Come create the future of food, food systems, and food technology!

Let Food Be Thy Innovation and Innovation Be Thy Food

Have you ever had an idea that would change what we eat, how we eat, where we eat, etc? The whole food system is your oyster! Here's how we're thinking about food + food tech:

(1) Food Creation --- How do we change the where and how food is grown?
Thought starters: new farm and agricultural technology, vertical farms like Plenty or rooftop greenhouses like Gotham Greens, new crop/seed developments, etc.

(2) Food Distribution --- How do we change how food gets where it needs to go?
Thought starters: supply chain disruption, new delivery methods, last mile delivery, companies like Instacartl, FreshDirect, UberEats, etc.

(3) Food Manufacturing --- How do we change how food ingredients are transformed into products?
Thought starters: new production and packaging methods like HPP, new equipment ideas, new manufacturing processes, etc.

(4) Food Consumption --- How do we change how and what consumers interact with when it comes to food?
Thought starters: new CPG brands / concepts, new restaurant concepts, new retail concepts, food e-commerce, new food education platforms, social apps, etc.

(5) Food Disposal --- How do we change how food gets disposed of and limit food waste?
Thought starters: Boulder Food Rescue, CityHarvest, Copia, recycling and composting platforms, etc.

(6) Food Access --- How can we create people-centered food systems?
Ones' that address the barriers that limit a person's access to affordable, healthy, real foods: wages, geography, housing, transportation, health/childcare, institutional discrimination.
Thought starters: Alternative access points, distribution efficiencies, local economic development models, healthy corner stores, govt/business/nonprofit partnerships

Here's your opportunity to transform your thoughts into action. Startup Weekend Food + Tech is a 54 hour experiential program where you'll be able to pitch your idea, form a team, and create your own startup. You'll meet like-minded individuals with diverse skills, passion, and dedication to help make your startup idea a reality. During the weekend you will build a minimum viable product/prototype, test your idea with potential customers, receive mentorship from some of the most experienced entrepreneurs and industry professionals, and win prizes that will help you take your venture to the next level!

We're looking for passionate foodies, students, entrepreneurs, developers, chefs, designers, and everyone in between, who want to innovate new systems and products related to food. Come learn the basics of founding and launching a successful startup while solving real problems we face in our food system.

We provide the space, meals, caffeine, and connections to local resources to keep you going throughout the weekend.

We hope you'll join us and can't wait to see what you cook up!
