Startup Weekend is a 54-hour event providing an immersive experience into entrepreneurship and innovative thinking. Participants are challenged to build functional startups during an intensive program centered on action, innovation, and education. Learn, Network, Startup!

All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model: anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams organically form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and then it’s a 54-hour frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. The weekends culminate with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders with another opportunity for critical feedback.
Whether entrepreneurs found companies, find a co-founder, meet someone new, or learn a skill far outside their usual 9-to-5, everyone is guaranteed to leave the event better prepared to navigate the chaotic, but fun, world of startups. Forward launched in late 2014 as a new agency in the Havas Media Group, with a presence in 20 countries across Europe and Latin America, and with O2 / Telefonica as a founding client.
Forward embodies the group's vision of a new, integrated agency model. Communications planners, digital specialists, and media buyers are all seated together with content strategists, data analysts, and technology experts to deliver an end-to-end marketing service for clients.

In my "free" time I currently advise & support the Dutch government, mentor at numerous accelerators, guide some cool startups, teach at the HULT university and am quite often a speaker to warn - sorry… inspire budding new entrepreneurs!
My background is in computer science and design; I found my calling when I discovered I could combine the two into meaningful interactive user journeys.
This led me to found Less Rain in 1998, with the vision to create work that moves, empowers and connects people.
I spent the next 15 years delivering interactive communication, products, services and platforms - as an agency owner, creative strategist, executive creative director and innovation specialist - working for brands like Red Bull, Victorinox, Sony, Oracle, Intel, Burberry, Land Rover, Fox Entertainment, Penguin, Puma and Alfa Romeo. I joined Dare in January 2014 and along a fantastic team of planners, creatives and technologists, we helped transform businesses like EE and Aviva by digitally connecting the customer experience.
I have recently joined Seven Seconds as Creative Partner. I work exclusively with Boots on designing innovative digital products and services that support their omni-channel strategy. It's terribly exciting.

Commercially and P&L-experienced, I lead my teams with the philosophy that, wherever possible, this business should be enjoyed.

From 2014 to 2015, Eric was the Alumni & Partner Specialist for Startupbootcamp where he supported 240 startups in fundraising, connecting them with 20+ of the UK’s top investors. He also managed corporate partnerships with Samsung, Amazon, DT, PayPal, and Google.
In addition, Eric is a Global Facilitator for Startup Weekend where he has organised and/or facilitated events in London, France, Luxembourg, Ukraine, Norway and Malaysia. He has spoken at numerous events including Eon Guardian Roundtable on Digital Innovation (London), Digital Shoreditch (London), GSY Summit (Malaysia), PODIM (Slovenia), Pirates On The Shore (Oslo) and Signal Conference (Northern Ireland). Startup Reykjavik contracted Eric as their Lean Startup Mentor in Residence during their summer 2014 programme.
I am a Certified Online Advertising Professional, with proven PPC Advertising experience in multiple verticals. A digital media enthusiast, self motivated, problem solving and team–player, with proven skills and professional experience.
I am an experienced communication professional with proven skills on managing and coordinating complex projects across multiple TV production teams. During the last years I have delivered resourceful budget and cost planning strategies achieving major communication and financial sponsorships.
