Travis O. Johnson

Travis a self-described foody, originally came up with the idea for foodjunky in 1998, while completing a business plan assignment at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Upon graduation, he moved back home to Chicago to work at Gamon International, an in-store marketing agency. While at Gamon, Travis led product development and sales, patenting five different products, including the IQ MaximizerTM used by Campbell’s Soup.
In 2011, Travis decided to reignite his old business plan and pursue his passions for both tech and food. After officially launching at Built in Chicago in 2013, foodjunky was accepted into the Bizdom Detroit startup accelerator. Travis moved to Detroit in May to re-launch foodjunky with the help of Bizdom and the Quicken Loans Family of Companies.
In his spare time, Travis serves on the Board for the Downtown Detroit Soup, in addition to mentoring local youth groups. He also runs the Detroit Chapter of the Nationwide Meetup Bootstrappers Breakfast.
