Startup Weekend, a sort of hackathon for entrepreneurs that has been kick starting ideas and jump starting companies, is coming back to NWA. This year we will make an emphasis on innovations in retail, transportation, supply chain, and food processing. NWA is not trying to be Silicon Valley, we are FULLY embracing NWA and playing to our strengths. Join us!

What is Startup Weekend?
Startup Weekend is about answering questions. Do you have a product or business idea? Are you interested in being your own boss? Do you think it would be rewarding to be part of a startup? Do you want to get plugged in to the startup community? If you answered yes to any of these questions then Startup Weekend NWA is for you.

Where is it?
This year’s Startup Weekend NWA will be held at Centerspace - ARK Accelerator Space, on the Fayetteville Square.

What to expect?
Startup Weekend is a weekend-long, hands-on experience where aspiring entrepreneurs can find out if their startup ideas are viable, what it would be like to work for a startup and get a taste of what it takes to be an entrepreneur. In addition you will have the opportunity to get connected with local engineers, developers, innovators, find co-founders, meet experienced entrepreneurs, network with key advisors and mentors and gain unprecedented exposure to the investment community.

When is it?
Arkansas' next Startup Weekend will take place the weekend of April 17th - 19th. Doors open at 6pm on Friday, the event officially starts at 7pm.  The weekend wraps up with final team presentations/product launches Sunday evening.

Who is invited?
People from all backgrounds are encouraged to attend, entrepreneurs, innovators, developers, engineers, PR/marketing, graphic artists, accountants, venture capitalists, attorneys and college students are just a few of the types of people that are expected to show up.
