Come together and launch your startup in 54 hours!

Do you have an idea you'd like to pursue or a problem you'd like to solve but don't know where to start?
Techstars Startup Weekend is the place to look for a team, create a prototype of your idea, validate your business idea, and receive feedback from experienced entrepreneurs, all in one weekend.

What do you need to bring?

Lots of energy and lots of ideas! You'll pitch your own idea or listen to others, then vote on the most interesting ideas and form teams with diverse skill sets. You can come with friends, but you’ll get the full experience if you participate in separate teams. Remember, it’s all about forming the right team for your particular startup.
Your idea should be something you have not previously worked on. The idea you pitch and the problem you set out to solve can span social, educational, financial, environmental, or other issues. Over the course of the weekend you'll be challenged to create a prototype of your MVP, minimum viable product, that fits the needs of your target customer. You'll get feedback, iterate, and likely pivot your approach entirely!
Important: You cannot have worked previously on your idea.

Is entrepreneurial experience required?
Definitely not! We encourage people of any age, experience level or skill set to attend. Each year, we have participants ranging from zero startup knowledge all the way to participants who have founded startups in the past! Your fellow participants and our wonderful mentors will be there to help you with whatever you need.

What if I have dietary requirements?
Startup Weekend Lancaster are prepared to cater to any and all dietary requirements. Simply let us know when you fill in the registration form and we will accommodate!

Techstars Startup Weekend is a full weekend long experience.
Your ticket includes:

  • 7 full (and delicious) meals over the weekend
  • Benefits and discounts from our global partners
  • One-on-one mentorship with amazing entrepreneurs
  • A new network of developers, designers, and entrepreneurs eager, like you, to change the world
  • All the Internet and coffee you can consume
The full roster of mentors and judges will be revealed as the event gets closer. Watch our social media channels!

Born in Kenya, raised in Bahrain and lived in India, Netherlands and Norway, I enjoy collecting the best things from all cultures to build a sustainable and caring future for everyone. I am driven by the desire to create meaningful solutions, whether it's at the lab playing with DNA or at home experimenting with zero-waste chemical-free cosmetics and slow food.

In Norway, I am working to bring together public and private stakeholders to discuss sustainable innovation and build programs to educate and motivate future generations to find creative solutions to some of our most pressing issues today, especially in today’s food systems.

Chosen from over 200 entries in a contest run by the IPA and Campaign and judged by a panel of 12 industry luminaries. The awards aim to redress the under-representation of women in positions of leadership. Kim has a very personal story of experiencing social anxiety and panic attacks – it’s this experience that was the inspiration behind developing Clementine so that she could help more women and help them realise they aren’t alone and help is at hand… literally.
