Startup-Weekend Global Edition is a weekend during which more than 200 cities run the same program. Over 15000 attendees will do the same as you during this weekend. We will connect live with them, their coaches and mentors. So this weekend is not only about the Barcelona community, but the global community !

Charles has over 30 years experience helping companies align business processes, teams, and technology with clearly defined business strategy having worked and lived in the USA, Canada, UK, and Spain. Charles has also been a Business Angel investor in 23 companies spanning financial services, technology development, ecommerce, and manufacturing. More recently, Charles was Group Director of Innovation and New Ventures for eDreams ODIGEO and now focuses on helping companies understand the future of the travel industry and loyalty.



Henrik Beckmann
Entrepreneur and co-founder of the startup GetYourHero

Henrik is an entrepreneur and co-founder of the Barcelona based startup GetYourHero. Expert in data driven online marketing & analytics, startup law, HR & sales operations, entrepreneurial finance & venture capital. Before coming to Barcelona for his Innovation Master at ESADE, he worked as a Design Thinking Coach for the University of St.Gallen and for global DT projects with Stanford University.


Duncan Campbell
CEO @ Gorilla Arm (Mobile app development studio)

After years of being a mobile and desktop app developer, Duncan formed his own design studio, transforming startups ideas into MVPs and fully-formed apps.  With experience in a variety of different industries (social, healthcare, business, lifestyle), the Gorilla Arm team are experts in cutting-edge UX and app design, and have built to date over 30 apps for the App and Play Store.


Attiya Abdulghany
Chief Left Brain at Oliver + Sons

Attiya is a seasoned, jack-of-all-trades digital marketing and product strategist that has more than 12 years of experience working in a variety of industries and verticals, fulfilling both generalist and specialist roles for organizations in Washington DC, New York City, San Francisco, Baltimore and Barcelona. She  is an unabashed numbers nerd with a passion for data, statistics and helping her clients grow in the digital diaspora. Her in-house experience includes VP of Marketing for TuneUp Media. Her agency experience with Meredith Xcelerated Marketing included clients like Dodge, New Line Cinema and McDonald’s.


Evelien Griffioen
Senior Innovation Consultant

Evelien is a senior consultant with Claro Partners in Barcelona. She applies a combination of analytic skills and creative thinking, applying strategic design and social science methods to innovation of new business models, products and services. Evelien holds a Masters in Strategic Design from Delft University and she brings experience in working with global (tech) companies and start-ups on healthcare, FinTech, new consumers, new models of work, InsurTech and IIoT.

Héctor Gómez
Senior Software Engineer

Héctor has a very diverse background, from backend to frontend and back again. After leading mobile development teams for two years he is back in WEBland (where he belongs). He strives to find the simplest and most elegant solution to complex problems, while keeping an eye on maintainability and performance. For Héctor good design is a must – from the architecture to the code and of course the user interface. And it's because of this last point that he will go into great detail when discussing with our designers. As an eager photography enthusiast, this guy will take his camera(s) everywhere he goes, as he is always on the hunt for some good shots!

Evgeny Kaganer is Associate Professor at IESE Business School where he teaches MBA and executive courses in digital business, IT strategy, and dynamic organization. His research focuses on understanding how rapid digitalization reshapes business models and organizations
