the human culture towards being nature sensitive and anticipative. Nature offers us the perfect design and it is our most important business partner, so let's finally start working with her, creating the ultimate productivity and quality of life.

I am happy being an entrepreneur for the 3rd year as R&D manager at Solved – The Cleantech Company. Before that, I worked over 8 year as Finpro’s Global Industry Analyst specializing in cleantech markets. Besides active consulting done for the Finnish cleantech SMEs, I was also an active member of the Cleantech Finland team from its very beginning in 2008 – bringing it to the world of social / digital media and co-creating the digital tool Solved. From the industry point of view, I actively deal with questions & topics such as green ICT, sustainable energy systems, smart cities, etc. Besides my home – Slovakia – I have lived in the USA, China, Austria and my “second home” – Finland. I was also university lector, bachelor thesis supervisor and I liked it!

MIlan Steskal
Founder & CEO at Mentegram

It’s amazing and very motivating to meet passionate founders whose dreams don’t have any limits and who are grateful for any feedback or experience that others can share with them. That’s why I enjoy coming to Startup Weekend and help you build your dreams. As a co-founder and CEO at Mentegram, I’ve been through wins and fails. We learned a lot about how to find and validate ideas, how to build products, find and get customers as well as raise money. I’m also a huge fan of lean startup and I’m ready to share all of this with you.
Startups and entrepreneurship took my heart in 2012 and I never looked back. At Mentegram, we are filling the gap between doctors and people suffering from conditions like depression, substance abuse and also other mental illnesses, to make sure doctors have efficient ways to provide care to these people. Before Mentegram and startups, I used to work for digital agencies on projects for large corporations as well as smaller agencies as startups. The most interesting ones include Samsung, Microsoft, or Facebook.
A fun fact, I was considered an extremely talented child and skipped the second grade at elementary school.
